  1. Cheers terrypward. I'll get some kit ordered in and if you don't mind will PM you if/when I hit a snag.
  2. I have no mac products and had never heard of apple tv or raspberry til this thread. I love the sound of them both but apart from the brand name and a pretty box, what do I get for a 200 apple box that I can't get from a 50 raspberry box? If it helps I'm interested in functionality over style.
  3. Why do you say he's available? If so, that's the balance needed. Neither a nipper nor a has been.
  4. Is he there? Hadn't realised. Seriously though, the keeper options are limited. It seems to be a straight choice between has beens, kids and what we have.
  5. So is Butland the answer Prof, if not who do you suggest?,
  6. He's badly overweight though and just seems to have fallen away. At his peak he was amazing, but so was Boruc but look at him now. I'd be happy with a stopgap for this season only but I'm not sure Robinson is the man. Where's Kuzscak these days?
  7. I'm in two minds on Butland tbh but I can't think of an alternative. Friedel and Robinson would be stop gaps. Boruc should have been the answer but for whatever reason hasn't worked out. Gazza will be a top keeper but ain't ready yet. I think Butland could be the present and the future.
  8. Interesting. Nixon has a good record with us. Would be superb to get them both.
  9. I'm guilty of wanting him dropped. I wanted more pace and movement up front, and JR given a proper chance. After yesterday I'm persuaded that JR and RL should play together. But, when GR plays in the hole we have the problem of playing RL and having no pace up top. We can overcome that by sticking GR out wide but compromising his talents. If we play GR and RL we have to compromise somewhere. Do we sacrifice pace and movement up top, or GR talents? It's tough but there will be times that RL will have to be sacrificed.
  10. Your first post was clear. You later changed your mind, which is fine, but don't have a pop at me and others when your initial view is questioned.
  11. But can it stream football, films and tv as terrypward asked? Serious question as if it can I may invest. Otherwise I'll get the slightly less pretty raspberry thingy.
  12. I don't fancy NA having to pick a team after yesterday. Guly, JR, RL would all feel hard done by if dropped but I think it's nailed on that we'll revert to 4231 with GR in the team and probably in the hole. I said before yesterdays game that we'll compete and I think tomorrow will be close. NA has wised up tactically and he won't play into their hands like we did at at their place. 2-2
  13. Your 1st comment on the subject included these words: "If we really want the manager to manage the team and make it a big success, then why don't we ask him who he wants for a change, rather than getting yet another player in from the Italian game who our Chairman happens to have heard of/fancy?" The only interpretation of that is that NA hasn't had a say in transfer targets. If you post stuff like that you can't start having a pop at people when they question why you say it!
  14. With the exception of no obvious right back that's a decent line up. They'll be a handful at set pieces and we need height and power to compete. The two up top will give them something to think about. I think we'll line up in a proper 442 and be more competitive than most on here think.
  15. Semantics. The insinuation from your posts on the subject that you have a belief that NA has little say. Your first post on this thread for example.
  16. Can't believe I didn't spot it first time round. Probably something to do with a bottle of port!
  17. On the link, I'd be staggered if it came off but it would be a superb signing. Exactly what we need.
  18. So how do you know NA doesn't have "real input" over transfer targets? Is it not reasonable that someone other than the current manager has input in choosing players that will be contracted to the club for several years, perhaps beyond the tenure ot the current manager?
  19. Do you not think that Mayuka or Rodriguez could be the solution? Why an alternative?
  20. While I get that MLT is acting a bit daft, the bloke has genuine concerns about a club he loves. Is it better that he speaks out than says nothing? The problem is that some people want to believe that everything is great and dismiss anything negative as an agenda or a lie. Also, don't kid yourself that MLT was well looked after. His final contract had him earning less than fringe players.
  21. I agree we need pace but we may have it. JR could be the answer but we ain't seen enough Mayuka yet to give a proper opinion on him - a half against. Sunderland is no barometer of ability.
  22. Your wind ups are normally visible from space. You for real?
  23. The alternative? Personally I'd have no Lambert. JR up top, GR in the hole and Davis wide left. I'd have Reeves on the bench and give him a chance if we ain't succeeding down that side.
  24. While I agree with you, I understand the club still rate him and are working on his weaknesses. We've recently employed a female 'vision coach' to assist players with all aspects of vision and trying to gain an advantage by players like SDR actually opening their eyes and others focusing sooner. Interesting, lallana's little renaissance came after a few sessions with her.

    Billy Sharp

Chez hits the nail on the head. A little striker needs to offer pace, a good first touch , and the ability to come short and offer something in the build up. Billy offers none of these. We have better. Rodriguez actually offers all of the above and has height and power. The lad isn't premier quality. Move him on permanently and get another winger in to feed our strikers.
