Let’s hope for a few passive aggressive quotes in 2 hours time calling us idiots for the meltdown.
-
Just as shit as he is on the pitch I guess. The one maybe positive is Smallbone’s best game was at 6 vs Wednesday… but I just can’t see how that midfield doesn’t get steamrolled.
-
Same shite back 4 and an inconceivably weaker midfield 3 than Leicester… christ alive
-
Holy shit that team
-
In dire need of a positive first 10 minutes to get the crowd onside as Friday was (understandably) shite.

I really want to like Martin and I'm sure he's not happy with how the past few weeks have been, but the fact he's publicly stating he's happy with the Leicester performance over and over again is really worrying. The shape was absolutely disgusting, we didn't even create a handful of chances and Leicester could've had 8. If we keep playing like this, any team with a bit of attacking quality will take the piss just like Sunderland/Leicester/Norwich have. Plymouth had plenty of chances to as well but just didn't have the quality. Bednarek back. Sulemana red overturned and Downes late call for tomorrow, in case anybody isn't listening.

Devastated to read this. Thoughts are truly with you at the moment.
-
Yep. Completely agree with this team. Smallbone extremely lucky to keep his place but no real alternative if Downes is out.

Can’t be arsed with another managerial fiasco this early, and I do wonder if I’m less furious because he seems like a nice guy, but last night was a fucking shambles. The 4v4 at the back with 30 yards between midfield/defence when their keeper had the ball was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before? It just took one knockdown from Vardy into Winks who had the freedom of midfield all night and they were suddenly in on goal? KWP, Smallbone and Charles absolutely disgraceful performances in particular. The latter somewhat excused because we’ve seen him be decent in midfield at least. The literal only positives of the game were Edozie, off at HT, and Bazunu’s distribution, constantly boo’d by the Northam for whatever reason.
-
Scariest part is Leicester were bang average for most of it. Horrible atmosphere. Not much to convince us otherwise.
-
Lyanco and Holgate weren't the only options in the world. A CB who could pass a ball would've been a start. To be the player singled out for being by far the worst in the Everton squad which we've seen for recent years should've been enough to trigger alarm bells. We've also had our fair share of regular PL starters for multiple years who I'm sure you'd agree are absolute shit. I don't think that tells us much about his regression over the past few years.
-
The notion that it was just a bad debut for Holgate is concerning. He is a terrible footballer and has been for years. The fact that Martin saw him as a fit for this team is my one concern about him at the moment.
-
I wasn't watching the game to be fair. Just saw a clip from an Irish fan on Twitter of the penalty mistake. Hopefully he's doing better than I thought.
-
Don't want to pile in for no reason but it is worth mentioning that Bazunu just gave away a really poor penalty and it looks like the Ireland fans all over Twitter have turned against him. A really poor international break is the last thing we needed for confidence.
-
Interesting that he's on the right in training as well, the position we clearly need filled. I assumed he'd be away with Ghana for these two weeks, but it looks like he didn't travel thankfully. Just a shame that THB will be away for most of it. I already have Holgate-shaped nightmares for Leicester.
-
Leicester having a very similar start to us by all accounts. A few wins by a one-goal margin followed by a embarrassing (okay not quite as much) result in their last one prior to the international break. A really interesting one to see where both teams are at - Bazunu 😔 KWP - Bednarek - THB - Manning Downes - Charles - Alcaraz Sulemana - Adams - A. Armstrong
-
It may sound a bit ridiculous in the scheme of what happened but I'd much rather the referee miss an obvious call against us like the Manning penalty decision than have to wait minutes to watch VAR fuck up the Ake header at City. I can handle somebody making a mistake in real time, but I can't be fucked in having to sit around waiting for them to still make the mistake. Anyway, Leicester lose at home and Leeds draw at home, could've been a worse weekend overall.
-
Yep. I'm with you player for player. Either or on Edozie/Fraser.
-
We'd have all taken 10 points from our first 15.
-
I fully give up on him now. I wanted to come into this season and give him an opportunity, was spurred on by Martin's comments but he is the same flappy goalkeeper who SO rarely makes an unexpected save to tip things in your favour. Two absolute howlers today, another from the free-kick that wasn't punished and maybe even the first two a competent goalkeeper does better with? My expectations are now so low that I'm willing to let the iffy ones slide. Go throw everything at Kasper Schmeichel. Bazunu will cost us time and time again.
-
MAKE A FUCKING SAVE
-
I trust Bazunu more in those situations than a 25 yard tame effort
-
Alcaraz shouldn't be dropped again even though I'm fully aware he was shit vs QPR. He's one of our only players with a constant real desire to attack, and poses a real threat.
-
Terrible signing before it happened, proved right immediately with one of the worst defensive displays I've seen from a team notorious for them over the past few years. Can't pass, can't defend, fucking stupid.
-
RM has to take the entirety of the blame for starting Holgate over Charles at CB today. And for whatever part he played in bringing him here, fucking terrible.
