  1. He said the same about Ramirez until his own sources gave him info on the deal, at which point he did a total 180. He's already admitted he has no info on his end of the deal.
  2. Probably a bit of both. Top players at lesser teams in Serie A are probably going to find it increasingly difficult to get the big money moves within Serie A as even the biggest clubs are less willing to splash out and as a result may be more open to looking abroad like Ramirez did and like Criscito did when he went off to play for Zenit. Truth be told we should be looking to try and take advantage of La Liga for similar economic reasons as Swansea have managed to so successfully. On the other hand we were looking towards Serie A from the moment Liebherr and Cortese came in with Waigo and Guly joining when we were in L1, which does suggest either Cortese finds Italian teams easier to negotiate with either because of shared philosophy or through connections.
  3. Impressive youtube video? Needs keep his head up while he has the ball? Sounds like a Brazilian Steve De Ridder.
  4. Sounds like a good bit of news, but I'd wait for somewhere more credible than goal.com to report it before getting too excited.
  5. Statement. of. intent.
  6. I think he could be out the door at Swansea this month. Laudrup doesn't seem to rate him and Reading/Villa are both rumoured to be in for him.
  7. The only difference you'll see from Lambert this month is that he'll have money to bring in expensive and in all likelihood better young players rather than cheap ones from L1 and the NPC. Their Chairman is only stingy with the transfer budget until it gets them into serious trouble. Remember Lerner was reluctant to spend in the summer a couple of seasons ago, they started January one point above the relegation zone and he ended up letting Houllier spend 24m on two players.
  8. http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/coutinho/profil/spieler_80444.html Had a fair few injuries for a 20 year old. I would like another DM too, Cork/Morgan in there together is good but if one can't play or is moved to a different position to cover an injury we will struggle to control the middle of the park against most sides.
  9. As he often reminds us, though he hasn't spoken much about it this season, perhaps he's finally finished reading it.
  10. Unfortunately we reverted to the kind of form we showed earlier in the season when Cork was not in the midfield. Davis is infinitely worse defensively as he won't tackle, doesn't close down and constantly gets caught going forward. Another negative on Davis is that passing is so predictable and ineffective it's unbelievable.
  11. Also let's not forget what we did to Villa after Arsenal battered us.
  12. Chelsea played well, but can't help but feel we gave up the moment they equalised.
  13. OK up until Chelsea scored then we just dropped deep and waited for them to score again. Rodriguez is looking extremely lightweight whenever he's asked to hold the ball up.
  14. Further down the page it does say he's suspended from 22.12.2012 until 06.01.2013. One game suspension for two yellows against Juventus in their last match.
  15. A BBC local reporter reckons he's now off to Fulham.
  16. Still none the wiser.
  17. In his initial denial NA did say he'd heard of and rated him.
  18. Italian football journalist, works for CNN Italy and Gazetta Dello Sport. Was first to report we were interested in Gaston.
  19. Another bit from Tancredi Palmeri's twitter;
  20. Hard to say really, since Fonte & Yoshida started gelling as a partnership we've gone from being the worst defence in the PL over the first 10 games to being amongst the best in the last 10 games even with awful error prone goalkeepers behind them.
  21. Ready for a 100 more pages...
  22. Is that the convicted rapist?
  23. Benitez will probably want rid of Benayoun quite quickly as they don't have the best of relationships going back to their time at Liverpool http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/11/rafa-benitez-yossi-benayoun-liverpool
  24. They are allegedly ready to pay 10m for Loic Remy, who was widely coveted a couple of years ago, but has only scored 1 goal in 14 in Ligue 1 this season.
