Excellent performance, really underlined how much we've improved defensively.

Good first half, unlucky goal. Hope we don't tire or panic and drop deep second half. Guly had to try and get it away or Koscielny would have surely scored.

Swansea got what they deserved having wasted so much possession 2nd half.

Would rather have Cork at CM giving their midfield hassle TBH, Davis is a poor DM as he doesn't like tackling. good to see Boruc get another go though.

Swansea are having all the possession against Villa, yet don't look threatening at all.

Reading's revival looking very short lived

£5m might be enough for the lads autograph, we should hold out for at least 4 times as much at least for the player. Even then not until the summer.

Pretty good signing for Reading, didn't live up to the hype he had a couple of years ago but he's still a good player. Zingarivic is going to have be a bit more brazen with the chequebook than he was in the summer if Reading want to stay up.

He also played the full 90 against England in the friendly they had at the start of this season.

Don't know chucking another young goalkeeper into the firing line is the answer and Butland has some howlers to his name already this season. Much rather we get Robinson, or a similarly experienced GK instead. Astori would be very good, starting to break into the national team & at 25 he still has his best years ahead while also having a number of years experience in a top level league.

Questions would have to be asked if the club let Shaw go for a paltry £5m

Not in Jan and not in the Smmer either unless a massive offer comes in for him, one that dwarfs what Arsenal paid for AOC. After all, Shaw has shown his quality at a much higher level than Chamberlain did.

If Boruc isn't being given another go now despite the poor performances of Davis/Gazzaniga and the numerous goals their mistakes have cost us, you have to wonder if the club has any intention of using him again.

Hopefully the team will have learned from the away game and we try to close down their midfield 3 rather than backing off all game and allowing them to pick out killer passes at will. If we can make it scrappy in midfield we can get something out of the game.

I think Adkins wanted two defenders down there to try and stop them putting balls into the box from that side. Unfortunately they simply switched their focus to our left where Shaw/Fox & Guly (who chance missed or not had run himself into the ground tracking back and was running on empty by that point)

I don't understand why we didn't bring on someone with pace towards the end, would have given us a genuine threat on the counter attack.

A good point, but feels like a defeat. Dire second half, gave away the ball under no physical pressure too often and dropped deep. Davis was woeful second half, won practically nothing he came for.

Perhaps Ramirez suffered a knock and hasn't recovered to an extent where he can play 90 minutes.
