  1. Yoshida & Schneiderlin look lightweight, full backs too narrow, Gaston doesn't look fit or happy playing RM Too much hoof-ball from Yoshida, Fonte & Clyne. It's not even like West Brom have played well, Mulumbu looks class, the rest are merely well organised and workman-like.
  2. It'd be nice if the ground opened up and swallowed all 22 men into a dark abyss. But failing that, hopefully it will stay 1-1.
  3. Les Reed becoming the manager may be the only way to get rid of him, once Cortese sees him coach a football team he may wonder "why did I listen to this idiot?"
  4. Summary makes it sound like he's begging for his job, not a good sign for his future IMO
  5. Reeves Chaplow Mayuka Guly Hooiveld Davis JWP All these have been in or around the first team this season, and it is fair to expect that if picked they would go out and try to prove themselves worthy of a place in the first team. Seems like they didn't do that tonight I don't blame Adkins for playing any of them as you'd expect better. But De Ridder, Seaborne, Butterfield will never get near the first team, and no matter how promising they are, you can't expect them to turn the game round on their own at such an age.
  6. I'd have expected our reserves to at least give it a go and try stake a claim for a spot in the first team. Unfortunately it sounds like the players sent out there tonight gave no ****s whatsoever. Adkins should have put a few stronger players on the bench at least so he had some options to turn it around if the side he sent out wasn't doing it. However, he didn't so we were ****ed.
  7. Glowing appraisal of Lee from Craig Burley "Just stood on the flank and watched the game, done absolutely nothing. Made no runs forward or tracked back"
  8. Yeah, he's one of the shortest players in the team he is won't be winning many hoofs up the park. He needs it into feet as he has shown in his previous cameos that he can ride a challenge and hold onto it. Perhaps then our midfield would have a bit of time to get forward in support.
  9. Still, only a goal down. Maybe NA can give them a kick up the arse at HT and we can turn it around.
  10. Sounds like Mayuka has been stranded up front while our midfield have dropped deep and been dominated. Lee and De Ridder have been useless according to the commentators or R5LX
  11. Sounds like when we go forward and put balls into the box that are cleared, we aren't winning the second ball.
  12. Huge let off for us, Leeds just missed a sitter. Open goal 1.5 yds out according to R5LXtra
  13. Eh, Seaborne and De Ridder being in the team doesn't inspire confidence but on the whole that side should be able to make a game of it. Interesting to see how Reeves as a LB and Mayuka do over 90 minutes, good to see Lee back too.
  14. If Boruc is going to be first choice this season, which barring a severely harsh punishment seems very likely, it would do Gazzaniga a lot of good to go out on loan and play some first teams games in the npc. However, if Boruc were not available for whatever reason for an extended period I would hope that we'd recall Gazzaniga and put him straight in the team.
  15. Apparently Boruc was chucked his water bottle at our fans after the Spurs second goal (which he should have done much better with) Not off to the best of starts really, rushed into the side while still in possession of a few extra chins and a bit of a belly, costs us goals in both starts and now this.
  16. Borucgate? Did they show his double chin on the big screen or something?
  17. Probably see everyone who didn't start today. Gazzaniga Reeves Hooiveld Seaborne Butterfield JWP Chaplow Guly De Ridder Lee Mayuka Subs: KD and a bunch of academy players. Might be another night to forget I'm afraid.
  18. Mayuka has to start
  19. The same Aaron Martin who can't even get on the bench at Palace?
  20. Hate to say it after criticising Adkins all week for dropping him, but if Lambert was looking to prove something to Adkins after being dropped last week, he isn't showing it today. Also, Schneiderlin's movement is atrocious. Makes no effort to create any space for himself off the ball so when the ball goes to him he has no option beyond backwards/sideways passes or hopeful hollywood passes.
  21. Absolute rubish, Lallana and Rodriguez are the only two players who look to be putting in any kind of effort.
  22. Yes, Reeves at LB if Fox is out. Yoshi is not a LB and Hooiveld is the biggest liability at CB.
  23. Agreed, on the left he looks out of place and it comes across as if he's being shoehorned into the side. Much rather have Lallana out left and JWP in the middle tbh
  24. I'm sure there will be a stream if it's being televised outside the UK.

    Lambert

I agree with this, Mayuka looks more the sort of striker we needed to bring in during the summer in the brief glimpses we've seen of him, quick & direct. It could be that Rodriguez just needs a league goal to get his confidence up, he's made some decent runs and got into some good positions but when it comes to the end product he never looks like scoring. On current form he isn't living up to the price tag I'm afraid.
