Saints had to bring the biscuits with and send a third of each one to peronel
-
Sorry, not up to speed today. I thought he was coming to Southampton to do this...as per Italian reports a couple of days ago? Is this still the case do you know?
-
Will never get done in time FFS. Shouldn't have wasted out time on this when we need a CB.
-
So is this a press conference or a meeting? A press conference wouldn't be good, usually clubs don't organise these just to announce a player has left and no way Saints would agree to them announcing it before we did.
-
What papers? You better not be WUMing again.
-
Maybe 40K a week and the season ticket DVD will swing it in our favour?
-
Maybe but think that would have been leaked by now

Apparently so dune

it would be funny if he failed the medical, LOL!!!!

Not a high confidence level of the Ramirez deal going through then Krackers?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't I think mate. Thanks for the updates, people starting whining only when they read things they don't want to hear.

Emmanuel Mayuka - Officially Signed on OS - Work Permit Confirmed
Dig Dig replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Probably lots of other stuff to do. Hopefully -
That's fair enough and I would like to see more strength and simplicity in our central defence for sure. Just think they did really well as a partnership last year and plenty of pairs have stepped up from the championship to the prem. I wouldnt say they are as far off prem quality as some make out. Experts point fingers at defenders after nearly every goal and let's face it, there are still a fair few donkeys strolling around as CBs in the prem.
-
I know it's your opinion. Didn't say you were wrong and just saying mine is that they aren't as bad as everybody is making out
-
A lot of established prem defenders will give penalties away this season and many did that very weekend....7 I think. Fonte does need to cut out some mistakes and he's one I would look to replace but he's still a good player IMO.
-
They are not as bad as you make out. They were one of the top CB pairings in the league last season, they are not going to be no way near good for the Prem. It's important that we don't have to resort to Seabourne or worse and no point bringing in players now who are worse than we have but still think the general reaction is a bit OTT
-
Think this is a bit premature. Fonte and Jos are not as bad as some make out. Both capable of mistakes but how many CB pairings aren't? They were both good against City and Wigan didn't really create much. They have played a lot of games together and are decent if not spectacular players and the urgency people have created over these positions is a little OTT. We're short in numbers there for sure and we should always look to improve what we have but I think it's too early to write them off or in particular, Fonte

Mods, go take a week off. When you get back, people will still be starting and discussing mostly saints related subjects or they will have instigated some other general talking points. Some people will argue with the trolls and some normal posters will maybe disagree with each other. Some people may even be called some names but the large majority won't and those that are probably won't care. Ultimately, when you come back, no one will have been killed, the forum won't be a burning smouldering wreck and life will go on. Try it and you might save yourself a lot time and energy in deleting, removing and infracting posts.

Some of the things people have come out with to this effect is staggering. I don't know where they get these ideas from.

Horses for courses. Whatever anyone says about Guly, he has very good stamina and his job first half against city was to run the centre backs. Rodriguez was mainly used out wide to link play back to Lallana to get him on the ball as often as possible. Charlie is correct, if we didn't have Rodriguez, people would be screaming out for back up for Rickie. Now we have Rodriguez who can play the same role as Lambert, people are questioning why we bought him. People need to stop being fixated on where Rodriguez has played the last two games. We're clearly just filling some gaps until we have better options out wide. Rodriguez is a centre forward and will play centre forward this season when Rickie can't/doesn't play.

If you go onto a thread looking for news and people are talking garbage or having some banter, it's a good indication that there is no news. As soon as anything newsworthy appears, the thread goes back on topic (mostly!)
