  1. Just because I know nothing about kayaking doesn't mean I know nothing about other sports. "Experiencing" a sport doesn't exactly qualify you for anything. If it does, then I'm also qualified to talk about kayaking. I've actually done quite a bit of kayaking when I was at school up in the Lake District. Both racing on a lake and slalom in a river. How much golf have you played?
  2. Nicklaus hadn't won 14 by 33 years old, and didn't win the US Open by 15 and the Masters by 12. It's pretty much nailed on that Woods will overtake the 18.
  3. Hahaha love it!! That's what golf coaches are for! Go for lessons!
  4. And it's not just the majors, it's the records he's broken. There aren't many he has left, and he's halfway through his career. Just check it out: http://web.tigerwoods.com/onTour/records/mostMajorsProfessionalOnly (All of the other records are in the list on the left)
  5. But the majors are THE most important titles in the world. There isn't a single event bigger. Yes there are 4, but they have the best players in the world at every one of them. Every golfer is judged on majors. Thats why Sergio Garcia is the most frustrated golfer on the planet - the best player not to have won a major.
  6. Oops!! I corrected that!
  7. I have mentioned Federer. My opinion is that if we're talking about the greatest SPORTSMAN ever, not the greatest SPORTSMAN IN THEIR SPORT, you have to compare facts and figures. How else can you decipher who's the greatest? That's how the argument in the press about who is greater, Federer or Woods is made. Comparing Federer's grand slams against Woods' majors. 10 world titles in kayaking for Richard Fox is, no doubt, incredible in kayaking. I have no doubt about that because you've fought that point. But 14 Majors (and counting), and 6 or so world golf championships is more. Federer's 15 grand slams is more. The pro-Woods debate in the press is that Woods has more people to beat every tournament, Federer has to beat only 7 or 8.
  8. You're not far wrong after the sh1t that happened at the tournament this week.
  9. Before I leave though I must argue this point. Tiger came from a poor background, and he was subjected racism his whole childhood because his dad was black and his mum was Asian. Every time he pitched up at a tournament, the white kids would give him grief and make up excuses to get him disqualified from the events. He then went on to dominate a very "white only" game, as a black man. I think that's something other than the facts and figures which adds to his greatness.
  10. I'm bored too. I love you :smt060 Adios
  11. I would call it snapping, rather than biting....but I'm glad between the two of us, we've entertained you somewhat
  12. At what point did I say that? I didn't say people shouldn't judge sports they didn't know about whatsoever!! What I DID say was that you were wrong, golf IS a sport, and then I gave you reasons why it was. I also did NOT judge kajaking. I didn't doubt the credibility of the sport, you chose to think I did. I doubted the greatness of this Fox fellow in the world of sport as a whole, but I didn't say kayaking is sh1t, kayaking isn't a sport, you must be X and Y because you're a kayaker. If you're going to accuse me of something, at least accuse me of something that is true. That is all I ask.
  13. I know, what an idiot I am. Suggesting that the most dominant sportsman of today, along with Federer, is in fact, the most dominant sportsman today. What a lack of intellect I've been showing!! And yes, because I actually can back up my argument with facts and figures, I'm full of myself and I feel more important than I truly am. Maybe I should have argued my point by saying "he's the best sportsman ever cuz he did things that nobody has ever heard about and also I don't have any facts and figures to give to you other than he's the bestest cuz I do his sport and it's real tough", like you argued your point. Maybe then my opinion would have been more accepted!! If only I had thought more carefully. Oh well.
  14. Oh and please feel free to point me towards things I've said that are self contradictory!! I know contradictory is a big word and was maybe one of the few you knew that you could find a way to use against me, but at least pick one that is actually relevant!!
  15. No, here's why you're unintelligent. Firstly you say golf isn't a sport. Idiot. Then you call me very childish names, like bellend and p1ss stain, amongst others. And saying Tiger is my bum chum - almost forgot that one. Very much the behaviour of an intellectual adult that is, isn't it?! The basis I have on your age is that as a retired sportsman, you'll more than likely be in your 30's, at the very least. Maybe double my age was a little far fetched, but no matter - if you're 5, 10, 15 or more years older, at any age, your pathetic, childish behaviour in your posts show you up to be very stupid, not very mature, and god help us all if you have kids. Cuz if you're at the helm of a family, no doubt they'll be the next generation of chavs to grace St Mary's.
  16. Hmm and none of mine were ignored were they.....
  17. I think you'll find I'm more intelligent than you'll ever be. Considering I'm about half your age, you should be ashamed.
  18. saintwarwick and robsk II, the two kayak luvvies. please, get a room!
  19. Aren't you a funny ****. One person it won't be is D1ck "Who?!" Fox!!
  20. Thanks smarty pants, but I was referring to my discussion with Robsk, not the thread as a whole.
  21. Wow Robsk, you're really throwing your teddies out the cot aren't you!! Bless ya. For a retired sportsman, you must be what, in your 30's, 40's, 50's or even older? You should be embarrassed! Oh and hang on, is that ANOTHER post where you failed to acknowledge your ridiculous original post that caused this argument?! Just for you, little boy, I'll post it again so you can have a read back. Here you are...... But it's me who lacks intelligence right? Hahaha, idiot. Please, please tell me this is a joke? You're just trying to make a few people laugh aren't you?! If you ARE serious, then there's a member at my home golf club who is a top clinical psychologist. I'll ask him for his office number, and I can pass you on his information, and you should go see him. Because there is definitely some delusion and denial going on. There are 32,000 golf courses in the world, and 61.1 million people play golf worldwide. 300,000 approximately of these play professionally. And there are approximately 3 million that play golf worldwide to a high standard at the amateur level, whether that be playing amateur tournaments regionally, nationally and internationally, or golf in a team environment at university, nationally or internationally, or in their region. Are you trying to tell me anything close to 300,000 people kayak professionally?! Or there are millions of amateur kayakers who compete in tournaments?! You're having a ****ing laugh!! You're losing the tiny bit of credibility you had to begin with now. And I'm bored of reading the nonsense that you're writing. I'm guessing you're not very well educated and not very intelligent, and I feel a bit embarrassed for you to be honest. So I'm not going to let you bother me anymore. If I laugh any louder at the rubbish you're spouting, I'll strain an intercostal muscle or something. So I'm not going to respond any further to this thread. I'm at peace with my opinion - my opinion is shared by millions (Joe Public as well as the sports media) for a reason. And that's good enough for me. This discussion is over.
  22. I watch a whole spectrum of other sports. I have participated in alsorts of different sports. And I have a lot of friends who are professional sportsmen and women. I don't mention Woods because I'm a golfer and he's a golfer. My opinion is shared my millions of people. Kayakers mention Richard Fox because they're kayakers. Their opinion is biased. Mine is not. If Federer goes on and wins another 5 grand slams and Tiger doesn't win another one, I will say Federer was the most dominant. My opinion has nothing to do with the fact he's a golfer. My opinion is based on facts - statistics, records, wins. End of.
  23. Hey you hypocritical piece of s h 1 t, how many times do I need to point you to your original post on this thread for you to acknowledge that what you wrote was exactly of the nature of what you're accusing me of?!?! No, you won't acknowledge it, because you know it puts a dampener on your argument. Just in case you've forgotten: Here it is again, just in case it still hasn't registered: Oh, and once more: . HYPOCRITE. Funny, I was listening to Radio 5 on the way back from the Hearts game yesterday, and they were talking about Usain Bolt and how if he continues his form into 2012 and 2016 he'll be as great as a Woods or a Federer. Claiming they are at the top of the tree in regards to dominant sportsmen. Funny, they never mentioned your boyfriend Richard Fox. Why's that? It was Kelly Sotherton, an Olympic athlete, who came out with that point. Surely an Olympian would have said Bolt would be up with Richard Fox, cuz he's the greatest sportsman who's ever lived, right?!
  24. I've flown with United many, many times, mainly because they come out cheapest with good flight times for the journeys I need to make. Never EVER fly United through San Francisco. Every single time, without fail (4 times now), I've connected down to San Diego and they've lost my golf clubs - once for a week...the other times I had to wait for them to come on a later flight. wait for them to come on the next flight. They lost them for 5 days on a flight back to England through San Francisco too. I have to say though, they aren't late very often, not in my experience anyway, and the planes on the internal flights are much more modern than American Airlines' planes. There's a United Airlines complaints website, http://www.untied.com, there are some funny stories on there!!
