This is my last of my 3 posts, will post more tomorrow.....Scott finished 16th in the Open last year.....not bad....and he's playing well now. He has won the Players - that's the 5th biggest event on tour behind the majors. Stricker is a good bet, but an outside bet which I'm tempted on myself,on SkyBet......Stephen Ames at 125-1. I like that a lot. I've played a lot of golf with Amesy (my coach taught him for years, then they fell out after he won the Players), and he has a good game for links golf.

Garcia isn't suddenly going to fix his putting......it's in a right mess. And when it gets windy, it's hard to keep still and you have to allow for the wind when reading putts. He's got enough problems without that on top. It won't be him. I wouldn't say Scott is a choker. And he's coming into form right now. And he'll probably be smashing Ana Ivanovic in the Turnberry hotel so he'll be in good spirits. Watney is from Sacramento....it gets a bit windy up there. He won the Buick this year at Torrey Pines....that's by the ocean. Like I said, a bit of an outside bet, but I bet his odds are favourable for a bet. Watney works with Butch Harmon and I've worked with Butch's right hand man in Vegas....he told me he was at the academy the other week and he was in awesome shape. Could be a bit of a Lucas Glover type thing. Stricker won last week didn't he.....he might not be a bad shout either.

Sorry but none of them stand a chance. Villegas is the most in form player out of that list and he hits it way too high for links golf. Sergio has the ball striking for an open, but his putting is horrific. But if it's really windy and it comes down to who keeps it in play the best, he MIGHT have a shot at it. Tiger will win if the wind doesn't get up, as he can hit iron down every hole. But Haney has ruined his long game....doesn't matter how good his recovery shots and short game are, you can't win from the chin high grass on a links course. Check the weather before you put a bet on him. If it's windy he'll struggle. Leonard isn't good enough in the majors anymore, Levet might manage a top 25, Jacquelin isn't good enough for an Open, and Rose is hopeless this year. Good bets are Adam Scott or Nick Dougherty. For an outside punt, Soren Kjeldson is having a consistent year, and I have a little inside information that Nick Watney is playing VERY well.

Step being so pessimistic and defeatist everyone.....there's still time yet.

Football league not FA

He won't. In 6 or 7 years time, Nadal won't be able to walk. His knees are screwed....they have been as long as he's been out there - he's had strapping on his knees his entire career. He won't be able to keep his speed up, which will make him very average. He'll probably win 10 slams or something, but won't beat Federer's record.

Man City were in the 3rd tier not so many years ago. Now I dread to think how many world class players they'll have next season. Onwards and upwards.

Passion and commitment?! They ran on the pitch to act the goat, play hard boy, steal some souvenirs and goad the Burnley fans. That's not passion and commitment. That's being a bunch of morons. Anybody who agrees with what happened needs banning. What a great advert to our prospective new owners. Idiots.
-
I think you need to get out more if u think what happened today was acceptable. Hope you get banned.
-
Oh so we have the identity of one of the chavvy dicks who ran on the pitch. What was the point. Nothing to celebrate, no demonstration needed. Completely pointless. Just a bunch of chav tossers trying to play billy big ******

Warning to anyone driving up there, allow extra time, as the roadworks near Nottingham/Sherwood Forest are a nightmare. They seem to go on for 20 miles or more.

You've never used the "toys out of the pram" response before have you? You boring, monotonous, waste of space. No wonder you moved to Austria....nobody here in England liked you.....boring, negative....just sod off, you'll make this forum so much more readable
-
Maybe it is....but he's so negative about everything, he sounds suicidal half the time.
-
Alpine why don't you commit suicide and do us and your family a favour. You're so boring with your negativity. We all know how crap we're doing, we don't need you to tell us. Nobody likes you and nobody wants you here.....get lost.
-
Everyone who is an optimist is in denial and stupid and everyone who is negative is a realist. That's right isn't it Alpine
-
I'm not saying we are.....?!
-
How do you know we LOOK disinterested?
-
I actually find you're the one being pathetic.....everyone knows your negative thoughts, why bang on about them now to dampen the spirits after a nice run of games. Are you too much of a coward to think positive thoughts?
-
Are you really in your 40's? You should be ashamed. Very, very childish this morning.
-
Maybe he won't win one this year, but to say he'll never win one is a bit short sighted. He's as talented as any of the guys out there.....he's just one notch up on his attitude away from winning a major.
-
Nonsense, he's in a completely different league to Henman. He will win a major. Federer is on the decline, and Nadal will have no knees left soon. but he's beaten them both anyway
-
Well that's the big question, but I'd settle for anyone who'd just run around, someone who isn't up their own arse and someone who won't sulk the whole game. I don't like slagging off players, McG, however, has an attitude problem, and with that deserves to be dropped. Losers let it happen, winners make it happen. He doesn't make it happen. He just sulks. Not good enough. Like I said, if all this is true, it might turn out to be a benefit to the cause.

Every cloud has a silver lining......... IF true, McGoaldrought may get dropped for a game or two! Whoop!
