  1. Just keep an eye on the forecasts, should firm up tonight into tomorrow morning. Can't tell either way at the mo, possibility is increasing of sig. snow though.
  2. Just looked at the highlights of the Leeds - Birmingham game, to be honest with you.....Leeds could have easily been 3/4-0 in the opening 30mins. They battered them and missed some absolute sitters. Birminghams centre backs were constantly being outpaced by McCormack and even Bechio got in behind...! They took the lead, then gave away a sloppy free kick from where brum equalised - and from there on in their confidence drained. It wasn't as straight forward a result as the score suggests.
  3. Weather warnings now out via the Meto for a significant snow event on Saturday into Sunday, might not affect the game but could cause a headache for any of you traveling back.

    Jack Saville

He's had his contract mutually terminated and will join barnet on a free.
  5. Based on the short amount of time i've seen him, he looks quick in the mind too. I don't think he's massively pacey, but his quickness of mind will allow him to skip away from CB's before they even realise.
  6. He played 30mins, in fact in total that's probably 45 minutes he's played in England. You cannot come to conclusions and judgements like that based on such a short timescale. Weeks/months - yes, but minutes? come on. The same way people can't really come to the conclusion that he's going to be a world beater based on 45mins. But the general feeling is that he has the potential to be decent for us, and I saw more positives than negatives that's for sure.
  7. ...and 5mins later went and crunched one of their players! That was enough for me...
  8. I didn't say you did.....it's just the point of people making snap judgements in 30mins of football.
  9. I thought he looked fine. Again 30mins is no time to judge anyone, and make any rash conclusions on them. But from what I saw, he looks like he has the potential to be really useful for us. Similar seems to have happened to Lee Barnard, he's had what...20mins league action this year? He didn't score, so he's obviously not good enough for this level. Bizarre logic IMO.
  10. The plan is to bring in Collins when the loan window reopens, that's according to Alan Nixon anyway - who has been bang on about everything.
  11. I think it's very slick. The live football page today was excellent and much more detailed. Check out all the info on the tables too, click on us and you see graphs, statistics etc on how we've done over the season. All pretty impressive and much more feature packed. Will take a bit of getting used to though.
  12. Just a heads up - keep an eye on the weather forecasts towards the w/e, increasing chances of a widespread snow event over the weekend.
  13. Leicester 2 - 2 Boro tonight (almost FT) Would have preferred a Leicester win, but Boro were leading...
  14. Zigic fell awkwardly scoring his 4th goal, and had to be subbed straight after. Although there haven't been any reports on if he's injured or not today - so it may have just been a precautionary sub.
  15. The difference with this kid is that he'd never played a first team game, so his value is never going to be huge - there's no justification for it to be huge. Forest couldn't really reject £1.8m for a 15 year old who has never played a first team game - they need the money too. With us, Chamberlain had been in the first team setup for a year or so - and was a key part in our promotion playing almost 40 times over the season. This is why we could demand a much higher fee for him. (and we're financially sound, so we dictate, which helps)
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm - For what it's worth, I've managed to dig out the link to the predictor. It's no longer live on the new BBC site, so bookmark it! Not sure how long this will stay live either..
  17. After looking at the results, seasons gone by etc - I reckon 2nd could be achieved by as little as 80 points this year. 90pts should win you the league. Crap....was just going to use the BBC predictor thingy, but they've removed it from their new site.
  18. What we need at the mo is a run of wins back to back to get us going. We're stuttering along at the moment results wise, and that 11 point gap to 7th is now down to 6 - and everyone is closing up on us. Our away fixtures coming up look tough, Boro away, WHU away, Brum away, Leeds away, Hull away, Palace away...etc. Not an easy run it, so I cannot see us getting the same head of steam as last year, it'll be very very difficult anyway. I think 90 odd pts for 1st, and around 80-85 for 2nd IMO, based on a few things I've looked at this morning. I'd love to be proven wrong though! Let's just be in the mix come the end of April and we'll see how we do.
  19. If our prime minster is coming out and saying that, then the country is screwed. Although we knew that anyway.
  20. Not surprised, but he's not the one the Leeds fans wanted out - trust me. Bates is killing that club and they wasted such a chance to use the L1 momentum in a positive light. Entire backroom staff gone apparently.
  21. If he failed at Barcelona, we don't want him. etc.
  22. He's a good guy. Spoke very well of us before and after the match, and gave a very fair analysis I thought. I think their stand out player is Whittingham - but we didn't allow him the space to move the ball around as he usually does, but his delivery is outstanding.
  23. I think we'll have to wait a few weeks before he regains that level, but he was playing at the level he did with Burnley - and I see no reason why he cannot continue that when he's fully fit, he's got all the talent in there.
  24. I have to agree, it's a bit of a trend. We do lack control in the middle of the park without him. He's not very attacking in himself, but he organizes it much better than Morgan and Cork IMO.
