Really enjoyed that, I never understood the ''well get thrashed comments'' - we were always going to give them a game, we're a very good team now. The first half was pretty comfortable for us, we were aided by Man Utd not really turning up, but we turned the screw on them and our midfield ran the show I felt. Morgan was just sublime in the first half, overshadowed their midfield on his own, the boy is a classy classy player. I was amazed by how much time they gave us and space to turn, Lallana would have had fun today and it's a bloody shame we couldn't see him out there. The second half we tired, as I felt we would, as they upped their game. They were always going to have a ''moment'' in the game but it's just a shame that their winner came through a mistake from us, but it's pointless dwelling on that. It was a good advertisement for us as a club, I thought we produced some lovely football at times and we matched them with their passing in the first half, even bettered at times. Best outcome really. No injuries, no suspensions, not thrashed and no replay - so a very good day all in all and a nice boost for everyone connected to the club. Let's hope this is the start of putting Southampton back on the footballing map.

You may be right on that one Benji, according to one of my sources he has been spotted at St Mary's this afternoon. I am ITK.
-
tbf he's a bit of a walking PR disaster!
-
Spoilt, ungrateful and greedy spring to mind.
-
True, that was way back when Markus first bought the club - within the first few months. His company hired an office space at SMS, was on the OS and everything....that was a short lived experience to say the least and i think it was all linked to the house renting saga.
-
I think it's fair to say that Cortese and Franny aren't exactly best buddies.
-
Blimey, something has gone on with Franny and NC ''I rented a house to the football club, Cortese was the tenant. When we moved back we had to employ cleaners and we also had unpaid rent. I'm not prepared to say any more on the matter, as it's now a legal case."

I think you'd be pleasently suprised tbh. I rate both of them very highly, they're good on the ball have decent pace and are very good in the air. Martin in particular reads the game so well and hasn't looked fazed whenever I've seen him - top top prospect. We don't need to risk players like Fonte in a glamour game like this IMO. After Lallana he's our most important player - surprised he's not captain with Hammond out.
-
Possibly, I think AOC will be rested too - and come on as a late sub if needed. I think the left side is a toss up between N'Guessan and Dickson, i guess it depends on how fit N'Guessan is and how quickly he's settled in.

lol MLG's corrected himself!!! Thought i'd never see the day.
-
ah yes, one of the names our good old friend Left back brought up as 'destabilising the club''.
-
MLG will be here very soon to tell us the name saint_clark

-
Fingers crossed trousers. I think most of the top 6 are away too?
-
FT - Col 2 - 1 - P'Boro
-
maybe we can convince Mackail-Smith yet
-
If it stays at 1-1 that's a great result for us.
-
I agree Nick. How many people predicated the Dany N'guessan signing? That's exactly it and how we work now. The signings we make are ones that have not been speculated, or even considered by us half of the time.
-
I'd expect us to play Seaborne or Martin at CB alongside Fonte. no disrespect to Jaidi, but we'd have a massacre on our hands if he plays at CB. He's not got the pace to cope with these sort of players anymore.
-
Our players would have to be quick to get onto that bus.
-
FFS that could have gone towards Austin. Where are Cortese's priorites???
-
Did it though? He's still playing for hearts.
-
We've moved on now and he's no longer anywhere near our level, but he did a good job last year when we had our run of 3-1's. He's done very well at Yeovil by all accounts and their fans are quite taken by him. Nice place to end his career tbf.

Agree with that, one of the mods or admins should change the guys user name. I have a few suggestions if they're interested. Some aren't suitable for a public forum though. ''Gooner'' could be a good shout.
