I think it's because so many high profile people are caught up in the mess and cover up (redknapp, scudermore, FA Bods etc), and anything revealed would bring the entire English game into disrepute.

Matthew Kilgallon for me.

Hudders are away at brighton when we play away at brentford. I feel there is a slip up in the hudders/pboro run ins - but it may not come in the most obvious fixtures. I remember posts before we played Norwich away last year ''we'll be thumped'' ''they'll **** us'' etc.......
-
They have no real rivalry, so they are trying so desperately to create one. It's the same with Bournemouth as it also was with Reading. There is only one real rivalry on the South coast, all the others are pretty insignificant to us to be honest.

Absolutely. It doesn't help when you're hindered with an injury at the start of the season too, that's prob cost him at least 10 goals. Last season he was up in the charts with Drogba and Rooney, yet funnily enough they have both had low scoring seasons (compared to last) too. I think the efforts of last season for the likes of Lambo/Rooney/Drogba etc will hit back at you physically as they've all struggled fitness wise. He'll still get 20 IMO which is a great return. -
It really isn't a disgrace. I don't get these posts. Claridge is fair and always has been. For some reason we want praise from every single pundit, if it's not forthcoming they're ****s....!
-
I see no reason why we can't go there and get all 3 points. We had a game against Norwich last season, they hadn't lost at home in god knows how long, were top of the table as champions elect and we went away 2-0 winners. We've shown this season to perform better against the ''better'' teams, so I'm pretty confident. A defeat wouldn't be a disaster but it would put a lot of pressure on our remaining games.
-
Yep, we won't see him for a while. Agree with Connolly too - let's just hope he lasts it....as we all know he's made of glass! Good player to have up your sleeve though but our squad is looking very very very stretched at the wrong time.

A game to forget in terms of action/performance, but it was an enormous win - especially with the results around us. (I had hudders down to drop points today, buggers) Barnard won't play again this season, not with an injury like that. He's prob done his ligaments - was in total agony. No idea what's up with Lallana though? Surprised it wasn't mentioned in the post-match interview, so I think it's safe to assume he's had another recurrence. Worrying times with all these injuries.... Special mention to Connolly who was outstanding - great player to have up your sleeve. -
Totally, as Adkins says...draw a line, and onto the next one. Win that, couple of teams do us a favour and we're laughing. If we don't win on Saturday then that is the time to start worrying.
-
Bit of a knee-jerk really.
-
There is, but I expect us to respond well. All good teams do - Beware brizzle.... With Hudders away at Charlton too things could look very nice on Saturday afternoon. It's hard to know what to think of tonight's result, it's very frustrating but I don't feel it's doom and gloom. It's still very much on.
-
Really frustrating. Still totally in our hands though and I expect things to look a hell lot better on Saturday evening. Hudders are away @ Charlton.

Rochdale V Southampton - First Half and Half Time Thread

Sounds pretty rubbish tbf. It was always going to be a really tricky game, and a defeat still isn't the ''end of the world'' at all. Just makes it a little more difficult! but that's the saints way... -
Yeah - Chappers at the mo is awful, but he's got talent so you have to work through those bad spells and get the best out of him again.
-
Bit harsh saying that Chappers and Hammond are ''def'' not good enough. They clearly are as they've preformed at that level before and have done well for Brighton and Burnley respectively. Hammond has been putting in proper captains performances for a while now. TBH I agree with the view of not changing too much. We have a great team spirit and togetherness at the moment - on top of talent such as Lallana, Fonte, Lambo, Barnard etc - we're already equip t to do well. The only 2 positions I'd say are worth looking at would be a CB (younger version of Jaidi as you said) and another striker who's done it at the level above etc. as we'll prob lose Connolly.
-
Nigel has managed the entire squad brilliantly, the best i've witnessed for years. That's contributed to the best team spirit for years. No one is coming out moaning about their lack of games as everyone gets a chance, at the right times. And the way Adkins dealt with the Puncheon situation was brilliant. ''Get out of the building, and don't come back onto the bus"
-
A defeat wouldn't be a disaster and end our season, a draw would be a good effort and would keep us out in front - but a win would be amazing and we'd almost be over the line.
-
I agree with that DD. 12 points from 21 is actually a dip in form too.....so if we continue as we have done since Christmas i'd say we'll prob get around 17-19 points.
-
play offs at the moment is a very unlikely scenario. It will take a serious dip in form for us to miss out on 2nd. (Our form would need to return to the Wilkins period) We got 10 points from the last 4 games. We now have 7 games to get 15 points (But i still think 11/12 will be enough...) Over the last 7 games we have accumulated 19 points, the 7 games before that we accumulated 14 points and the 7 games before that we got 13 points. See what I'm getting at....? And those groups of 7 games include defeats at the likes of Tranmere/Wallsall etc. So we even have the luxury of being able to drop a point or two (not saying we will)
-
As long as we win our remaining home games (which I expect us to do tbf) then IMO we'd only need another 3 points from our remaining 4 away games. That would give us a season total of 86...
-
When we're comfortable in 2nd (not just in there by GD) then we can start looking in front of us. At the moment it's still very much about us keeping an eye on what's behind us.
-
Not a chance. Let's just concentrate on 2nd..
-
wtf? Bizzare. I remember posters saying Bale isn't all that and he'd get found out. He's now one of the best players in Europe.
