  1. I think he see's Dicko as more of a LM, rather than a LB.
  2. We want to compete, but Promotion isn't the be-all and end all this year. It's about assembling (and retaining) a squad of players that can challenge at the top of this league, and have the potential to grow into premiership players - so they can be together for a long period of time. We followed this method to the letter when we were in L1, and we're doing it again now. We'll give it a good go this year, for sure - but if we don't make it this time round I won't start crying, I'll just look forward to our title challenge next season!
  3. Sod it, let's buy all 3.
  4. How is he 5th choice????? All the 4 midfielders will play an even amount of games this year IMO - Deano and Cork will be the preferred 2, but all 4 will play quite a lot.
  5. I think we've shown we're willing to spend significant amounts regardless of Chambo's situation, as we bid 3.25m for Billy Sharp.
  6. Adkins, believe it or not, has been looking for a LB since the close of last season. We tried for Aaron Cressell (Former tranmere, went to Ipswich I believe) but that didn't come off, so I'm really not surprised to see us sign one. Harding has been terrific for us, but he doesn't have any real competition if I'm honest. I see Dicko as more of an Left Mid, that's where Adkins has played him alot of the time. Mills will be off before the close of the window, so Adkins felt that Harding needed some real competition - and boy has he got it now. It's great that we can have 2 quality players for each position, it's just brilliant.
  7. Both good players, but both players with questionable injury records. But this club would be perfect for either in that respect. I'd say SEB is the powerful CF that you could do with in this league, whereas Nicky is the more pacy, on the shoulder type centre forward. I'm pretty sure either can get 20 goals in this league, easy, so I'd be happy with either If I'm totally honest. We're shopping right at the top of our market.
  8. We were always going to leave this move until later in the window. Let's see how this pans out.
  9. It was one game, the majority of Burnley fans rate him as the best LB in the league.
  10. He's one of the best LB's in the league, it's an upgrade on Harding who i'm a fan of - but you can't pass up the chance to sign better players in positions. Striker next..

    Leage 1

Hudds fans are already calling for Lee Clark's head after their draw at the weekend with Bury!
  12. Interesting from Adkins tonight, it's the first time he's been questioned since the sale has gone through. ''He's a terrific lad, and he's now moved to Arsenal so we move on and look to the future. The Charmian has managed to be reimbursed with a very fair amount. ''What deals are going on in the background have not changed, what was going to happen will still happen even though Chamberlain has gone. Those deals would have happened anyway, we'll continue to do it quietly"

I have always kept an eye across all the leagues tbh. Lots of pressure on Hudds this year.
  14. Should be fine to book in advance and arrange collection at the ticket office. Doubt it will be a sell out either. Good to see you coming over!
  15. It's totally pathetic really. They've not got any control over this, and it's quite scary if I'm honest. Who knows where this could lead, as it's totally and utterly out of control.
  16. This is seriously horrendous stuff going on. I really feel for the people that live in london, and their livelihoods are just going up in flames for no reason what so ever.
  17. Don't forget that there was also money to spend before this lump sum from Arsenal. (as demonstrated by the 3.5m bid for Sharp)
  18. He will never ever play for us again. Hopefully his move will be wrapped up soon.
  19. The Guardian are wrong.
  20. Theo was up to £12m iirc, but we only saw £5m of that initially, and we decided to cut it short and finish the deal at 9m anyway. The majority of that deal was add on based and it would have taken years to ever see 12m in full. Bale was a snip for Spurs though in the grand scheme of things.
  21. He's a very intelligent player, not quite sure I like him up top though...looked a little out of sorts there, I much preferred him on the right running at players.
  22. I think a few fair of them have started to acknowledge that we were very good, and it's nice to see the media appreciating this as well. They weren't great, but we were a couple of gears above them.
  23. I think the difference will be demonstrated when we significantly re-invest the money in new players, which is imminent.
  24. If i were the club I'd get Ward-Prose and Luke Shaw signed up on long-term deals. They are subject of increasing interest from top level scouts - terrific talents, and the next 2 to come through.
  25. Spot on. Although the reports in the media and the PA aren't going to help negotiations!
