  1. just saw that, blimey. You have to hand it to holloway, what a truly epic job he's done there.
  2. Wednesday 0 - 1 Yeovil good so far...
  3. Surprised there isn't another thread on this. A few games going on tonight that will affect us. Tuesday, 25 January 2011 Brighton v Colchester, 19:45 Hartlepool v Notts County, 19:45 Leyton Orient v MK Dons, 19:45 Sheff Wed v Yeovil, 19:45 Swindon v Tranmere, 19:45 Walsall v Oldham, 19:45 currently 2-1 to Leyton Orient, rest are still 0-0
  4. It's going to screw up sky sports ''20 years'' celebrations......seeing as most of their celebration footage includes Gray! I'd expect Gray to be picked up by a station in Dubai with the other former Sky Sports presenter...
  5. They were desperate for new blood though as they had a pretty demoralised starting 11 that was pretty stale. Ours is good and doesn't need too many changes, although 1 or 2 new faces wouldn't be bad. Not totally desperate though IMO as long as Chambo stays.
  6. TBF Hypo i'd rather believe what came out of Cortese's mouth (we're not being sold, we have a solid 5 year plan) rather than randomerrs posting on forums and 606.
  7. Good signing for Wednesday. but you can't help but think they're ''signing'' too many players...
  8. The club isn't for sale. and he's kind of made himself look stupid by saying there will be no more transfer activity until this is sorted. (oh but of course they'll mangage to push through the sale of Chambo, who's having a medical tomorrow!!!!) He's ignored the fact that we've signed Chaplow, Guly and tied Lallana down to long term deals.
  9. Same, gutted for him as he missed the Man U game back in 2008 due to Injury too.
  10. He won't be avaliable this weekend as they've said he's out for 2-3 weeks, should be ready for Carlisle though.
  11. no idea, just picked it up from another football forum.
  12. I think this is now all we need to know on the subject. He's ours! ...apparently ''OFFICIAL Charlie Austin has been anounced on Southampton radio to join Southampton for a deal reported to be 1.5 million plus connoly and lee holmes may be apart of the deal OFFICIAL NEWS YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!'' Not a bad deal really , getting a good player and getting the other club to take 2 of our injured players in the process. This Cortese isn't stupid.
  13. I think BWP is injured at the mo anyway. He failed his medical at reading, so they may not get too many games from the guy.
  14. At least swindon fans have a sense of humour ''Don't shoot the messenger but a reliable source who normally gets this sort of **** right says that Austin is going to join either Arsenal, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers Barnsley, Bristol City, Burnley, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Crystal Palace, Derby County, Doncaster Rovers, Harlem Globetrotters, Hull City, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, S****horpe United, Sheffield United, Swansea City, Watford, Southampton or Celtic. Deal should be concluded by Wednesday.''
  15. I must admit I always saw Theo as a central striker and was frustrated at Arsenal's use of him as a wide man at the beginning, as it think his strengths are playing on the shoulder of the CB through the middle. He's got 10 goals this season from playing in that position, not too bad really. He's developed a bit slower than you'd have thought, but you can't say arsenal have ruined him.
  16. i thought saints took that page down?
  17. I'd imagine this will be merged or locked in a sec, but he'd probably prefer us as his family live here. I don't think he'd like to move too far away according to things I've heard in recent weeks.
  18. There was a quote somewhere in an article saying that his brother is ''as good, if not better''. Not sure how true that is.
  19. Llloyd foot is by all accounts the next ''big thing'' to come off our production line. There are massive massive hopes for him as a future captain. Nice interview too.
  20. I saw him first hand when we thumped p'boro 4-1 and i felt sorry for him, as he was their best player by a mile. Gave us problems all afternoon with his pace and direct running. Seemed much more to his game than just a poacher. I think thats what we lack up top...someone with real pace to play on the shoulder of a CB.
  21. Exactly thorpie. I'll be sad to see him go, but we should be ok without him as i'm sure we'll reinvest a few mill. in transfer fees over the next year or so. I'd imagine a fair bit of the lump sump will go back into the acadamy too, which is also great news. That's what we haven't been able to do in recent years, with all the money we've got for our youngesters it hasn't really helped make the club stronger. It will now.
  22. I may be wrong on this, but Mackail-Smith can also be deployed as a winger (i'm sure he's played wide for Posh)
  23. Exactly alps. That's why i'm a little bit more accepting of this potential move, as we all know that the money is going straight to the club. Not into the company to be eaten up in the shareholdings. I'd fully expect a large sum to be made available to Adkins straight away.
  24. this guy is the real deal. Full of pace and caused us lots of problems when we played them. Blackpool want/wanted to sign him too....this will be as much of a coup as Austin.
  25. Reminds me of the lead up to Rickie Lambert signing. Sunday night...popped up on a rovers forum that he was down here for a medical, and by lunchtime on Monday he was signed. Let's hope this follows suit.
