Sounds identical to the Gary Monk 'story'.

Weird! I guess it was possibly part of their newspaper rumour roundup. Newcastle are interested in him along with us though.

Newcastle have had a confirmed bid of 8m, according to the burnley forum

£4m swoop for Burnley duo Rodriguez and Fox?
S-Clarke replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
I'd imagine alot of the deal is based on add on's. If we get promoted they get so much, if he scores so many goals/makes so many apps/plays an international etc. The up-front fee will end up being alot lower than the 7.5m -

£7.5m will get him, shame that we have real competition for him now though. -
Well Morgan and Cork are playing better at the moment, and seemed to have developed a good understanding. So for me, that's the midfield 2 for the foreseeable. Morgan will get a chance, but it shows what great competition we have here.

Will Saints still be Top of the League after todays games
S-Clarke replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Cardiff already 2-0 up, and 1 more goal will put them top. -
They sound resigned to losing him if I'm honest.

Rumour going around that Warnock has been sacked, could screw this deal up.
-
He's a total hypocrite, living on borrowed time. He'll walk IMO.

I prefer going back 2 years, Bottom of L1 by 10 points, not much of a team, selling our best young talent......and then in comes NC and Markus, and from that moment we've never looked back.
-
I think the main difference in our play this season is Cork, his presence alone has taken us up another level.
-
Agree with that. We're up against a proven championship striker on Tuesday, the first time we've had such a threat this season. So it will be interesting to see how we cope.
-
I heard it was slightly down on last season, not sure if true or not.

He's a great fit for us in that respect. NC is a very forward thinking Chairman and wants to embrace all of the sport science/football development side of things, I think you find some managers don't like that and want to do it their own old fashioned way. I think this was some of the issue with Pardew. With Adkins he embraces it, he's a forward thinking manager and very modern in his approach to everything which is exactly what this club needs at the moment. The players look as fit and trim as I've seen them for a long time, and this pre-seasons has benefited from being arranged by a former physio. He knows what he's on about when it comes to player conditioning.
-
He's definitely added more of an aggressive element to his game. I watched him play for WBA on a few occasions (my dad is a baggies supporter) and he was often the energetic midfielder, bursting into the box, scoring goals and spraying the passes left to right. A technically outstanding player in those days - he's still got that in him, but this dirty edge to his game goes a bit too far these days.
-
Been told the same as well, they're baffled they're trying to sell him. Apparently he's the perfect partner for Fonte too, comfortable on either side of defense and throws his body on the line, wins 90% of the headers and does all the dirty work etc. So a younger Jaidi in that respect. Their loss is our gain..hopefully.

straight red, no arguments. Really poor from Chappers.

We're in a great position really, as you said Bristol City have the fear of losing Maynard on a free, so I expect them to cash in nearer the end of the window, as his value will just decrease from now. Burnley seem to have a price on all of their players heads, which is good for us. Jay Rod will move to us if we offer Burnley what they want, which isn't too much more than we've already offered. Remember, Brendon flood from Burnley is the guy that said Eagles and Mears wern't for sale....then 2 days later they were sold for £3m.
-
Apparently he's handed in a transfer request according to the Bristol City forums. Will be interesting to see if he plays tomorrow.
-
This will be our toughest game so far, the toughest game for our centre backs too as they have a real classy championship CF to contend with in Chorpa. They've not really had a massive defensive test thus far. They've bought well this year, but as we all know, lots of new signings can be negative initially....and with the fans expectations now through the roof, they could get on their backs quite quickly if things aren't going their way.
-
That ship has sailed, we got the best out of him.

lol @ warnock ''It was a bad result, but i'd rather be playing here than going to places like Portsmouth''
