  1. When you have to explain your 'joke' not just once, but twice, it kind of suggests you've lost the room. Shouldn't this have just gone into the normal transfer thread? These threads should be reserved for when players are close to signing.
  2. Wolves have history of having a budget to spend on Mendes Portuguese players though, and not much else. Nelson Semedo, Ruben Neves (when they were in the champ), Guedes, Fabio Silva to name a few. These deals are all about mendes getting his Portuguese talent in a big league, pocketing an agent fee in the process with the potential of a greater one in the future. It has always felt a bit fishy really, it's not like they ever spend big money on anyone who isn't a Mendes man. Where that budget comes from is anyone's guess.
  3. I smell wum. 4 posts, all throwing vitriol at Che.
  4. I still can't get my head around why they'd want him, would be a weird one. Broja is done as far as I'm concerned. I don't see any way back for him here given Ralph's comments in the fans forum last week.
  5. Fofana kicking off saying Leicester are pricing him out of a move. It's his 'dream' to play for Chelsea as Drogba played for them, and Drogba was born in his hometown. Tenuous to say the least. If only players were honest and said they were going for the money and Champions league fame.
  6. Leicester stick out like a sore thumb in that list. And Brighton have 80m burning a hole in their back pocket.
  7. even more impressive!
  8. I think we’ve got more than we ever thought we’d get out of Jack, I think he cost us 100k from Plymouth. And to be fair he's somewhat achieved great things from a humble beginning. I doubt many would have put him for playing PL football (and making 70 odd apps in the PL). He's a good lad to have around, but in this league you need more than just good lads. If he does go I hope he’s a success at Watford, he's served his purpose here and more than repaid our investment in him. I don't think he's ever really going to be a PL CB, but if he plays regular in the Championship he'll probably be seen as a good player for that level. He’s certainly a good character and a good sort, but in the end it boils down to quality and he doesn't have the required quality to help us.
  9. That's terrible luck! £30m down the drain.
  10. Talk about totally missing the context in order to make a point. The cynical side of me is wondering if she has deliberately ignored the context in order to create 'outrage'. It was quite clear - he was talking about the Premier League, which is a mens league, full of teams with men. Hopefully the criticism is shut down quickly, because it's nonsense like this that is doing my head in with the world right now.
  11. Bonkers when they already have better. Not sure what their plan is this summer, feels very scattergun. Like someone said above, Ziyech and Pulusic and probably CHO if given game time are all on a different stratosphere than Antony bloody gordon.
  12. He was decent in an attacking sense in the second half, but if we are up against quality and he has to defend then we are in big trouble. Kuvuleski ripped him to pieces at Spurs, and teams will naturally target him as an obvious weak link. I really don't think we should be persevering with him as a defender in all truth.
  13. We could even do them a never-to-be-seen again prime day deal, Redmond and Elyounoussi thrown in for free. Rodgers will probably lap that up given that they were linked to Elyonoussi recently.
  14. Has similarities of Fulham signing Jean Michael-Seri when they got promoted.
  15. When he refuses to play for us in an FA Cup game because his priority is Poland, then yes, I'd say he does deserve a lot of the grief he gets. Surprised he's still here after that incident.
  16. It would be strange, he was on the bench for City y/day. (Maybe an effort by them to show that he'll get chances there)
  17. What I'd say with Bednarek is that his errors aren't always born out of the system or shape we play, he has terrible positional sense and his lack of ability to read or sense danger kills us. But there is also the added issue in that we play an active way, in either 5 or 4 at the back. This will lead to situations whereby the centre backs are exposed and his attributes mean that he'll never, ever be suited to that which is why he tries to commit early and then falls flat on his arse. If we play a 4 or a 3, you will often see Bednarek done by an attacker who is a yard ahead of him in mind. I think we will automatically look a lot better with ABK and Salisu in a pair. If we can get some money for Bednarek then we should snap whoever's hand off.
  18. He's someone I didn't really think about, but when you look at the fact he probably wants to play regular football now (he's 25) and Shields originally brought him to the City Academy - then it could be someone we are genuinely perusing, with the promise of him being the main man. I'm not sure he's an 'out and out' striker as such, strikes me as more of a supporting forward, but he can certainly score goals if given a run. He's got his mate Aribo here too. I think he'd be about £20m, but Leicester may see him as one of their more expendable players who can give them an immediate cash flow without having to sell their 'stars'. (Although i still think Fofana is off)
  19. He's never really been given a run anywhere if you look at it. The best run he's had at Leicester was during project restart if I remember, and he was banging the goals in. Then Leicester went and bought Daka and still didn't give him a chance to play regular in the new season. He strikes he as a player who is crying out for regular football to settle down and show his ability. He's well liked at Leicester and one of their complaints with Rodgers is that he doesn't play him enough. Kinda similar situation to Jesus who seems to have benefited from going to a club and being seen as the main man.
  20. Jeez...
  21. Never heard of Jackson, reading some articles it suggests this is his breakthrough season in the first team over there (he's made 1 app and already scored). He seems to be a wide right attacking mid sort of player, as opposed to an out and out striker though. Which a supposed £28m release clause....
  22. It could be quite an unsettling week for Leicester off the pitch. The pictures released y/day after the match showed Fofana waving and standing on his own looking at their fans, something brewing there. Tiliemans is expected to leave as well, rumours are that Arsenal will push next week for that one. Impossible to say who they'll have in their 11 come Saturday. We just need to go the way we finished the Leeds game, support the forwards with more attacking players close to them. Who knows, we may even have a new one by the time this game comes around.

    Che Adams

That's exactly it, but the prob is they look hopeless when they've got no runners to lay off to (hence the first half struggles). I think Stu Armstrong was the only one trying to break the line in the first half. I'm not sure what Elyounoussi thought he was trying to do. We do need a proper focal centre forward, that will stop us having to shoehorn Adams and Armstrong into these loan striker roles.
  24. They don't get away with it from their own fans! Sancho being labelled as their worst ever signing, and they all want shot of Rashford. Both of them are so far away from the england squad right now.
  25. It was a good cameo from him, he used his pace and the space behind their sleepy full backs to great effect. I don't think he'll ever be a capable centre forward in this league, basically due to his physicality, but in a 3 playing wider of a main man could be an option to have around the squad.
