  1. They didn't, they said to make choices - which is fair. Make your own judgements on what you feel is right and wrong etc. The thing is the big corps etc feel pressured into showing the way, so they're binning all their do's. The general tone is to be sensible, but the problem is the media and the crying scientists trying to instil the mother of all fear into everyone - which is what's making them feel they've been told to avoid everything. It's about a judgement choice in terms of what you feel is right.

    Coronavirus

I guess they feel that they have to give notice, that's why there is always a gap from when it's announced to when it actually happens. It doesn't help it make any sense though, I agree. What also doesn't make any sense are the calls from Sturgeon for everyone to 'stay at home', yet she'll happily encourage hundreds and hundreds of people to queue round the block in the cold, in big crowds, not distanced, in order to get a jab. Don't go to B&M though.

That's the one I was thinking of then. But either way, the definitions are seriously skewed and are open to massive media manipulation. (and government manipulation).
  4. They'll be setting their sights much much higher than Armstrong. Dembele for a start, maybe Ali.
  5. That's the key point right there, we don't attack them well enough. They are usually put in the right areas and with good pace, but we don't have a huge presence. We had a much better set piece record last year because we had Vestergaaard in the side, he towered above everyone and we had a presence. Stick JWP in a team with Halland up top and I reckon he'd get loads of assists.

I think it's always been 28 days hasn't it? Might be wrong. But either way those definitions are waffle really, as they have always been. They're not giving the true picture and the media are as guilty for portraying them falsely. People will contract this new variant, either in hospital or outside of hospital. Based on those definitions you could be hit by a bus, get taken into hospital for operations on your leg...yet test positive for covid during you stay and thus became a number of patients with COVID in hospital, and that in my eyes is a totally false representation.
  7. there does seem something off with Stu. We had weird reports in the summer that he was being linked to a return back north, but they went quiet. He's been injured all season but has weirdly played for Scotland more than he has for us. Something isn't right whether it's his fitness or something else behind the scenes. It's a shame because he's our only decent driving number 10, and if he does go then we'll need to spend big to replace him (which we won't)
  8. I'm totally with you on what you say. I think MLT goes a bit too far though a lot of the time and gives himself a bit of a reputation, he jumps too far to the 'bill gates has microchipped' everyone angle, but on this specific video it does seem as if some haven't really bothered to listen what he said. I do think there needs to be an investigation into the cardiac situation. I myself had a cardiac reaction to my first dose of AZ, collapsed the night after I had it with horrible tight chest and palpations. Went to the hospital, they did tests and whilst they saw there was an irregularity at the time they could never pin point the cause and thus I was let go and I've been fine since. I don't think they looked deep enough though and they really weren't interested in me saying I'd had the vaccination 12 hrs earlier, it was like I was speaking a foreign language whenever I mentioned it. I'd also agree with the way the reporting is strung out. The 'with' and 'of' are very key definitions in the data and that needs to be made clear - but it isn't. As John Campbell eloquently put (i think it was him) - everyone who goes into hospital for any condition at the moment is very likely to have the virus or at least contract it in hospital due to the spread of the virus. I don't think the government are painting a clear picture, they seem to be playing the fear game rather than being fully transparent in my eyes. All we see is fear, fear, fear, panic, panic, panic. We're not being given the full picture to make reasoned choices ourselves. The point about the South African lady is an interesting one - she hasn't got much mainstream airtime at all, but as soon as she did feature on ITV they were quick to really dismiss it in the gov press conferences.
  9. As expected. Won't be back until mid-jan in my opinion. Works perfect for Newcastle, they'll have an entirely new team by the next time they play.
  10. He's done his trade at a 'lower fodder' club (Sheffield United). I can see him turning up at somewhere like West Ham (if they don't sign Areola) or Spurs as a replacement for Lloris.
  11. Spurs v Leicester is off tonight. Feels somewhat inevitable that it will have to be paused across all, otherwise there are some unfair advantages being given during what is a busy period usually.
  12. I thought he was fairly frustrating last night, but I'd agree in that over the course of the season he has been our best 'number 10' by an absolute mile. Granted, the standard isn't too high, but credit where it's due. Mid-table would be a great effort, I think think we need to align our expectations to be battling relegation for most though - but hopefully have enough to pull away come the end.
  13. Agreed. If that happens I think they'll go full hog and we'll see a break until January in my opinion. Shame really as I love the Christmas fixtures. It'll remove the mass gatherings of people as well which the government want to avoid.
  14. This is my worry, games where we play fairly well in we're still not winning. We don't look comfortable in any game, no matter how well we play. Lots of draws, lots of points thrown away after playing well. We're not seeing it over the line when we deserve to win. My concern is what happens when we have a dip in form and stop actually playing well at all, as all teams go through.
  15. Not sure why we bother, it offers nothing. Might as well do a short throw to the corner flag and at least play for a corner or something. I'm not sure what Salisu shows in training, but i've seen nothing in game that suggests he should go out of position to produce a throw in that achieves nothing.
  16. ''If you're going to a stadium this weekend, make sure you are also getting jabbed or at least helping the effort. Don't just go there for the event''. That was the exact quote, and somewhat bonkers I thought too given that you wouldn't get that happening at stadiums where a game is on. The government are so out of touch with how life works.
  17. Good point raised about the goal keeping distribution, certainly something I've noticed as well. Seems to be playing a lot more long, which are more accurate - as opposed to McCarthy's which just went out of play.
  18. I didn't think Lyanco was bad either. He does worry me at times though, he's very rash and over emotional at times. Prone to getting caught by diving in for challenges he shouldn't as he's over keen. Makes me nervous in that sense, but he was ok tonight.
  19. Ah not stu, was referring to Adam Armstrong. Not really expecting to see Stu anytime soon, feels like one of those random unexplained never-ending absences!
  20. We've got to win this one, but you know we'll somehow contrive to drop points in a typically infuriating way. Be interesting to see how the squad looks - I wonder if we'll have Armstrong back? I don't think he was too far away today, so he may start to replace Smallbone in the squad (2 games in a few days would be a bit too much for him, imo)
  21. I can't really moan about the subs today, they made sense and were around the right times. The attack was fading, so we wanted to freshen it up. Granted it didn't make us any better but there wasn't much to go with on the bench today. In the circumstances I don't know what else he could have done sub wise, including timings. They just had a bit better quality on their bench which impacted the game, i.e Olise and Benteke.
  22. I like how we attempt to play and I agree with the approach, you've summed it up perfectly there though - we don't really have the level of quality or right sort of player to execute it correctly, that's why it's all a bit fits and starts.
  23. I've watched him in recent weeks and I see someone a bit hurried, he panics and is starting to hack clearances into the air if you've noticed. He's getting on the wrong side of attackers and being done in the box, he's diving in too late and giving away fouls. He's certainly not faultless defensively and has been a contributor to some of the goals we've let in. He's only 18 though, would be daft not to expect him to have a drop off. We need to give him a break for his own sake though.
  24. We still carried somewhat of a threat with Tella on the pitch, but I think the problem we had is that they tired. The subs were just ineffective really.
  25. Defensively really, really sloppy in the last 6 weeks in my eyes. Bit nullified in attack too, but still quality on the ball when he does have it. Needs a rest in my eyes, not sure why we don't give him one.
