If we can get a decent fee for Obafemi that may allow us a little more room re: a loan fee.... Ah, I'm glad there's something to follow in the closing hours. Albeit incredibly far fetched.

'Apparently' Weston McKinnie has been offered out to clubs, Burnley one of the clubs in particular. It will be a loan deal. Ticks a lot of boxes for us. 1) we were interested before, 2) it's a loan....3) it's a midfielder 4) if Burnley can potentially afford it... If Burnley get him on loan and we don't then that would be a bit perplexing. Could be one of those classic twitterphere non-rumours though.

It's newcastle. They're trying.

Not sure what she's moaning about, another of those ultra needy women by the looks of it. You can't even tell the difference.

Wiltshire training with Como. Low end Serie B club. Nice place though, I'd happily live there. Apparently Dennis Wise is their technical director so that's how he's ended up there.

Agreed, he's got himself a gig on TalkSport as well now for being some sort of Transfer source. Frauds everywhere.

Sky have ruined it. Their coverage of the entire Mbappe thing says it all really ''Sky Sports news UNDERSTANDS that Real Madrid will not be moving for Mbappe in this window'' 10 mins later... ''Sky sports news UNDERSTANDS that there may be a chance that Real Madrid increase their office for Mbappe'' They have no idea what they're on about, bogus sources all over the shop to create drama and viewers. Their two 'ITK' transfer people are nothing more than twitter followers (SuperSaint - you could have their job!)

I guess that gives us another option wide right, as well as right back. We made the mistake last window of loaning out players at the last min, thus leaving us with no cover. Think we've learnt our lessons. We've got enough in front of Valery in that he shouldn't be required that often, but it's nice to have further options beyond the obvious, otherwise we'd have to pull apart midfield and shoe-horn again. And we don't have enough in midfield to weaken that area. This is also probably an admission that we're not getting that number 6.

The McCarthy chat is boring already. We've got him this season, he is our number 1 for this season. There is nothing we can do about it. Do we really have to deal with this debate after every goal conceded? ''It was his fault'' or every save he makes ''It wasn't that good'' or ''McCarthy is in the team???'' on every squad announcement?

It's happening. He's having a medical at the mo, guaranteed fee is more around £25m apparently with the rest in add-ons. Sheer lunacy. £15m is the absolute max I'd pay for him, and that would be including add-ons. Leeds fans are of the same belief, they're all a bit gobsmacked that they've turned down Internationals such as Rodrigo De Paul as £20m was too much - yet they're about to splash £30m on this load of averagness.
-
Yep, agreed. It's baffled me this year. I thought this would be the year there was a little bit of leveling out, not as much movement - clubs proclaiming massive losses due to no fans etc. Yet, somehow...we've had the most expensive ever British transfer, closely followed by the 2nd most expensive British transfer ever, Ronaldo rejoining Man Utd and being paid more than anyoen else in the league. Then almost unheard of under the Gold/Sullivan era....West Ham spending just under £60m without selling. All very odd. Everton have behaved like I'd have expected a lot of clubs to behave.
-
I think we were ruled out of that one yesterday. I don't expect any permanent signings, I think we're done. Keeping our powder dry until the summer so we can actually buy a goalkeeper when we have a bit of wage free and no need to sell first.
-
That is a crazy fee for him, they could get much better value looking at someone like Doku. Obviously they've held a long standing interest in him after Swansea's shitshow back in 2019. But that is just too much money. Sometimes, when you see fees like that being batted around on bog standard average players, you kind of appreciate our approach.

It's his third season. I think most fans can see a good player when they see one, I'd say the majority of fans saw that with Mane but there were a small selection of those who didn't. So don't throw around the ''I'm a better fan than you'' bullshit. I'm not doubting his work rate or his effort for the team, that's clearly there. What I am questioning is his actual ability to make the difference in the key moments. In his third season we are still having the same debates about him, the 'he is young' calls are now no longer relevant - so why does he still struggle to control his feet? Why is his brain not in sync with the rest of his body? We all want him to be successful but after 3 seasons we are faced with the same issues.

Wouldn't describe myself as one of those, not at all. He's not great, but that doesn't deny the fact that you're getting your knickers in a twist here and confusing all sorts of points. He came on, assisted 1-1 and 2-2 (thought it was Elyonoussi who got the 2nd assist, but it wasn't - it was Redmond) The assist for the first is what we are always crying out for him to do, commit, run and cross. He did it and it got us a goal. Not a fan of him, we need to do better, but to discredit his involvement yesterday is daft.

West Ham have found their cheque book. Hot on the heals of Zouma... Weren't we linked with this guy a few months back? A lot of money for someone who was shipped out of this league 2 years ago. BREAKING NEWS West Ham are close to agreeing a £25million deal to sign CSKA Moscow and Croatia attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic.
-
It strikes me as there are people who are keen to microanaylse every goal to see where he is at fault, and in the same breath downplay any save he makes. All a bit odd really.
-
He'd be daft to pass that one up, could be a good opportunity for him. He needs to take his blinkers off and stop aiming for the 'top', his top level career is done and is in the bin. It's a shame as he obviously had a lot of talent, but he didn't look after himself well enough and the injuries are just chronic. If he wants to play then clubs like Wigan are probably a fair shout.
-
I wonder if Elyounoussi could provide that role you refer to? (the number 10, in behind type). I wouldn't call him a winger as he doesn't have the pace to be a pure wide man, but I've noticed he takes up good positions and finds good pockets of space - I think it was him who played in Moussa in the area from a central position. (the 2nd chance). Jury is obviously still out, but if he's used his time at Celtic to develop as a player then I think there is something there.
-
Yeah, that's a fair observation. We need to be clever in the 10 position with the ball though, finding those gaps. The trick with a 3 is to tease them out and then be on the shoulder, either wide or centrally. Credit to Redmond as he came on and did that, he made telling passes which split the back 3 - notably the one which won the penalty. I know from the outside Moussa was exciting to watch, looked like he was involved etc, but he wasn't looking for those passes and he was just running into blind allies all the time. Ideally it should have been him playing the ball to Armstrong on that 'on one one' chance he had. But he just kept popping up all over the place like an uncontrolled pocket rocket.
-
You seem very confused.
-
He has good movement, as shown by the winning pen, but he spent a lot of his time outside of the box today - probably to try and find space as they had a back 3. So he wasn't as effective. He does like to take a shot at any stage, can't complain at that I guess as you never know what could happen - but there are sometimes better options, needs to get his head up. Personally, I like him. He's not going to hit the levels of Ings, but he adds good pace and movement to our attack similar to Ings - he just won't get the same return, which is why we need others to muck in a bit.
-
Yeah, those comments were ridiculous. Ralph had Bruce's number all game, he tactically outdone him. We were just let down by our finishing in the main, simple as that. But tactically Bruce was nowhere near.
-
To be fair to Redmond, he impacted the game when he came on with in effect two assists. But the reality is none of those 3 are really good enough, we need a better winger/number 10 type if we are to be really successful. I think we all want Moussa to be successful as he's a likeable character, but this is his third season and bar two goals in the first month of him being here in 2019 he has been fairly hopeless sadly. All legs and no brain is probably a fair review of his time.
