To be fair to Jeff, he's pretty knowledgeable and onboard with us too - I think his son's (or one of them) supports us and he lives in this area. But rumours today is that he's set to be next and they're ditching Jeff too.

I don't disagree with you at all. Your views aren't racist, sexist or homophobic or whatever else is out there, but this is what will be labelled at anyone with a differing view now days. Welcome to the world post 2020. This is now where we live. Enjoy.

Wonder where Zaha is off to? This is obviously a straight replacement for him.
-
Scott Minto now gone in addition to these three. Thought he was actually a very good presenter for their EFL coverage.
-
Decent, so potentially something around 10-12m from Fulham then in the next couple of days. Just Hoedt and Carrillo to go....we could get to £20m!
-
Yeah they've said he'll be loaned out for next season to gain 'experience'. They haven't said where, maybe back to Nice.
-
We're pretty secretive over everything to be honest, have been for years and years. It's just how we operate.

There is certainly one too many goalkeepers on our books. Forster, Gunn and McCarthy would be unfeasible to keep at a club like Saints, and also unfair to top level professionals. I think the main reason Fraser is staying is because he knows he's on a good deal here, 80k p/w apparently, no one in their right mind would ever match that. So, why not just knuckle down at the club paying you that and see where you go. I wouldn't want to see McCarthy dropped though or leave, the one I expect to go is Gunn. He's still got a decent contract, so throw him out on loan for the year as a number 1...then if he finds his potential we've either got a new No.1 or someone we can get our money back on.

To be fair they absolutley battered them, Ely had a good game. They just didn't have anyone clinical as Edouard was 'injured.' (He's the one I reckon Lennon is commenting on)
-
Yeah I think this fella wanted massive wages from the get go. I doubt our interest ever got over the initial 'feelers' stage to be honest.

It's honestly driving me insane now, just wanted to post reaction to the Sky Sports 'sackings' and it's taken me about an hour to even get close to this page. This is like the days of pre ADSL back in the early 2000's. Shouldn't be like this. I've used so many forums over the years, and I still do, and I've never seen one react or respond like this one. Is it the forum (i've used other Invision boards) or is it the AWS backend causing the issues? Has it been overcomplicated maybe? As you mentioned there are now multiple servers to scale up and scale down etc. Is it worth just dumping it and starting a fresh with a new brand? If we lose history, we lose history, but I'd take that over this frustrating stuff at the moment.

I think Tiss was always going to go after his Twitter antics, whether you agree with them or not, Sky are protecting a brand and he went 'off brand'. Thompson was an irritating scouse dimwit by the way, won't be missed. People like Alex Scott, she can be a little irritating at times, but she bloody well knows her shit. Very clued up and knowledgeable. Micah, I'm not sure what to make of him yet - one thing you can put on him is that he is incredibly enthusiastic, probably too much to be honest- he'd need to tone that down otherwise he'd get on my fucking tits. Both of those are decent shouts though, knowledgeable and confident. Clinton Morrison - no. He's annoying as hell, not exactly knowledgeable either. Comes across a bit simple, like Merson. But I think what will be missed most is the 'mates' element of it, you watched the show and they would play off each other really well - that sort of camaraderie will take time to develop with a new panel, so we'll see.
-
Doubt it, that deal probably sailed away weeks ago.
-
Not sure on the cries for Grealish myself. You've got Mount and Foden who are very similar players and both on a much higher level than him. Would be pointless to include 3 players of the same ilk.
-
So Reed and Lemina going will mean all go on a new midfielder, I imagine. There will be a nice chunk of wages saved and a loan fee for Lemina, and a nice £8-10m for Reed. Although we may need to use that money to help pay for the kit sponsor debacle....who knows how that will impact us.
-
Reports today that he's close to sealing his Fulham move. He wasn't given a squad number, so I don't expect him to stay.
-
Exactly that, there is also that massive outlay too. That won't be free. LD Sports are still showing our content all over their page - https://www.ldsports.uk/ A very strange and peculiar situation all round. I wonder if the club are trying to get that removed, but you'd think any viable company would have done it themselves. Such a shambles, really want to see how on earth this got through the door last year. I'd love to see who pushed it. It needs some sort of investigation tbh, but I'm a bit scared about what murky stuff it would show re: our ownership and if that would end up with us getting peanlised.
-
Potentially we'll have £8m from Reed shortly, then maybe a couple of mill on a loan fee for Lemina. Then we may have enough scraped enough together to put a bid together for a player in the 10-15m bracket! I think we're hamstrung on the wages, but I don't think we have much free cash to play with either IMO. If we're honest our model has always been sell and buy, even under Koeman - we got lucky with the amount we got that window. But one or two poor transfer windows and that entire model comes crashing down like a pack of cards, as we have no one to sell to raise the funds, and lots of poor players on big money. It's a bit different at other clubs who have owners willing to invest a little though, but we don't have that and haven't really had that since Markus.
-
I think he'll cost a bit too much. Going by the media reports Mangala is around 10-15m, Ntcham is more in the £20m ballpark. We like our 10-15m signings, so Mangala could fit that bill.
-
The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
S-Clarke replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
Absolute joke to play the racist card. -
I wonder if we'll see our interest in Mangala step up now? Certainly a more agile and technical midfielder than Weston. Either were/are a good option imo. But we're hamstrung until we shift who we need, I reckon any 3rd signing is prob going to happen in Oct.
-
Reckon the club has legal grounds to sue them? As Martin said, they have almost zero communication from them, even after trying to make contact frequently. He did not sound best pleased. But I'm not surprised really, I'm surprised they had any contact last year either, as they're a fake company.
-
I'd be very surprised if we let PEH and Reed go without replacing. I reckon we'll see movement on the CM front once Reed leaves (which looks inventible now)
-
Is it just me, or is it getting even worse than it was? I've been having some problems my side, everything else looks ok now, but this just seems even worse.
-
Messi CDAJFU. Good backup to Redmond on the left IMO.
