  1. I notice Les stopped short of saying that this time........
  2. Thought it was Boufal at 16m? The days of Rory Delap are long gone.
  3. I won't admit to knowing too much about him, but going by some of the articles i've read.....it's like they've put together our wish list in a midfielder and put it into him. Will be interesting to see if that is the case!
  4. He is a ******, always has been. Quite a nasty piece of work by all accounts.
  5. Nice, good news! When that tweet came in and it was ''@LeminaM_13 on a''....i read it quickly and thought for a second it was a 13 year contract...! I thought we'd gone fully mental for a second. 5 year is sound though.
  6. I'm not sure what mistakes he has made. What you suggest in terms of agents is out of the clubs control - and any club to be honest. Players are free to go with whoever they want, unless there is a law coming in that I don't know of, this won't change.
  7. Bit odd. I thought this was a huge scoop and a phone hack for a second. shame.
  8. Tapping up goes on though, generally speaking. I wouldn't be surprised if his agent or himself spoke to City or Chelsea, that wouldn't surprise me to be honest. What Liverpool did was a lot more orchestrated and in my eyes they went over the line of 'standard' tapping up. They manipulated our player, made promises and guarantees to a player who wasn't under contract with them, weakened our selling position and have now left us with a very unhappy captain. As I said earlier, if we have evidence, throw it to the PL - nothing to hold back on. Then sell him to City or Chelsea.
  9. I reckon McCarthy has got another serious season-ending injury. Then we have Taylor....... Gazzaniga seemingly off, Lewis on loan at Dundee. Hopefully whoever it is is good enough to push for a place himself and not just fill a position on the bench like Hassen did.
  10. Why would they need another career anyway? By the time they hang up, anyone who has played at a decent level is a millionaire. They can buy up some property, go into pudintry, coaching. It's a short career, yes, but it's very well paid and much more than I'll get in my entire 50 year career. To be honest, if VVD was told today that he'll never play again, he'll still end up a millionaire.
  11. I guess you're relating to the period at the end of the season where he went out to Duabi for fitness training? (With our physio staff i might add)
  12. Are these sizable bids, or loans etc? Obviously not looking for someone to dispose of Forster as number 1?
  13. McCarthy is done again then?
  14. There are conspiracy theories and then there is this.
  15. So, who are you signing to replace Coutinho?
  16. If the employer I was at had just rewarded me with 6 years of security, then I don't think I'd have been actively looking to triple my salary just 6 months later, I'd have been sensible enough to have got what I was after when I renewed my contract. To me, money isn't everything. I'd rather show a bit of loyalty to my current employees and leave on a nice note rather than burn tons of bridges along the way. You never know in life, you may need to come back one day. But hey, I'm not a money grabbing footballer. Woe be them.
  17. ''Southampton Football Club can confirm that Virgil Van Dyk has joined Manchester City for an undisclosed world record transfer fee. The club will use the funds to further strengthen our squad for the coming season''.
  18. Just been having a laugh on RAWK (they're still banned from talking about us). They're talking as if he's now 'done his bit' ''good lad'' etc. and now it's up to 'Liverpool' to finish the work. They also, quite hilariously said ''If Southampton only want to sell to Chelsea or City, Virgil should stand firm - he can make this happen''. Who in living gods name do they think they are????? They also quite poorly said that Keita now needs to do the same if he really wants to move. They really are a cesspit.
  19. It is a hard decision only if we need money. If we don't need the money, then to me it's not hard. It's out of principle. He signed a 5 year contract, we're not holding him to ransom - he agreed and signed that contract. If we don't want to sell him, we don't have to. If he wants to sulk and ruin his career, then fair enough. More fool him than us.
  20. I wonder how long it will be until VVD realises that this has made no difference? And then we'll get the ''Someone hacked my account, it wasn't me who posted that! LOL!'' fullback comments.
  21. The rumour is that was the case - and this is why this summer stance is so strong, as a club we're f***ed off with Liverpool as they're doing it every year - we've seemingly said enough is enough, but they've already caused the damage. I know clubs tap up players, it happens - but Liverpool take it to another level, they always have done. It's no coincidence that they've been slapped for this twice before.
  22. We should have taken away all of our facilities and let him recuperate in a local gym out of his own pocket then. I don't think we're alone in how we're thinking here, quick browse on Utd forums and they're all on our side in the sense of calling him a spoiled brat, ****** etc. I'll say again. Ambition. Liverpool. Ambition my arse. You could have had your pick Virgil, but I reckon this is a huge OG on his career. We all saw what happend with Sadio at WBA, started crying like a baby, WBA stood firm - fair play to them, and he wasted 2 years of his career. He then ended up moving to Stoke, still for a decent fee...but he still hasn't scored a goal for them, so on the back of his hissy fit...he ruined his career. He needs to hope that Chelsea or City are prepared to offer what we want for him, otherwise he's cut his nose off here. I'm so ****ed off with this saga now, why he doesn't just knuckle down is beyond me.
  23. That's an incredible statement really. He's obviously now desperate and after seeking all avenues to get out of here and not having any luck, has decided to go down this route, and is seemingly trying to drag the clubs name through the mud in an effort to make us budge. I don't understand the complete lack of respect he's shown us, in fact I'm pretty gobsmacked. He's worse than any of the previous 'defecting' lot we've had. We took a gamble on him when no one else wanted to, we put him on the stage and then rewarded him a year ago (yep, just a year ago...) with 6 years additional security and what was - i'm sure - a very, very healthy salary, associated signing on fee's and of course the club captaincy. If he was this ambitious and this keen to move to a top club, you have to question why on earth he signed a 6 year contract really. See, I'd take the ambitious part seriously if it was Barca, Real, Bayern, PSG we were talking about - but it's Liverpool. They're a yesterday team, you're not guaranteed top European football with them every year. This is the most blatant result of tapping up you'll ever see and it's why rules and sanctions are in place - they're there to protect the clubs and remove the prospect of unsettling. Well, they've not done anything in this instance. This has made me even more adamant that we should drag Liverpool through the mud here, send every bit of evidence we have to the PL and let them deal with this self pittying sess-pit of a city. And going by that statement, he's already a Liverpudlian with his victim stance. Shambles.
  24. Lazy for a change, little dig at Liverpool signing Bedranek in the future. Not old at all.
