Always fancied france to go far tbh. They're not the most explosive team, which is a surprise given the players they have, but they're very resolute and effective in the moments they need to be. Tactically astute team and very, very difficult to break through. Bobby just didn't have any real idea how to effect it.

I'd say Christensen is a pretty good PL Cb?

I think a manager who knows the league and understands what we need is key. The past two summers we've had 'new' people into the post that wanted time to learn the squad and possibly the league. Hughes has already had the time to 'learn' the squad, so he knows straight away what we need.

Until you see them in action it's impossible to say, but I can see a marked change in this years approach. The last couple of summers we've focused on players at 'big clubs' who have seemingly lost their way, not getting much game time etc. Sometimes you can unearth gems that way, but when most of your transfer strategy goes down that route it's a little worrying. However, this summer we've gone out and secured first team players who were leading players in their respective teams and leagues - and most importantly, they all have European experience - in the sense of Mo, he's played at the very highest level with Basel and to me is a bit of a coup.

Happy with this one, he's the CB who ticks most of the boxes we're missing. Strong, Powerful, good on the ball, a leading player from another club in another league (a very good league as well). Experience in European football. All massive ticks. The only slight concern I'd have is that he's not 'quick', and neither are our other CB's. Getting powerful, quick CB's isn't easy though...! We've done well with our Scandinavians in the past, so I'd expect him to be a hit here.

He was good today. Great running off and on the ball, just lacking the confidence atm. His pace is key to us stretching teams.

Really impressive display today, Sweden didn’t offer much but we were streets ahead of them in quality and it showed. there’s a good familiarity with the team and a good shape which suits our best players. Getting the best from Trippier in an attacking sense will prove to be a masterstroke. A semi final is amazing and this is certainly a World Cup I will be telling my grand kids about. We’re in it until the end now, no matter what.

Reed actually played that RWB role for a decent % of his time at Norwich, that's where their fans rated him more. I wouldn't be against keepimg him around the place as backup to Cedric and rather than pursuing a new right back, put that money into another winger/quick forward type player.

PSG took him on loan for 12 months, with ' a view ' to complete a £166m transfer this summer. That was their way of getting around FFP last year, but it still seems it will be an issue for them to sign him this season. Could play into Monaco's hands really as they could potentially end up getting more, which in it's self is crazy as a few years ago a £100m transfer fee was fairy tale!

Yeah, Mbappe is surely going to happen. PSG can't afford to make his transfer perm. (apparently) due to FFP, so as it stands I think he's back with Monaco?
