They're already relegated, let's be honest. So they're playing with 'freedom'. The fact is that none of those players want to play for them, that won't change. If we don't beat them, I will agree with everything Alpine says for a week.

Joke team, they should just forfeit the rest of the season. Serving no purpose.
-
I don't think we'll see them at this level again for a long time. No matter who they bring in the supporting roles, they're still run by someone who doesn't want to commit/invest because he wants to sell. Until they're sold, they're languishing.

Garde has been royally stitched up to be honest. **** squad and even though he wanted to, they wouldn't let him add in January. It's nothing to do with the manager, it's all to do with the lack of management board level. Shambles Long, long, long way back for them.

Normal service seemingly resumed.

Could be 3/4 to France tbh, Holland are a disorganized mess.

MLG is having a mare recently.

I've only ever seen one person discredit his work to be honest, and he's on here. When we had Burley, we had a future Real Madrid superstar playing on the left. A future PL player in Baird, a future PL striker in Jones, Guthrie who turned out a decent enough player (who both did forge a decent career at that level for a bit). Polish internationals in Saganowski, Rasiak. Yet we only scraped the playoffs, miles away from automatic promotion. You can say Adkins had french/england internationals in that side, but he helped make them internationals. The momentum he helped create put us where we are now, I'm not sure why this specific poster cannot accept that.

Bertrand missed England training today due to an injury.

I think this is the summer we upgrade on Steven Davis. He's been amazing for us and I'm still a big fan, but I think we can get better and evolve his role. Having him as then part of the squad to utilise puts us in a very strong position.

It helps when the players around him are on the same page as well. Once you get the ball up to Pelle, you have to get people in and around him to win the flicks/knock-on's, run off the ball etc. That's what Mane gave us when he came on. It helps Pelle when he's playing with pace around him, otherwise it is all very static and slow.

I'd personally sign a utility defender. Someone who can cover CB and RB as required, someone in the Ivanovic style. I personally rate Cedric and feel with a pre-season under his belt he'll be a much more reliable player. (he's not exactly let us down when played). Then I'd sign a new number 10 type. And that would be it. However, if we lose players we will need to replace them. But as it stands now, we're pretty competitive all over the park.

Not sure why anyone would want us to lose tbh. Let's turn Leicester over and be seen as the party poopers for a weekend. Our run-in is interesting really, we've got the advantage of not really being under the pressure the likes of Spurs and Leicester are in. As the season counts down, they will drop points at places you never expect them to. The points tally to win the league this year will not reach 80 pts IMO. Neither have been in this position before, so no one really knows how they will react. I do hope Leicester win it overall though, as I think it could potentially change the footballing landscape given how level pegging teams will be financially with the new TV deal.

If we go after any player who has been relegated, I'd be all over Wijlandum. He won't be cheap, a transfer-record breaker, but he'd be excellent and a terrific way of evolving Steven Davis' role in the side.

If any first choice player leaves Everton it will be for a Spurs/City/Chelsea/Man Utd type. We may have a chance with some everton squad players, but we're not big enough to snare their first team players.
-
Obviously will be a tough game, but Leicester will possibly only be down 2 points clear when we play them. If they're going to crack under the pressure, this could be the game. I think if they do turn us over, they'll win the league. But this game will certainly be a real test of their credentials.

1month + according to Pellegrini

Not sure what video you watched tbh. Whatever floats your boat. But yeah, good to see Jay back looking sharp...and same for Gazza.

Would imagine Butland would be in there before him.

Well, I didn't see that coming 30mins in, I don't think anyone did. Incredible game and that's why we go back week after week..... for moments like that. We did start the game very sloppy, It seemed as if we decided to play a crazy high line and although we were attacking....as soon as they won the ball back, they broke on us with pace and accuracy, but we were so deep up field that we could never recover. Unfortunately they hit us for 2 before we could recognize that and change it, but we went a bit deeper, shut the midfield up and it was more of a calm first half. I thought Clasie was a passenger, he was utterly atrocious in the first half. I'm dying to see some consistency from the kid, but there are games where he honestly looks like a ball boy has been left out there. It just passed him by, he couldn't handle the intensity at all. The half time changes were needed, if I'm honest I didn't think we'd make them straight away - but we took the gamble and took off the incredibly ineffective Tadic and the ballboy. The 2nd half was a different match due to t his. Big Vic made a huge difference, he bossed Allen in midfield and gave Emre Can a lot more of a game. He was strong, powerful, accurate in his passing and positional sense was sound. Romeu was a lot better as he wasn't having to carry his midfield partner, and it allowed him to influence the game a little more through the middle - which he did. I love Mane through the middle, but when he plays from the right and cuts in...he's very effective. The first goal was a peach, but his 2nd was just as good - such good strength to hold of Sakho and accurate in the finish. There have been complaints we haven't been clinical enough, but we put them complaints to bed right there. I thought Pelle had a much better 2nd half, the whole team just seemed to nit together a hell of a lot better with Vic holding the midfield. Pelle's goal was a peach, loved the way he bought himself a yard and just bent it. Cracking finish. This is a game which will live long in our memories, one of the great games at St Mary's for sure. We've often been accused of falling away at the tail ends of seasons, but maybe this time we can actually finish strong and who knows what the hell could happen.
