All we wanted was a smiley.

Nope. Just that the pretty solid svenclaes now claims it's done, and will be announced tomorrow. So we shall see. Whatever happens, I'd love to see what comes out in the wash regarding this. It's not how it seems in the media, lots of games have been played.
-
Oh i remember that one - that was a bit of a saga..
-
Tomorrow will tell all. Sven is actually the more reliable of sources, but his tune has changed rather quickly as well. So we'll see. If we hear nothing tomorrow, then it's clearly not as it seems. But as has been said, it's the hope that kills you.

To be fair, he's not a bad shout. I mentioned him in another thread earlier. Decent quality player.
-
Of course that's how it played out.
-
More re-hash. He was set to sign today, last night, and he was set to sign over the weekend on Friday.
-
He is a bit of a **** tbh, a bit full of himself. But yes, agreed, nice to see them getting a bit of the treatment. Karma is strong. But you do have to wonder about all this in the media, half of it is trash or OTT trash - imo.

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)

Not sure why he'd be frustrated with us, Utd are the ones who haven't come back. -

Utd/van gaal playing silly buggers then. Not our fault, he just needs to keep his head down (and attached..) -
I think he learnt a lot from last summer, and having someone like Koeman around gets the respect. Koeman has already said he's had a sit down chat with Morgan since we've been back, and the message is clear. He wants to leave if a Champions League club come in for him. We've said...''ok, that's fine. We will let you leave if we get what we feel is a fair fee''. That's where we are.
-
To be fair, a summer on here wouldn't be complete without a transfer saga. Last year we had all the departures and Marcos Rojo, the year before it was the long-winded Osvaldo-fest, the year before that it was the never-ending Gaston-saga, the year before that we had Amar Jemal. And possibly Jack Cork iirc, as he was going to Forest for a day...and then signed with us the next day.
-
I think his 'head' is in a more stable place. I think he recongises that we're not going to block a move, but it has to be on our terms. He's come out in the media and has said as much.....''The club will let me go if a CL come along and bid for me'' If they don't...or don't offer what we want, close to what we want...then he'll get his head down. For what it's worth, It will get sorted out I reckon.

Yeah, but that Toby's friends stuff is re-hashed from back in May. That was superseded the next day by a story in de telegraaf saying that he'd told Madrid he wanted to join us.
-
You're assuming that they were easy to deal with, is there even a deal agreed? No one knows. What I remember reading, again...direct quotes..., came from his father at the end of the season. ''Atletcio want him back, and they will decide from there'' - so it wasn't ever as easy for us to just do a deal in January, or before the season ended. Atlecio seemingly wanted to talk to the player, and...maybe use him as bait in some other deals, seeing as they had no money.
-
I guess it wasn't as disastrous as Forren...... But I guess on the outset at the time it was a good deal, but he's never shown any sort of ability...so I'm not sure what exactly happened to the Mayuka of a few years back. I think Mane is what we hoped Mayuka would be.
-
Of course we've been talking with Madrid, probably for a good few months. But I think they've made the whole situation a lot more complicated than it should have been. There is a volume coming out, but as alluded to above...they're all quoting each other, or re-hashing stuff from a few weeks back to bulk up a story. I'm not denying there is Spurs interest, but if it was as close as these media outlets were claiming, then we'd have had something a little bit more substantial by now. (it was supposed to be completed over the weekend, and then he was supposed to have a medical tomorrow...and then it was today......etc etc)

I think any of us would love to keep hold of Morgan over anything, but we know it won't happen. Clasie seems an affordable option.
-
I was waiting for someone to throw that in there. Morgan, Cork, Fonte, Clyne, Rodriguez, Lambert, Lallana, Bertrand, Mane - are some names off the top of my head I can think of. None of those players were expected to reach the heights they did, but we provided an environment for them to.
-
Oh yeah, true. He had an opp at the back end of the season IIRC. Can't see him hanging around though, £4m down the drain on that one.
-
But the same media sources are also saying deal agreed, when his father has come out and said it isn't. And also svenclaes on twitter is worth listening to.
