Best Value For Money Signings 1. Mark 'Psycho' Dennis...

It turned in to a real non event as Everton took glee from beating us 4-0 as I recall. We need to focus on the matter in hand, 3 points. And then focus on Brighton. A tough week, and not one to get distracted by side shows etc etc.

Good to see NA saluting Barney as he leaves the pitch too.

Himself, and his conscience.

Brian Mawhinney was there too.

Brilliant, but we shouldn't laugh too much. There will be nothing to do come August, September and October. Perhaps we could all declare oursleves broke then travel to the US for a 2 week tour!

Strange, I thought it was a Ford Granada. I remember it being on the pitch for the QPR game on the Monday. Defo re the driving tho.

There is no given right to winning this or any league. It will only come through good planning, preparation, and execution. Every team in the league will be raising there game to play us. So we could have 46 cup finals on our hands. Assumptions about walking it are wide of the mark.

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
Eaststander replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
he'd go missing with an injury by the end of august and we'd have to keep paying him. The stated aim is to buy players that ad value to the squad, and that would take us through 2 divs in one go. This one fits neither category. There will be lots of agents with players to place who will mention our name to the likes of Sky. It doesn't mean that the admiration is reciprocated. -
why would the OS censor it's own story!!! this journo hasn't left his desk to write this, and probably couldn't name our starting 11 from Tuesday night, or even who we played.

Lazy journalism, plagiarising at best, but just copy and paste really. This guy might as well write the sports column for the Beano, it is just a joke. Taking longer interviews, cutting them down because they don't really have the column inches to cover the story properly means the full context is lost. We all know the situation, the investment, the commitment form all parties, and how success is being measured. I get the impression that NC and AP are damned if they do and damned if the don't. Whatever they say will just be spun into a story either to praise a fresh approach to football business management, and the running a sound company. Or from a traditionalist perspective to have a go a NC because he is the new boy on the block, and they don't really understand his business savvy professional approach.

Matchday Entertainment - Your Views??
Eaststander replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
How about the Alboion Band, followed by a bit of Dennis Rofe? Oh and how about a parachute jump, arriving with the match ball. That was always really exciting, especially when they landed half way up the avenue on the Common:-) With the stands so tight at the Dell no one could see them before they came over the top of the West Stand, if you were lucky. -
FWIW, my 2p worth.... We went in to a panic in 2ndH having not forced a goal in the 1st H. As supporters we expect our players to be cleverer than they appeared tonight. We do, as supporters, set high standards, and quite rightly so. The players need to think for themselves on the pitch too. They have to work it out quicker if plan A isn't working. Having said that I thought RL was carrying a dead leg or similar tonight. There was a point in the second half where I thought he was going off, not LB. Right back was an issue too tonight the "headless chicken ballboy" Thomas, or the lacking match practice James. Meaning that Adam got no quality overlapping support. Thought the CB pairing was too good, and they too got complacent, cause they know it. For me the centre midfield didn't win the 2nd ball in the 2nd half, and Punch too predictable. Lots to work on, which is good for AP and band of merry men , it means they still have jobs to do. Rome was not built in a day, and all that. I still left with smile on my face as it could have been a lot lot worse, both this season and tonight. I took my two proud Saints supporting boys, no better feeling as a dad. Apart from getting a win of course.

Guess the date & leagues as we finally overtake them?
Eaststander replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Saints
+1 No ground, no training ground, no academy, just a bunch of players that the overstated balance sheet says are worth £23m. Hardly a mouth watering investment proposition is it? -

Why not have a win double on John Terry and Wayne Bridge exchanging Christmas cards.... ...unlikely but not impossible. -
Has Wright broken his leg yet?

AP is too smart a manager, and has waited too long to play what he considers his best 11. He didn't make a (significant/tactical) substiutions on Saturday, and that says a lot. He won't break a golden rule of football management and change a winning team. He was giving those 11 players as much experience of playing together as possible, they are going to need to function as the first team. When the term rested is used, it may not be necessary to rest for a match, it may mean that the pressure is taken off RL as being the only option. LB will get more chances with RL on the pitch than he will without him.

Yeah most of the cup tie postponements were home games. Meaning that we won't have mid week travel issues with our games in hand. Another bonus, or non negative depending if you are a glass half full or half empty type. with the top half winning today (bar Leeds and Norwich) the benefit of this win won't be felt until after the mid week game or even next Saturday. There is a long way to go and it will be a matter of "one game at a time".

a) this is clearly "liberal truth" journalism, with no named source. b) have you ever met a successful businessman/millionaire who made money by giving it away? This a business not a charity. ML is investing looking for a (long term) return, hence the 5/3 year plan. He wants a payback on his investment. There is no sentiment when it comes to business, and there is no sentiment for the p!55 poor business management that has occurred down the road. I doubt we we would need/want to get invloved in winding up proceedings, we have merely to protect our assets by registering as a creditor if needs be, and get on with running our club. They are clearly capable of c*cking things up for themselves. FWIW I don't think there will be a final decision this week due to the uncertainty of the ownership. More stalling tactics from desperate men, with now where to go.
