Had forgotten how defensively solid we were back then…..

You ever seen someone in a shop (generally local) in their DRESSING GOWN? I have and it stunned me.

Amazing start. Just got a stream up and LITERALLY the first thing I see is Zaha celebrating.

If ever there was a thread that needed splitting and hoying over to The Lounge........

The whole full back fiasco is the main reason I've now completely lost faith in Ralph and to a large extent the whole fcking club. In what world does it make sense to spend big money on a left back, then buy a new right back when we already have a good right back (one of the achingly few positions we could say we had a good player in), and then play the original right back out of position, leaving the new expensive left back out the team? It makes ZERO sense. I could understand it if there was a plan to accommodate all 3, but there clearly was and is no such plan. I could even have got on board with selling KWP and replacing with TL, and spending the KWP money on one of the various other areas we are desperately short of quality in - another decent midfielder, a number 10 that isn't allergic to goals - but again, no. Even after all that at least - with the knowledge of this hamfisted clusterfuck of an arrangement clearly not working - if he tried the seemingly obvious KWP in his natural position, Perraud in his, and TL (who clearly looks better going forward than defending) in front of KWP you could cut him some slack even if it didn't work. But again, no. Just a baffling shit show.

Not even remotely interested in the sport but thought I'd give it a go due to all the publicity about how exciting it was going to be. Fell asleep.

I’m off the fence now. I like him, really want it to work but it just isn’t going to. Needs to go.
-
Yep, completely stood off him allowing acres of space for the attacker to set himself and pick his man out. JWP was puffing away trying to get back but any decent commanding CB would've seen he wasn't getting there and gone to deal with it himself. We had Jan Bednarek in lieu of a decent commanding CB.

We used to scrape 9 or 10 wins plus the same amount of drawers and JUST survive. I can't see us getting that many this season. We might JUST survive though.
-
He might not be the entire problem but he's run his course. I simply cannot see things improving under him. 6 wins in 40 odd games all against dross sides. He's done. At least we might scrape together enough points to survive with new manager bounce.

We’re all over the place now. This is just utter shit.
-
It was. Anyway it really doesn’t matter.

That was a penalty

We need goals goals goals in the second half. Only one man on the bench who can give us that. C'mon Shane.
-
Norwich would probably be sniffing around most of them but after that I'm struggling.

Weird how we had a rash of aways then a rash of homes then another much longer rash of aways broken only very briefly by the pimple that was Watford at home 2 seasons back. I'd like to know the record run of consecutive away and home draws on third round day in the entire history of the FA cup if anyone has this information please.

Yeah and he also referenced "The tea" alluding to it maybe having an influence on our second half performances.

Officially the correct decision then. If that definition is correct then if a keeper's hand and an attacker's foot meet the ball at the exact same time then any goal that results should not be given as the keeper had his hand on the ball for the same split second that the attacker's boot was on it. I suppose if a keeper was stood there with the ball held in one upturned palm ready to launch it and an attacker booted it out of his hand nobody would complain if any resulting goal was chalked off. This one felt wrong though, was never in his control. Like many/most things in football the issue is grey.
-
What is the official law regarding a goalkeeper having control of a ball? Genuine question. Whitey?
-
Play keep ball and not fuck it up. What he tried to do was the right thing and it wasn't difficult. He ballsed it up. Noted though as I think you said above, tiredness may be a factor - him and Romeu are/were relied upon too heavily and asked to do too much. That's on Ralph.
-
It’s hard to take that, really is. Probably best not to comment beyond that, so I won’t.

This ref is a proper cunt. Ffs

Abraham isn’t but yeah hopefully he’ll want to stay another year

Should start every game. No ifs or buts. Streets ahead of Armstrong.
