His continued refusal to try this is the main reason I am 3 games away from calling for his head.
-
Looks vaguely competent this season after looking hopelessly out of his depth 3 seasons ago. Could do with a bit more than that though tbh.
-
I recall thinking Adams wouldn't make it as a prem striker after his first 6 or so games for us. He sort of has made it and I expect Armstrong will as well to the same sort of degree. Don't exactly get the pulses racing though do they?
-
Hmmmm 6 of one half dozen of other. TOO WEAK.
-
Which has to be a major worry. The bloke has 2 assists to his name in his entire time with us.
-
It's the blindingly obvious one to at least try. Still not one that our Manager fancies though.........................
-
Well not really. Didn't happen last week for example.

I’ve seen some frustrating games down the years but that was right up there. This was a really important one, the first game of the season you’d put in the should win category. Epic fail as the kids say, all the good work picking up unexpected points undone by not picking up expected ones. Creativity isn’t there, Ely better than previously but still not actually good, Djenepo headless chicken that tries hard, Redmond……….It’s all too slow and lacking zip and ingenuity.

Well....we did, and it was.

Whilst I'm more than happy if it costs Utd, HTF was that not a penalty for the foul on Ronaldo? In other news, never bring someone on specifically to take a penalty.

I hear you Hypo my worst nightmare is Saints Ladies having an identical fixture as the men on the same day at the same time when I am in - albeit unlikely - circumstances which prevent me from checking the score until the game is over, then seeing we've won 3-0 or similar and celebrating wildly as a consequence only to later discover it was the chicks what won 3-0 and we actually lost.
-
Personally I think they just need to have a separate Chicks football channel.

Unfortunately you get players like that and in this case it's unfortunate for us. Billy Sharp, Jordan Rhodes, prolific marksmen in the championship but ineffecitve/not trusted in the Prem (did Rhodes ever actually play at that level, I think possibly not?) there are probably countless other examples and not just attackers, Cat. Like you say, a weird one. Some players - eg Lambert - seem to just adjust and prove effective at whatever level they play at whereas others who look outstanding at a lower level - eg Lee Trundle - don't even get the chance to prove they can't cut it higher up, which can only be because the coaches/talent spotters concluded for whatever reason he simply would not have made it. For the sake of himself (and me, and probably lots of us tbh) I'd like to see Nathan drop a division and rip it up for another club in the Championship.

You ain't the only one. Didn't realise Livramento played in midfield for England U21's in midweek as confirmed further up this thread. Makes it even more bizarre it hasn't been tried. I'm going to keep on banging on about this until it finally happens.

Thing is he went through a period of being good and hitting it early. That goal against Burnley for example. WTF he hasn't pushed on who knows but he hasn't and like you say never will. He's a top championship level player stealing a living in the Prem.

This contains some valid points but - Jesus - a tad negative no? I thought there was plenty on show to be positive about. We obviously aren't going to tear up the league but I think we'll be fine.
-
Well that was interesting. Thought we were absolutely shite going forward and was thinking where the hell are the goals going to come from this season. Then Borja came on, enough said. Salisu, McCarthy, Tino, Stephens, Perraud all did well. Djenepo getting pelters on here but I thought he put a real shift in, just needs to sort the final ball thing out. Moi at least no no longer looks like a badminton player that's had a nightmare and woken up on a football pitch, but he was pretty anonymous. Redmond.....................well he was Redmond. Overall though I think we'll be absolutely fine this season, we've had a really difficult start, we're battling away and competing without ever looking great but we'll get better and start picking up some wins against the bottom half teams imho.
-
I have to say I find it bizarre we have strengthened one of our strongest positions. Surely the plan must be to accommodate them both but if so, wtf are we waiting for?

Old threads what get resurrected.

How many more dead threads is Dr Who going to resurrect ?

Jesus, wgaf if you or anyone else resurrects old threads. Fill your boots mate. -
Truth is his good performances are becoming less medium rare. Well done Mo keep it up.

Sack the board. Anyway, not sure if mentioned but I think a key factor could/should be working a formation with KWP, Livramento and Perraud in it. We've already seen the team line up without either KWP or Perraud in all 3 games which means starting without arguably our best player from last season or our second most expensive purchase this summer. Neither seem sensible although playing Liv from the start most certainly does based on the evidence so far. I want to see KWP at rb and Livramento in front of him, that combination could be f'in dynamite.
