4-2-3-1 and we fucking smash them. Shame our Boxing Day match is at a non-league ground that only holds 2000. Fucking tin-pot club shouldn’t be on the same pitch as us. 4-1 win, a couple from Scienza before he’s subbed on the hour.

Is GK the worst position in this clubs history?

I agree that the keeper position has been criminally mismanaged. David Watson played for Barnsley and England U21s by the way. Career was curtailed by a bad injury. -
Disagree completely. I would rather attackers were attacking, not defenders. When they had the ball, we had our 3 centre backs in a line with just Sims up front for them. I also think Downes has been very good since coming back in the team. The mistake was not taking a centre-back off. We couldn’t work it out, and, respectfully, don’t see your point of view on this.

I wouldn’t put the reserve keeper on. I would make another player sit it out in n the keeper’s place. Would put a time limit on a side scoring a goal and being ready for the kick-off. Anyone not in their own half gets an automatic yellow. Refs also need to enforce subs leaving by the nearest point. Start enforcing obstruction again and yellow card anyone that manhandles opponents at set plays.

I haven’t got a problem with what he said in that interview. I would imagine he regrets what happened on the pitch though. Mind you, if people were targeting his family with their abuse that is bang out of order.
-
Definite lack of movement. They were like statues at times.
-
I’m aware 😂. It grips my shit.

As far as Archer goes, sadly I agree. I always thought there was a decent player there but I’ve changed my mind. The club need to recognise that Downs has been a big mistake and move him out. Stewart can’t have his contract renewed, shame as he’s shown he’s pretty good, but he’s too injury prone.

I would just leave the keeper on the ground and play on. He’d soon get up. I remember when the last thing players would do after a tackle was let their opponent know he was hurt. Footballers these days are a load of diving, cheating pricks. Ours included. No wonder refereeing is so difficult these days. I was watching a game on telly the other day and switched it off after 10 minutes because of all the play-acting bullshit. Can’t stand it, bores the shit out of me. Football needs to change.

The idea, that statistically the worst keeper in any league he’s played in has no confidence in his defence, is laughable.
-
He was terrible. Jogging at walking pace back when his man was in acres with the ball for their goal. If I was one of the players I would seriously have wanted to punch him after the game for that alone.
-
No, sorry I don’t.
-
I did support the team. I’m allowed to have an opinion, and nobody is saying sack the manager. Ridiculous post, and I should know - I’ve had a fair few myself.

Lost a bit of faith in Eckert today. Leaving 3 centre/backs on against 10 men was ridiculous, as was taking Jander off and then just dropping Azaz back in his position. Lots of pointless square and backwards passing as well. Looks like another manager wedded to a single system.

So you think Baz letting in shots that a competent keeper would save isn't a problem? Righto.
-
The fast football is great when we play it. The slow tippy tappy RussBall seems to be rearing its ugly head again though.
-
I agree. We get outnumbered in the middle of the park at the same time as we have 2 centre-backs free. It’s madness.
-
He’s not fine as a number 2 though. If you’re worried about playing him, he’s not fine.
-
That would seriously finish me with Saints.
-
Eckert needs to show that he’s not a philosophy manager wedded to one system. Play 5 at the back and let them piss about with the ball and we’ll be well beaten. Would also like to see McCarthy in goal for the fact that he’ll come for crosses and can save shots.
-
If the season pans out like that then you’re probably right. I would like to think he is an intelligent guy who’ll work out how to get the best from his squad. It wasn’t that long ago that a lot of people were questioning Tuchel, an intelligent manager who has now worked it out. I’m not saying Eckert can be compared to his countryman, but there is a chance that he can work it out and show he isn’t another philosophy manager wedded to one system.
-
Nobody will buy him. We’ll be lucky to find anyone to loan him.
-
When does his contract end?
-
Yep. He would seriously struggle to get a start in the National League.
