Excellent, a nice little jaunt down the A12 for me.

When you leave base though TDD and you say "Right, I'm off home" where do you end up? Southampton or Plymouth?
-
I detest that phrase "...going home". Jesus, if they live here then Britain is their home.
-
Nope, just probably with the worst health, education and poverty figures in Western Europe.
-
Christ alive, the phrase "head in the sands with fingers in ears" comes to mine.

Bee-Bees?

Freddy Adu will certainly be the new 'Rudi Skacel'...

Pretty much, the Queen is obliged to read them and she is obliged to accept the forming of a new government from whatever party has the majority - it's in the (invisible) constitution. Also dune, Badger is right about their blood line. You do know they changed their name during WW1 to Windsor because the house was called Saxe-Coburg!?!?!

The charge of 'Jeering' opposition fans I found laughable. Most of block 42 will be up in court next season... -
I assume that you means you failed? Bloody immigrant

He was 'The Dogs' back when he was 14, but I was reading an article on him in 442 recently and he really hasn't lived up to the hype...regardless, still WAY to good for League1.

But every child won't benefit from academies!! It is only the outstanding schools that can automatically become academies, the rest of us have to apply. Therefore, while the best schools will get even MORE funding, the average/worst schools (who could easily be rejected from becoming academies) will be left to rot and die. The original idea was that the WORST schools become academies so that they get the extra funding, and therefore a fairer system.

Being only a young'un, my school was already 'Grant Maintained' when I started so I can't really answer that question I'm afraid

Leaving your lunch at home!

Crack open the Champagne SNSUN!! That is correct!!

Quality, what a guess! haha O.K, quite an easy one: Which winger was brought down in the box by Sol Campbell to get Saints back into game at White Hart Lane during the 1994/1995 season? (The final score was Spuds 1-2 Saints).

1975/1976?

Hahaha!! Today's PSHE lesson is sponsored by Durex...

Wasn't that the job of the Winter Fuel Allowance? By the way Tory fans, I'm struggling to see the point of all this talk of giving 'outstanding' schools academy status? If they're 'outstanding', how can they possibly get better? The whole idea behind the academy schools was that they were there to drag the worst schools out of their special meaures. Regardless, I think we can all see where this is going: Privitisation of the education system through the back door, you can better your last quid that there are multiple multi-national companies who want a slice of the 'education pie'.

If you're going to ignore the facts and figures that I've produced for you then what is the point in debating?

The figure of 98.6% is pupils who achieved A*-G, the 'real' figure (the one that matters when it comes to colleges etc) of those who passed their GCSEs with A*-C is the one that really counts: I don't have the national data handy but at my school it is 60% (which is considered the 'magic' number). Regardless of what people say these exams are not getting easier - If they were then I would expect to see the A*-C rate up around the 90% mark, when this happens, you may have a point. Also Wes, you need 5 GCSEs at A*-C to get into college and three A-Levels (grades dependant on the institution) to get into Uni. The system really isn't that different to how it was back in your day. :-)

Do people still bother with England friendlies? They're always, ALWAYS **** and as boring as watching paint dry.

Shouldn't you be cleaning oil from your shrimp boat?

Seeing English and Maths as the backbone of our future economy is very short sighted. What about ICT? Science? Languages? By the way, 'Brain-washing' activities? Yeah, encouraging children to grow up tolerant and rational of other peoples is a terrible thing to do, we're scum! How would you bring higher education 'into line' JB? Charge those students who want to study what you may consider 'un-worthy' topics more? Offer financial incentives to those who want to study the more traditional subjects?
