Departure being one thing, signing for us is another.
-
He's sulking, and trying to force his move to Saints.
-
Yes. But probably won't be St Mary's.

Lavia is currently a sixty minute player. I'm not sure I'd want to rely on him for the rest of the season in the scrap ahead. JWP for all his talents isn't physical enough as a DM. Both JWP and Alcaraz look like more attacking players. Diallo ? Well he's just had his good game for the season. Again not really physical enough for DM. If Hjulmand can operate there effectively then he's ideal..

Defensive midfielder from what I've read. Beto rumoured at €30m seems unlikely. Not sure that Sulemana is what we need currently, another young player with pace. Great in getting upfield at breakneck speed but then what ? Another attack fizzles out whilst he waits for reinforcements to arrive in the box, or for Che to sidefoot it to their GK.

Not on Planet Semmens, or according to the club's Rasmusgraph we don't.
-
Need a GK, so simply go and get one, an experienced one, not a L1 rookie from Accrington, or Skatesmouth. It can be done. It's quite simple. But beyond those running our club.

No a fan of Dyche but had he been announced by us in November I'd at least have been supportive of the logic behind it.

Good post, but think you are showing your age with reference to Dubbin. In truth I suspect that was part of a bygone age when you started going to The Dell though, was for me in the late 60's. If you really want a nostalgia trip though you could get your wooden rattle out of the roof. (Probably be considered an offensive weapon now).

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
Badger replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Would a new signing be available to play having not been signed in time for the first leg ? Seem to recall somewhere in the past that a player wasn't (but that might have been an FA Cup replay, or European tie when they used to be over two legs) . This assumes they're not cup-tied of course. -
Jimmy Jay Morgan not to sign a pro contract at club!
Badger replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
Might be a decent lad, and he may have a great career ahead of him. But he's unlikely to be invited to tea with Katie Hopkins' kids with his name. -
Think you've got to give DCC credit for not reacting. Wonder if Lyanco would have shown such self restraint.

Calling Mr Ruddock, .......

I had been hoping for a £30m centre forward, but we sign a RB (a 'Bree transfer' at that). Good luck to him, hope it works out for all our sakes.
-
I'd always assumed that medicals were fairly rigorous and standard through football, but you have to wonder if Jackson would have failed our medical given how many times we seem to sign crocks, and players needing time to get up to speed.

The "next" priority ??

Read on BBC this morning that Pope cost £10m. Obviously there is a wage issue, but waht cost staying up ?

Yet we compound the problem with a ridiculous goal kick routine with CC and Lyanco standing on sentry duty at the corners of the six yard box.

NJ takes the flak for this, but I suspect this is just trumpeting what has been handed down from above. Not signing anyone of note it appears - especially the striker - so start the "small tight squad ... happy with it (see last week's ref to Che and Mara)... Seem to recall Ralph saying similar. In fairness NJ does say about improving the squad and the whole extract seems about offloading

Semmens says: Christ on a bike ! Surprised BBC don't feature this on their Jackanory page.
-
No it wouldn't.

At that sort of price seems a large gamble for a player who as you say doesn't seem a goalscorer. From the youtube videos he looks somewhere between a Trainee Zaha (and we need him to come good immediately not in 18months) and a Chicken George MkII (for those old enough to remember him), or Djenepo as Fareham suggests. Have to wonder how motivated in the Championship he'll be, or what we might end up having to release him for if we go down.

Good post and in line with my view on it. I've said before about Brighton , that they've quietly gone about their recruitment whilst our hierarchy (Reed, Wilson, Semmens) have largely just talked about it. But it should not be forgotten that Saints invented clever scouting, and the publicised 'Black Box' as widely spoken about in 2014. Trouble is that those involved - at the time and since - believed their own hype too much. All of which predates Rasmus, who may be similar from what we've seen to date.
