  1. Steve Neville looked to have pace and a bit of skill when coming on in an old Division 2 match (74 or 75) as a sub. Not sure he ever featured much for us after though he did make a career in lower leagues (Exeter from recollection). Osher Williams- looked a prospect as well but disappeared after a couple of run outs. Keith Cassells -good debut v Liverpool , but crap after.
  2. We probably will.
  3. On the subject of Tedescvo's departure from RBL I found this article: Source: https://onefootball.com/de/news/enthuellt-die-differenzen-zwischen-tedesco-und-mintzlaff-35836704?language=de So, a manager not involved in player recruitment as closely as he'd like to be, and undrrmined by a DoF. He'll feel at home here regarding player recruitment then.
  4. I was aware of him, so to some extent the post was tongue in cheek, although I did add … to improve them in their game as there has been little evidence of that over recent seasons. Just about every GK has got weaker over time with us, which you’d be inclined to attribute to coaching and confidence. Just hope we don’t see Bazunu go the way of the earlier ‘prospect’ Gunn. I think GB is a better prospect but playing behind our defence and midfield will shred his confidence over the course of this season if we’re not careful to protect him.
  5. Can’t see it. Magic mushrooms for breakfast, Roger ?
  6. Obvious to all. But not on Planet Semmens.
  7. Par for the course for us then. Wonder if we’ve ever considered employing a GK coach to improve them in their game. Novel idea, but it might just work.
  8. Wouldn't be the first time in Manchester we've been asked to play 89 minutes with 10 men. Who's the ref tomorrow by the way ? If it's Mike Dean ....
  9. Have said several times that a large part of Brentford's success has been down to recruitment (of players and manager). Ankersen, like Frank, is only part of that.
  10. The only reason to leak a story here would be to try guaging the response to see if acceptable to the fanbase. If so I'm not sure it reflects well on the 'decision maker' not having confidence in their own conviction.
  11. Or Cooper read the UI and decided 'stuff that ...': And:
  12. Probably not before the World Cup. Are you thinking as Ralph’s replacement or as Assistant?
  13. Italian Stuart Gray
  14. True, but a bit of an exception the rule
  15. Clearly a well researched article. Lead photo is of Tedesco’s replacement at Leipzig, Marco Rose. (Since changed). As for the Enzo bloke, no idea, but can see the Joe Shields link. Apart from that though, probably worth avoiding promoting an Assistant from elsewhere into the job (Brian Kidd Mk II).
  16. Part of Toby’s master plan that in the interests of customer enjoyment home fans will be barred from the stadium on match days and all tickets will be sold to away supporters only.
  17. Can’t see it in a month of Sundays. He sees himself at the top table now not scurrying around for the crumbs. Only way we might entice him is if he’s really bored at home and fancies a bit of a laugh until the end of the season, by which time Conti may have blown a fuse too many and fallen out with everyone at spurs. but not worth thinking about it.
  18. So let’s get this right: Forest sign lots of players (too many), probably not the managers choice, poor results… but it’s not the managers fault… To many, Saints buy several players (but not a striker).. possibly not the managers choice , poor results (over a longer period granted) and it is all Ralph’s fault. Is this Mongboard logic and critical thinking at its best ? (Okay, accept other factors to consider, but these are two strands of argument flagged up as central to the case of both Cooper and Ralph)
  19. Might be a waste if his time coming to us then, unless you are referring to the upper management as tools in which case this takes on a different perspective.
  20. Sad indictment of our management, their ambition, and status as a club if we’re waiting on a manager to get the sack at Forest. That might be the Crocker/Semmens choice but I’m expecting SR to be more involved in the selection. Despite my comment above, getting the boot somewhere else doesn’t mean it won’t work here, ie WGS, and Poch as prime examples
  21. Totally agree, yet some have been quick to say Ralph now has ‘his team’. Unfortunately Ralph has had to work with the playing squad assembled for him (including the rubbish that was left) and the back room team he’s been given.
  22. Might depend who is casting the final vote, if it’s Crocker or Semmens then Cooper would fit their bill. If it’s SR, they might show more ambition. I wouldn’t be overjoyed with Cooper. Cracking job last season and was popular at Swansea. But it feels a bit like Adkins going to Reading, where he couldn’t recreate his time with us there.
  23. Except he’s currently in a job. Hopefully SR will break that mould. Poch aside (which won’t happen), Svensson from what I’ve read, or Frank (who I can’t see leaving Brentford for us) would probably be the most ambitious choices.
  24. If Ankersen has a list then hope they are attainable targets who we’ve already sounded out. Under previous management the list has taken weeks to sort itself, before eventually stumbling across someone (who’d always been our number one choice) after presumably other talks had broken down. Am fearing we still have some Les DNA in our management.
  25. I didn’t think the coach appointments could be other than SR or board choices. Seemed unlikely that Ralph would have scoured Europe to find a Spanish coach working in Copenhagen.
