  1. Perfect.
  2. And still won't this season unfortunately.
  3. If they move our game to before the SF then they'll also have to move Leicester v West Brom As we're due to play WBA on Monday 12th its questionable if they could squeeze the extra fixture in unless Thursday (if we play Sunday), or if our WBS match is brought forward to the weekend but that is probably already set in stone for tv purposes.
  4. yes, you're correct, my mistake about the internationals.
  5. Can we now close this thread, for a fortnight at least ?
  6. Can you imagine the hysteria had we lost today ? This would have lasted through the international break. Would hope this gives some confidence, and positivity looking ahead to a SF. Hopefully the break gives a chance for other players to build fitness (KWP for example) and others to return when we restart (Ings and Walcott) in April. I think Ralph and co need the mini-break to regroup. Just hope neither JWP or Armstrong pick up injuries whilst away.
  7. Noticed that three of our possible opponents (Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd) all play in European matches the week before the SF date (17th April). Sod's Law then that we end up facing Everton or Leicester. Looking at the fixtures ahead of the SF and slightly concerned that those running the game will insist we play the rearranged fixture v Palace in the week ahead of the semi, and we're already due to play WBA on the Monday night. So, would they insist on a Thursday v Palace if our SF is on a Sunday ? As it's only Saints they probably will. The following week is another wasteland of Internationals.
  8. Have to hope this gives him the confidence boost for the rest of the season.
  9. Might have been a League Cup win in there with those two under Puel though had they been available.

    Che Adams

    And increase his sale value...
  11. An ex- Saint no less.
  12. Christ, I'd forgotten that day in the 1973/4 season
  13. Stands out doesn't it ? Hoping the upset is so glaringly obvious that we buck the trend and win! You'd have thought the OP was almost wishing it.
  14. Piss poor performance, and despite Ralph's comments we just didn't seem motivated or organised from the start. Tella was an inivisible man for much of the game. At one point one of our delicate little flowers was 'outmuscled' off the ball by NIvea. Says it all.
  15. I can see that happening actually, despite all the hype about Howe he won't be considered for the sort of job he was originally touted for so will be looking for something else, probably locally. Personally, I'd prefer to stick with Ralph, but lets face it without investment we're stuffed whoever is in charge.
  16. ‘Sideways’ Magilton and Glenn(da) Cockerill used to take a fair deal of flak at one time. Going back Lew Chatterley was a bit of a skapegoat in the 70’s especially after relegation when he’d just joined from Lawrie’s old club. Hugh Fisher about the same time, although redeemed himself with his part in our cup run.
  17. In terms of cone stackers no one comes close to Dennis T-Shirt though
  18. I remember seeing Skates fans referring to this fixture as Scummers v Bummers.
  19. Frank Worthington was a bit of a nemesis in the 1970’s. On joining us though in 1983 he went on a bit of a goal drought. Thought it a shame Lawrie didn’t sign him earlier though.
  20. Looked "good enough" for a while after he joined Everton.
  21. When was the last time they lost two league games at home in a row ? Actually I'll accept a draw on Wednesday, we can save beating them until the Cup Final. Lets not be greedy.
  22. Even WBA under Allardyce are able to grind out a result, even with 10 men for much of the game at Burnley the other week.
  23. Is there any likelihood that KWP will be fit for this ? Any news on Diallo ?
  24. Think it probably helps West Brom rather than us
