  1. You’ll have to remind me. Any photos ?
  2. Well done Goodymatt, I think we’d gone about a dozen posts before his Mum was mentioned. I was getting worried I was on the wrong forum.
  3. Having a young and inexperienced manager may also make it a harder ‘sell’ to bring players in. If you’re the young PNE right back (ok on loan from Villa) and have the option of Saints whose manager - rightly or wrongly - is portrayed as this upstart who learnt from playing on a computer, or Coventry whose manager has won everything going, which has the reputation and gravitas ? That said most sign for £ and don’t give a shit about anything else.
  4. No. Have never seen the point of names on the back of shirts (especially adults).
  5. Better than having his name printed on the back of your shirt
  6. I wasn’t sure if you meant as potential Saints manager or if referring to scouting players of just Saints or both sides. None of us know how far advanced his talks with Saints are, if at all. If he thought he had a chance of coming to us,then he might be looking at City players, some of whom might be released. If he isn’t heading to Saints but somewhere else (QPR, or even dropping down to Notts County) then watching players who might be released from either club could have been the intention. On the other hand he might have just fancied a trip to a match, leaving his wife in peace to watch Chelsea Flower Show on BBC2.
  7. Interesting names. Of the three I think only Sargent might be attainable. I think he’s quite underrated actually, opposition fans see a tall bloke with a mop of ginger hair and that’s it. But he’s scored a few for Norwich, seems to get through a lot of work for the team (and caused us a few problems didn’t he at St Mary’s).Yes, old fashioned but a good centre forward would go a long way to improving things. Sainz - bound to have other offers so probably won’t want to stay in the Championship. Rudoni - why leave Coventry for us ? More £ perhaps but are we better placed for next season? Interesting thing for me is that Norwich and Coventry signed Sainz and Rudoni for very little. ( Rudoni from Huddersfield). Just goes to show there are some good players out there if you get your scouting right.
  8. I suspect they'll be raising their sights a bit higher than BBD
  9. Think you may have reasoned it for yourself.
  10. Perhaps he fancies rebuilding his career at an U21 level with City. Many coaches have done well out of that association.
  11. Yes, I remember that. Pilchards put the name on here in the summer.
  12. A week or so ago Still was largely dismissed on here as well.
  13. The Everton article as MLG pointed out is old news (probably from last week) The other snippet though is from tonight, but I don’t see any alarm here. Have to wonder if the club are happy and have enabled this to be leaked so after the Cleverly smokescreen there is a wider acceptance of Still coming in. I’m pretty indifferent to both of them to be honest. Certainly no idea how good or bad Cleverly is, or could be , not really had a great opportunity to test himself.
  14. I scan read your post,, and thought I saw the name Pulis... nearly heart attack time seeing that on a thread about a new Saints manager
  15. This is certainly part of Saints Forum folklore isn't it ? Although I think it was an earlier version (was it Saints Forever era?)
  16. Maybe, perhaps a Norwich or Swansea. Mid-table Championship with an outside chance of a run at promotion. We start next season, with the advantage of parachute payments, and are a relatively attractive option in that league. But that is dependent on making the right player recruitment. Any such advantage could easily be frittered away with the wrong managerial appointment (whether it’s inexperience or just wrong candidate).
  17. If we missed out on Still as well …. do you really see other clubs rushing to take a chance on him ? We’re the only daft bastards doing that. This ranks with the appointment of Nathan Jones as giving someone an opportunity in a league and level above their experience.
  18. Every bit as underwhelming as the appointment of Martin, but at least he'd had a couple of years in the EFL. Ridiculous gamble.
  19. Don't worry if it gets boring he'll spend the rest of the match playing on his X-box.
  20. Wasn't 'Arry a ginger in his younger days ?
  21. Don’t have to see Line-acre presenting MOTD either after this weekend. Not that I’ll watch it much next season. So,that’s over too.
  22. You might have tapped into something here. In our own way, we’ve found Still, and believe him to be the Simon Clifford of the digital and internet age.
  23. Hasn't he already resigned and left his present club ?
  24. If I needed further convincing. This, coming from someone who has regularly banged the drum for Legohead, is enough to say Still isn’t the right appointment for us.
  25. Similar to what I read (£4m to EPL). And we paid how much for Sulemana???
