  2. I seem to recall Gabbiadini having a motoring offence whilst with us. Guly - didn’t he put his 4x4 into a bus shelter whilst under the influence ? Thomas Hjato - charged somewhere for importing illegal cigarettes from recollection

Sure their selection isn’t influenced by their other halves ?

For 70’s perms it would have to be KK. 80’s perms - Glenn Cockerill 80’s mullet - Mark Dennis
  5. Disappointing to read about them possibly remaining. If Adams considers staying it’ll be because no other EPL club are offering him a contract. Will that dawn on our people?
  6. No, please no. Complete overhaul in the GK dept required in my book. Although Club probably won’t agree and imagine Bazunu will improve beyond recognition by not playing.
  7. Yeh, but apart from that ….

Disappointing but not entirely surprising as age (and of course his recent injury) weren’t on his side. He’s certainly been one of my favourite players in recent years, at a time when there haven’t been many that we’ve been able to identify with. Haven’t read or heard anything negative about him in his time here. Have enjoyed watching him play, and especially some of his “belters” ; my personal favourite v Coventry in the cup. Good song too, although like Gabbiadini that might continue after he’s left. Had hoped we might see him for another season, but not to be. Can only wish him well, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up in a DoF role somewhere in the future.
  9. When I see Belgrade, I can’t help think Golac, if only we could get a Golac equivalent now. ( Yes, I know he signed from Partizan before the purists jump on it).
  10. No idea really on the first part, but wasn’t there a similar situation when Fonte left/ forced out depending on your standpoint? On the one hand he was acting like a knob, and was diruptive behind the scenes (which both at the time, and now seemed a bit out of character), on the other it was said Reed wanted to move him on due to his age and the stories were said to be a campaign of ‘misinformation’. We’ll never likely know the truth on this either. For me, both players played a significant part in our rise from L1 and retain credit for that. Not sure on the coming back bit though.
  11. Charles I would have thought might have been a Wilcox link, Martin stressed how he’d wanted to sign Stewart at previous clubs. Holgate … well there was no rhyme or reason behind that. One of those signings that probably no one will admit to.
  12. Interesting. The Swansea fan I know (and who has been fairly spot on in his observations) raved about Rodon above all the other players they’ve lost in recent years.
  13. If Stewart and Delgado many years ago can get through an SFC medical…
  14. Yes, Rodon is a good shout. I noticed in one post match interview Martin mentioned him for a specific clearance he made. I read Spurs were looking at £15m. Was he at Swansea the same time as RM ?
  15. Normally at this time of year we look at the Championship to see who we might plunder. This year the players Iinked to an EPL move that I’d like to see us go for would be Clarke (Sunderland) and Greaves ( Hull CB). The danger this year though is that signing Championship players, we might remain a Championship level team. So some PL experience would be useful (and from players who’ve cut it there before, not some of our own who haven’t) .
  16. I thought it was more of a case that we had an option at an agreed fee, but the player just rejected the move
  17. There were times last season when Smallbone seemed too lightweight and ineffective when we needed a stronger midfield but credit to him, he certainly stepped up when needed at the critical end of season. Thought he was flawless in the three play off matches, seemed to add a bit of physicality to his game, not brushed off the ball so easy, and always available to take a pass and move it on. His goal v WBA reminded me of Chaplow, who I rated.
  18. I’m not sure it would be a sensible move to sign a bloke, a grown man, who is only ever seen out dressed as characters from Harry Potter. Knowing our luck we’d spend £15-20m and he’d be sectioned under some Mental Health Act before a ball is kicked.
  19. Didn’t see it, but didn’t Leeds start something similar in the early 1970’s under Don Revie ? Thankfully it didn’t catch on for about 40 years.
  20. If it’s Dortmund then I hope they do the right thing and invite Wealdstone to a pre-season friendly. Just so the Raider can stand in front of their famous yellow wall end and tell them “ you’ve got a shit ground, and you’ve got no fans “ ( in English or German)
  21. Anyway, bollocks to the more modern stuff ( as good as Freed from Desire was last week - excellent in fact and the skids are), it should be mandatory to finish your event with OWTS by Louis Armstrong. The neighbours won’t know what’s hit them when your full garden gets going on Satchmo’s version of that for a finale
  22. For those of us of a certain age, only the Skids version will do
  23. Perhaps we should agree to roe back on this theme
  24. Not since (someone thinking) Rupert Lowe was spotted driving down the Aston Expressway on a Sunday evening has a transfer been so clearly in the making. * * and for the younger readers that didn’t happen either.
  25. Good rumour based solely on him having a day out (probably on the piss) in fancy dress with a few mates !!
