Just from the highlights worth adding that Romeu should have prevented them working the cross in the first place. No way the bloke runs through the Romeu of old like that. Romeu’s challenge was the sort of effort Smallbone was regularly criticised for. That’s not to defend Manning or Bazunu but there were two chances to cut that out before it got to Bazunu.

Sadly they probably have a good chance of winning it as on the subject of fiction, they’ll no doubt trumpet the fact Charles Dickens was born there. As was Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The only other games I remember us scoring away at this rate were Wolves away (won 6-2) in 1976, and Carlisle (6-0) in 1977. Haven’t been able to see the HT scores on either but don’t recall us scoring 5 in the first half.

That’s a good point you make. Really sounds like what in the 70’s was referred to as “Total Football”. Tonda style. But can we expect it every week ?
