  1. Are you asking on behalf of your mate, Ross ?
  2. Well done for your perseverance, both this morning and following Saints that long. Pleased you managed to get your ticket. Hope it’s not a scam At 89 you’re computer savvy, which is to be commended. Some of my relatives around the same age wouldn’t know where to begin or simply don’t have their own internet access. What happens to their quest for a ticket ? (I’m in my 60’s and have to say I find the push to everything online, and only online, gets on my pip.)
  3. This might help, in case you hadn’t seen it.
  4. He may be very well thought of, but there will come a point when even his most fervent supporters at the club accept that he’s conceded a few too many ‘might have done betters’ , and they’ll look to move him out of the spotlight for his own good. Have to wonder who his main supporters are, and whether Martin, without Wilcox in his ear, will continue to select him regardless.
  5. Surely even new members will need a purchasing history to buy ?
  6. That’s a bloody good point about older generation fans, some of whom might have held ST continually since The Dell, having to navigate this system.
  7. I expect Leeds will be trying to hack into the heavily encrypted Circle ⭕️ of Trust site. They do have some form for espionage and such underhand methods under Bielsa a few years ago of course. But perhaps Pilchards is already setting up camp in a tree overlooking their training ground .
  8. Any whisper or threat of the bastard trains being on strike ?
  9. Wealdstone FC opened up their facilities for the League Cup (in old money) and SF match. Wonder if that will be available again.
  10. Haven’t we dropped the most points from winning positions ?
  11. Most of these things are a bit egotistical, with some measure of ‘bellendery’ often thrown in. The WBA pair come across really well don’t they ? And the end product is always quite entertaining and interesting. Have thought me and my sons should do one, ‘Badger Uncensored’ but I’d probably have been banned from St Mary’s by now.
  12. Ballsed up that post !!
  13. In hindsight his dispute with Chris Nicholl and subsequently the club, is the blot on Dennis time with us. I didn’t think protests got going as they might have done as the next home game with protests planned was postponed (as I recall) due to a waterlogged pitch. I arrived in a pub in Southampton after a two hour drive to be told it was off. At the time I suspected Chris Nicholl had been up all night witn a hose. It was unfortunate as it came to a head after a press article and the episode meant we sold one of our better players and it damaged Nicholl’s popularity for a while.
  14. Dennis remains in my view the best LB I’ve seen in my time following Saints (1960’s). Many will make a case for Bridge, but MD met every criteria of being able to defend, tackle (sometimes over enthusiastic) , and cross the ball ( remember the Wallace overhead kick). Cult figure in his time with us.
  15. More likely to be nearer Kurt Zouma’s cat with Dennis’ on field reputation
  16. None of the reasons you give would make RM a contender for the Brighton job, only why he might be interested in it. I can’t see Brighton regarding him as sufficiently experienced (for where they now see themselves).
  17. Any idea what the allocation is for away teams there ?
  18. Isn’t Jimmy Saville ‘one of theirs’ ?
  19. Also, we changed at WBA, but they remained in their home kit last night. That didn’t seem to confuse anyone.
  20. Thanks, but doesn't explain the term "wools" , for exiles or 'out of towners'. Any further background ? Genuinely interested. (Is this a Southampton phrase ?)
  21. He and mate had one each. Facing prosecution, but told they don't have a leg to stand on.
  22. One thing I saw last night stuck with me, a bloke ran on with his son (probably 11-12) from the Itchen corner. They went past a WBA player, big black bloke (No 4 I think), and the child stood next to him and said something , the player looked down, and then the lad held out his hand to shook hands with the player. Does this represent a better class of hooligan at Saints, or should we call for banning orders and tell them to fuck off and follow rugby instead, as there is no place for such behaviour at football ?
  23. Can you imagine explaining to them this morning, or on Monday morning, why they won't be going to Wembley , or St Mary's for a while ? I understand the euphoria that led to it, but it did end the celebrations for most people and the team prematurely. Also accept what Billy says that not everyone acted badly, the goading of the WBA fans was unnecessary and pointless. There are some clubs that merit abuse perhaps, but don't think Albion fans deserved that crap. Wonder if all the hard cases would have been so keen if it was Milwall, or at Wembley with Leeds ?
  24. Chairman's vote of confidence and all that ..... Nothing would be off limits for Saints. From my time following them, just when you think things are harmonious and fine someone throws a bit of a fit and it all falls out. I'm thinking Alan Ball leaving us, Merrington being sacked despite having achieve the season's goal, the Souness tantrum, Pearson not being kept., Koeman moving on, all at times when you thought things were settled at the end of the season. We don't know the set up, and how working relationships have gelled, or how Wilcox fucking off will affect things.
  25. Have we really extended his contract ? We seem to have a blind spot in a)identifying GK's , and b)then offering contracts their performances simply don't warrant, and at times when if anything we should be looking to offload them.
