  1. I too would like to be outraged and express my disgust at not being offered a discount on something that I'm unlikely to buy in any event. Open letters are called for. Note1. - insert photo pf KIrk and Dad. Note 2 -on a serious note agree with you, principle of it is pretty poor (I think even Lowe might have offered some concessions to ST holders).
  2. Their home kit puts us to shame, simple and effective. Helped by a more subtle sponsor logo as well. Away kit is pretty bland in my view.
  3. Think it might have improved a fraction over the last year (Downes, THB, and high hopes of Sugawara) but it still has a long way to go before it gets back to 2014-16 levels. It's been a decline since then 2022/Jan 23 possibly the low point.
  4. Can't accuse him of being a miserable or boring bastard can you ?
  5. Hoping you’re wrong obviously. Bloody long journey home after a shit show. Sunderland was bad enough. Not sure what is worse to face, the journey home, the jubilant home fans, or smug glow off of Eddie Howe which will radiate high into the away end.
  6. Thanks for being such a positive ray of sunshine. I was focusing on the transfers, and contract decisions, specifically in the GK dept. Gunn, Forster contract extension, Bazunu, McCarthy contract extension. Let’s not start on the striker issue. Some valid points you raise. Revisit it at the end of the transfer window, and again at end of October.
  7. Agree that a contrast colour would be better. Wasn’t an early rumour that it would be pink and purple/maroon, or pink and black ? That might have worked depending on the shades of each (not high vis, dayglo pink).
  8. Many on here were quick to point out Johnstone’s limitations and that he was overrated. Sad that he’s now considered a vast improvement on our current options. Incredible lack of judgement in signing Bazunu as first choice GK at that time, for the sum involved. Another poor decision, in an ever growing line of them.
  9. Is he the new Harry Winks ?
  10. Is that the Aberdeen bloke ? Now got a drink named after him. Sign him up.
  11. Not sure why there is such surprise at this, I think both Everton and Leicester have had fairly bold pink kits previously, it's just following the fashion.
  12. Just bring out a pair of yellow shorts for these away games , and job done. Probably no need for a third kit.
  13. On a similar theme keeping Sulemana and Mara locked in a cupboard might have been a sound policy. They’d probably have been as effective as well.
  14. Also have to consider protecting the asset. If either break their leg that’s the transfer buggered

    Tyler Dibling

Interesting comments in Transfer thread about what position did he play in etc, and reply that he “floated around” a bit yesterday. Dibling is clearly a talent, and at Oxford the other night he did look reminiscent of MLT in his running style and close control. Concern I’d have for Dibling is how managers would look to maximise his impact or try to pigeon hole him into a specific role. Not sure the modern game would allow us to tell him just to go out there and do his thing, creating mayhem for the opposition, etc. MLT would find it more difficult to break through now. Modern coaches might be more inclined to the Branfoot style (don’t forget your defensive duties) rather than Bally ( taking the shackles off and allowing him to play as a ‘free spirit’).
  16. No. With our GK’s and some of the defensive options I’m more concerned we concede 8-10goals a time in 3 or more matches.
  17. Such a good impression the player ended up at Hull.
  18. Totally agree with you, but that’s a total of five further signings. Seems a bit optimistic to be honest, especially if they are going to be players to improve us rather than just to bloat the squad. GK a critical signing in my view.
  19. Could we exclude Bazunu from the squad given it’s unlikely we’ll see him play (this side of Christmas anyway) ?
  20. No idea. Ask again once we’ve seen him play.
  21. Exactly. ‘ Cake and eat it’ springs to mind. Shame as although he might not have been a regular starter I think he’d have offered us something this year.
  22. But he doesn’t want to see out the contract, sounds that he wants to leave, possibly on a free, but also wants his club to pay his final year.
  23. This is what I read somewhere. At one stage his return seemed nailed on, but it was subject to Fraser agreeing terms on leaving Newcastle. Suggestion was that he wanted them to pay up the final year of his contract leading to a stand off.
  24. I think this was all said in the early stages of last season. He looked highly impressive coming on as sub but when starting v QPR looked a bit out of his depth and not ready. He needs careful handling, and gradual introduction not thrown in and seeing confidence destroyed. Difficult to balance I know.
  25. Yet we struggle to find one
