  1. Get to work on your open letter
  2. No subs then either, so no tweaking the shape bollocks to interrupt the match
  3. He’s coming for you,he’s coming for you, you paella eating bastards , Sir Francis Drake is coming for you …
  4. Christ on a bike , what shade of pink!! If you’d have asked a Saints fan under the East Stand at The Dell in the days of the Dockers Enclosure (1970’s and before) , “what shade of pink shirt would you like to see Saints play in” , you’d have probably ended up with a smack in the mouth. So we’ve moved on from that obviously, just hope it’s not the high vis pink as shown.
  5. I’m also pleased to see some GK links (apart from Steele who seems a more expensive for the EPL version of Lumley). Maik Taylor was very unlucky to be displaced at Saints and could have been our GK for a few years but for Dave Jones wanting to bring Paul Jones from Stockport with him. (Paul Jones who in his prime would also be an upgrade on Bazunu).
  6. Here’s another write up. https://www.leftbackfootball.com/home/2022/11/18/kuryu-matsuki-fc-tokyos-prodigious-box-to-box-midfielder Certainly has potential. Although the European leagues are going to be a lot more physical than what’s he used to he’ll need to develop his strength along the way. WGS was highly complimentary about the dedication of the Japanese players he had at Celtic and Japan have shown themselves to have some good players at World Cups. I’m hoping we get some Yoshida style service and commitment from Matsuki, Sugarawa, and the other youngster.
  7. Would never have thought (in the 70's or 80's) that The Archies, Sugar Sugar, would have been something to consider singing on the terraces !. For pure nostalgia, had a look on Youtube for it being played on TOTP or similar. From 1969. Strange and sad to think that all the slim little Doris's in mini-skirts then, are now possibly grannies, with tits down to their knees. Or dead. Aneka - Japanese Boy, another contender from the backlog.
  8. This contradicts the earlier suggestion that it would be a return to conventional stripes (which I think had been leaked or picked up by one of the local Echo journalists).
  9. Or that have run in the wash.
  10. Yes he is, and not so far up the crocked list like Ings etc.
  11. The Dutch bloke looks quite useful, albeit at a lower standard. But it does seem that RM has so far seemed keen to keep the nucleus of the team British.
  12. As said on another thread I'm surprised this hasn't resurfaced given the Mowbray connection.
  13. Agree, would have been my preference but possibly five times the cost.
  14. Yes,I think that was based on the cartoon image. (Christ, think I’ve got one of those badges somewhere, cost about 50p in the 1970’s - now someone wants £28 for one!!)
  15. I’ve now found the full article. https://rowzfootball.wordpress.com/2014/09/10/saints-and-pompey-mapping-the-rivalry/ I think the white areas are where no research has been done, or answers submitted. Clearly isn’t a large sample and as the writer says was done for fun. Also, ten years old.
  16. Oh ffs !! What a load of techobollocks. I’m sure there’s a generation of fucking IT super- nerds (with throbbing veins protruding on their forehead) who spend their days thinking of ways to make it more convoluted for the over 50’s and 60’s. How many bastard passwords (with special characters) will we need to log in ? Have to get there early next season folks, otherwise there will be a scrum of old farts like me stuck outside the turnstile.
  17. Yes you could. But I’d be inclined to factor their injury record into the decision making. ‘No’ from me largely for that reason as well.
  18. Found this whilst searching internet for something else. For those living locally, how accurate do you think this is ? Indicates a fairly even split in Winchester although I always regarded that as firmly Saints territory. Romsey, Stockbridge also ‘ours’.
  19. * only if and when fit perhaps
  20. Shame they can’t recreate the old monk/Saint cartoon character (with his walking staff) from the Echo many years ago, always thought that a great image the club could have adopted. Have searched internet but unable to find an image, or name of cartoonist.
  21. Thanks, that’s a useful explanation that even an old IT retard like me could follow.
  22. Tell that to kids today, and they won’t believe you. Think it was 6d for a programme when I started going. No idea how much a half time Bovril was.
  23. Same was said about us for times last season. Came good in the end though, -especially the approach in the play offs- hope it does for England over the next two games
