  1. Generally agree with your list but I’d add Koeman to the likeables.(although have read other comments to detract from that). Met him once came across well. Shame for both him and us he left when and how he did. Pardew is more difficult to list. Was pleased when he came in and I thought he was doing a reasonable job, but he always seemed a bit ‘cold’ in want of another term. I personally didn’t find Jones dislikable , just felt sympathy for him being put in the job. Martin was an egotistical bellend before he joined us.
  2. I was impressed by what I have heard of the Plymouth centre back , Maxi Talivierov. Still only 24, Ukraine international.6’4” (could pass as a Bond villain!). Will probably leave them, Wrexham meant to be interested.
  3. Not sure and can’t be bothered tracking back to see where and how we started listing random CB’s but it wouldn’t be complete without mention of: The young Ruddock Chris Nichol (guaranteed promotion) Jim Steele And going back to the Alehouse: John McGrath

It’s more fundamental than that. All he has to worry about is getting on the pitch in the first place
  5. Read about him after someone else mentioned him a while back. Articles linking him with Newcastle c£15m. Would he join us from Coventry? Apart from £ perhaps. I fear that playing for Frank might appeal to him more. Worth remembering Coventry signed him from Huddersfield. There are decent players out there if you can uncover them.
  6. Fair enough on Livramento I didn’t think our share was that high. It seems Ipswich are stuffed by the release clause as much as anything. Player power etc. But if the City % is on the fee rather than the profit then they’ve really ballsed up. On subject of release clauses, it seems that Rohl was badly advised on his.
  7. Didn’t we have a similar situation with Livramento? The concept of taking young players who aren’t going to get the chance at City/Chelsea was a good one and did open up a rich seam to tap from. But you have to wonder how advantageous it is, with sell on % , especially if the potential sale is capped by a release clause. Seems these moves are becoming glorified loans.
  8. Agree. Would certainly like to see an end to some of the tacky crap we’ve had.
  9. SAGA perhaps might be a better fit. Or given some of the crocks we’ve signed BUPA
  10. If you get over the aversion to seeing the initials PO (not my favourite post code) then it’s not a bad sponsor depending on the ££ obviously
  11. Wasn't the design they tried to influence a copy of the Monaco kit ?
  12. Though the ban only started in 2026/7 rather than the coming season
  13. Vast improvement on Salisu's efforts.
  14. Perhaps main reason we’ve signed him. Forget all the which system bollocks we’ve read about Still’s tactical nous. He’s going full on Pulis next season

Added to which is how things work with his coaching staff if they're not part of his team . Lallana for example is older and a more experienced player with caps and medals. How might that fit into the coaching team if he stays ?
  16. I’ll be amazed if Leicester appoint Martin fully aware of the feeling among fans. But then again we know how decisions are made without fully thinking it through by the muppets in charge.
  17. Okay, I stand corrected. But still think Neville is a twat.
  18. Martin deserves all the criticism coming his way after our shit show this season, but it's a bit much coming from Neville. As cast aside and ex-managers who believe their own publicity and guff go, Neville should be commended with a category of his own, a Lifetime Non-Achievement Award.

Ken Monkou (if you want to keep it Saints related).
  20. Was hoping we might have had an exchange involving Cooper at Sheff Utd had they gone up ( with some £ coming out way as well, and not on a loan). Not to be.
  21. It’s him and two brothers isn’t it ? I suppose the collective noun for three brothers at the club is a ‘Wallace of Saints’.
  22. Risk with any appointment. I’m not convinced by it, but who knows ? By Christmas we might be hoping we stave off interest from West Ham after Potter fails, or we could be going on another meltdown in October wondering why Spors appointed him in the first place.
  23. I’ve read this in a few places but not convinced of the significance. Better than scrabbling around a few days before player’s return certainly. But It’s only good to have it done early if it’s the right choice. Not sure what input he’ll have if any over the next few days. If he sits down with some of the players to outline he wants to keep them etc then fine, but if they all piss off on holiday before he sets foot in Staplewood then what’s the point ? (No guarantee they’ll stay of course but I’d hope efforts were made). If Rohl goes to Leicester next week for example then it would seem we’ve missed what has been reported as our no 1 target for the sake of just getting it done.
  24. Fair point. Out of interest did he sign for Still originally as well ?
  25. If Still is officially confirmed then I’m fully expecting a poll: Lucy P or Emma S ?
