I used to play football in the 80's with a guy whose Dad owned the 100 Club in London. About 15 years ago we were in London and popped in to see the guy (as he worked for his Dad). Sat in there was a guy who looked like Jim Bowan. My mate confirmed it was him and said he came in a lot and always got up and sung if there was a jazz band on. Sure enough he got up towards the end of the night and he was a bloody brillant singer. One of the guys with us was a bit ****ed and afterwards went up to him and said "That was Super Smashing Lovely Jim". Bowan turned round and said "**** off you w*****. He was a really good singer though.

I dont know if its true or not, but from my untrained eye the players dont look as fit as the opposition this season.

Haven't Man Utd been given reduced allocations at some grounds due to standing in past visits? The issue isn't standing, the issue is standing in front of a nipper who therefore can not see the game.

I thought Pardew was going through the motions towards the end of last season, and nothing that I've seen so far this season suggests any different.

He was going to Boscombe but didn't because of their transfer embargo, we were never offered him, and never showed any interest in him. That came from Tommy Killick Poole Town's Manager.

That's what I'm going to do next time, speak to stewards and get him done front. As I say we dont get to too many away games due to work, but he does enjoy visiting different grounds.

My understanding is that most Managers who have resigned in this situation have done so because their club have not allowed them to speak to another club.I dont think there's been many instances where they been allowed to speak, have agreed personal terms, but have then resigned over the compo. The compo is pretty stright forward, it's either written into the contract or is what's left on the Managers contract. I honesty believe either a deals been done and not announced yet, NC's got cold feet, or is awaiting a reply from someone else. . I can not believe we are argueing over compo for a low paid manager with less than a year left on his contract.

The other thought I had was over the home clubs stewards and police. After I moved I could see the police going into the side stand, but not getting anywhere, in fact they were pretty useless. My opinion is the home club either turn a blind eye and let people sit/stand where they want, or if they're going to insist on allocated seats then enforce sitting.Otherwise you end up with the worst of both worlds.

The side stand was sold out and it wasn't a last minute thing. I got there early to get a seat down the front,but was told about 3 times to sit in the seat allocated. Will proberly try and get a seat down the front when booking in future if at all possible. The dissapointing thing was some of the Saints fans attitude, which was basically tough ****. When I was a nipper people would go out of their way to ensure I could see. I've no problem if people want to stand, provided everyone who wants to sit can see the game. I book in the Chapel, because I know the nipper will be able to see. Dont forget these nippers are the future supporters of the Club, they wont want to keep going to away games if they cant see much of the game.

I don't get to go to too many away games as I have to work 2 Saturdays a month, and I try to arrange them around away games so I get to SMS as much as possible. However, having the day off yesterday took the nipper to Swindon. Straight from the start he had a slight problem in that he couldn't see a bloody thing, even though he was stood up. After about 20 minutes I asked a Steward if we could move and we were moved to the open stand behind the goal. I was wondering what other peoples thoughts on this were? When I was a nipper, it may sound a cliché but it's true, youngsters were moved down the front if they couldn't see. Is this the way we as supporters should act, should the people in the first few rows swap seats with the youngsters who view is impaired by people standing. Do you think that youngsters should not come to away games, until they are a certain height. Or do you think that people should seat down and let the youngsters see. Do you think it's down to our Club or the home Club to ensure that youngsters get to see the match form their seat. There was a bit of agrro with other groups arguing with each other, but most people around me were saying sorry but if they sat down they couldn't see either. My lad did not travel 2 hours to watch the back of someone's head (although perhaps that would have been as enjoyable).His trip to Wembley would also have meant a partial view, if we hadn't of swopped seats with other supporters. For some reason this is an emotive subject and I realise I'm leaving myself open to "I'm a better supporter than you" nonsense. However, I couldn't give a shiny **** whether I sit down or stand up, but surely we need youngsters to be able to watch their team.It isn't an issue about the rights and wrongs of standing, but purely down to the fact he was too small to see anything. The view from the terraces was not as good as from seats, but it was made up with the atmosphere.You did have a choice and could go and sit in the stands, we have no choice now. I'm off to drag my 46 year old body round the local rec now, but would be interested in reading peoples thoughts when I get back.

I thought Péricard looked sharper, stronger and more interested than Lambert. Fonte and Puncheon were poor, even Kelvin dropped an easy cross. Butterfield just hoofs it and Hammond ran around in circles. DC's legs have gone and there was nothing on the bench. Really really worried now, it was so poor.

Wilkins is doing his best,which is **** poor admittedly, but I dont think all the players are, and I bet they're paid a damn sight more.

Just got back, awful game, terrible attitude from some of the players, in my opinion. It's one thing blaming Wilkins but people should start to look at our so called "stars". Highlight of the game was their mascot's dancing, just about sums it up. 2 very poor teams.

This doesn't make sense to me. Surely it's the buying Club that should be trying to get hold of the selling club. I would have though Wharton would be trying to aviod Nicola's calls to keep hold of his Manager, not the other way round. Makes me start to believe it's not going to happen.

I remember Ronnie Moore waving and walking around Rotherhams ground in what was supposed to be his last game before moving to Ipswich, the whole thing then went and fell through. I was pretty sure a deal was going to be done today, but that Adkins would take over Monday and be placed on gardening leave by Scunny. I think that if neg's were at an advance stage then he wont be Managing them tomorrow. I just have a gut feeling that this is going to fall through. The money is peanuts, why wasn't it done today? NC is ruthless, he would have got his man by now if Adkins was a nailed on number 1 choice.

My opinion is Howe went for an interview. When he spoke to Mitchell he asked him what the score was, Howe said he wasn't interested even if they came back and offered it to him, this appears to have happened after it became obvious that Adkins was target number 1. Mitchell then spun it differently to the press, saying he had turned down an offer, it was telling that Mitchell made a point of saying the interview was Thursday, when in fact many have posted it was before then.I was always led to believe that it is more a question of "are you still interseted" rather than an offer. I'm pretty certain that a concrete offer is only made when the Club know the interviewed Manager still wants the job. If not they end up looking like Mitchell's tried to make us look like. I've been to interviews where I know I aint getting the job and it's funny how Eddie Howe's rejection came after it became obvious that Adkins was target number 1. To me Adkins and Howe (and others interviewed) Adkins offered Problems so Howe sounded out Howe realised he wasn't original choice so told Mitchell he'd said no Mitchell opens big mouth.

They cant go around denying each and every piece of nonsense written. The statement on the O/S is pretty stright forward and as always Nicola is conducting business away from the media glare. Eddie Mitchell was and continues to be someone not to be trusted. If Milan Mandric had made such a statement about Leicester's Manager nobody would believe him, Eddie Mitchell is cut from the same cloth. Forum rules prevent me from going further, but it wouldn't take much research to find out what sort of man he is.

Anyone who believes a word Eddie Mitchell says is deluded. Is there any other confirmation that Howe turned the job down, other than Mitchell claiming he did? Mitchell made this statement "He's made his mind up - he's staying, whether they [southampton] come back or not." Does anyone seriously believe Howe could reject NC's offer and that NC would still "come back"? There's no doubt he was interviwed, but where is the proof he was offered the job?

If Mitchell's mouth moved, he's lying.
