  1. Whether it’s a Tory or Labour government, my heart sinks when I read a report like that.
  2. ‘Fanny flasher’
  3. Good question, I don’t really have an opinion to be honest. It’s happened a lot down the years across all parties. Interestingly, the MP in question is Prue Leith’s son.
  4. Seeing as Reform currently lead the opinion polls, it’s only right that Farage gets significant air time.
  5. Having a sitting Tory MP defect to Reform is a significant development.
  6. An odd analogy but it is the case that many Tories and Tory voters do feel that the party has been too let’s say Liberal rather than left wing, over many years.
  7. Streeting, because Burnham is proper left. I have a lot of time for Streeting, very impressed by him.
  8. Have we got a travel thread?
  9. Give it a rest FFS, we’re talking about Italy now
  10. Sounds good, we’ve just booked Lake Garda and Como for next year, first time doing Italian lakes.
  11. You do realise that it’s possible to agree with some of his views but disagree with others?
  12. He did though, he would completely discredit their arguments. Perhaps they hated him because he made them look so bloody stupid.
  13. Another life ruined
  14. What has he said that was racist? Genuine question.
  15. Always found it odd that those in the anti-fascist movement struggle to understand the meaning of the word fascist.
  16. I don't think so, why, do you?
  17. A contradiction in terms? An ordinary citizen wouldn't have a lengthy criminal record.
  18. Kirk spoke a lot of sense but like a lot of Americans, had a blind spot when it came to gun control and their constitution. They could always have a third amendment. Time for another look at the Jim Jefferies gun control clip on YouTube.
  19. Shame, he speaks very highly of you.
  20. I'm certainly not advocating that, and I think you know that. The point I am making is that someone who puts their children into a private school will still be paying for state schools, which is fine. I just don't think VAT should then be applied to private school fees. I'm lucky to have private health care through my company, but I'm taxed on it as a benefit in kind.
  21. Although Lord Kinnock suggested recently there should be.
  22. Because someone who pays for private schooling is still paying for state schools as part of their taxes, they don't get a deduction on their income or council tax.
  23. Has the change of policy on private school VAT exception resulted in increased tax revenue?
