  1. Must admit I feel a bit like this sometimes as well
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDO0afWNH5E&feature=related Even looks a bit like Wilde.....
  3. I reckon they need the right motivation and sadly our management and board can't provide it. We'll in all probability go down, but can see us being Lg 1 play-off material in 2011/12 IF we get a proper manager and a bit of investment. If not, :(
  4. Too right. And a lot of clubs in this country do provide pizza, chicken or, in some instances in the non-leagues, fish and chips on the coach home. My job and social life means that I'm often driving between Hants and London/Essex and so have the (mainly unwanted) familiarity with Fleet services, and the amount of footie teams who have either played us, Skates or Bournemouth and are nipping back up north and have stopped there for a "meal" is unbelievable. In the past year alone I've seen our ressies and youth teams and players from practically every CCC team and leagues below munching on chicken, pizzas, burgers, full fat coke, orange juice.....you get the picture. It's like a **** World Cup in there some evenings.
  5. They'd put council tax up a lot more than 1% to pay for it, that I do know. And who's to say they'd give us carte blanche to use it exclusively? Especially two-thirds empty next season. Can see it becoming an all year pop venue, where we see f-all proceeds...
  6. Doncaster was the tipping point for most of us. Just feel that there's still a lot to play for and the players are improving. Could protests be used by the board as a stick to beat us all with if we do go down? I'm all for protesting if it CAN change things, but fear with this lot in charge, it's an empty gesture and could be one we all regret later.
  7. I'm sure most don't. Unfortunately, I also remember bumping into the reserves at Fleet services after an away game somewhere and they were all hanging round Burger King in their tracksuits. And the fruit machines.....
  8. Fine sentiments and you're absolutely right. Just worries me that, should Lowe and the others feel they have no choice but to go, who would be interested in stabilising a club in administration and heading towards financial meltdown along with lost TV revenue, ST losses and lower crowds that is League One? I'm no pro-Lowe and Wilde-ist but makes more sense to hope we can ride out the growing storm and somehow attract investment from someone who gives a **** about making our club strong. All protests will do is make everyone feel slightly better until the next defeat. That's all the last one achieved, good though it felt at the time.
  9. Thanks!! This is more common than I suspect a lot of people are aware of, especially in clubs who are committed to providing players with some semblance of hot food which will be eaten, rather than chucked on the floor or in the bin. It's also different to their pre-match meal, which presumably the club also provides from it's own kitchens as it has to be more balanced and light enough to play football on three-odd hours later.
  10. Yes they did do apparently. Not that I've ever tried 'em. Just going on what I was told from my neighbour. She said she was surprised that pro footballers ate KFC and pizza but just thought they burnt off the excess calories during the warm down so...? Pizzas are a regular occurence in the dressing rooms of many Lg 1 and 2 clubs, after the game. And at Arsenal apparently. Fergie got hit by a piece a few years ago after they played Man U allegedly. I said allegedly. It was never proven. Corporate meals take time to prepare and so the club tends to ensure that paying clients are given priority to the restaurant kitchen on match days. It's a sad state of affairs when the club can't offer it's own team food from it's kitchens after a match. On the plus side though, the pizzas do seem to get delivered quickly at the end of a game, so no-one can complain they're starving after running about like headless chickens for the previous 90+ minutes. The players also eat Jaffa cakes at half time, and some are allowed hot chocolate at h/t as well. It's all energy. They do burn it off after though, unlike me....
  11. Sorry, I thought this was common Knowledge that they either have pizza or KFC after a game? Usually it's pizza, and I know this because my neighbour's little kid was mascot for one of the games last season and his mum told me that the coaching staff were handing out pizza hut menus to the players about an hour before kick off to make their choices. Apparently some other clubs do this as it's cheaper than providing own food cooked on site. They also liked KFC but weren't allowed chips with it, just chicken and corn on the cob and beans, Apparently BWP's favourite is chicken and onion rings from KFC. I think the club restaurants/caterers can't get home-cooked food down the dressing room in time to feed corporates AND the players or something...
  12. "...And if you'd like your handbag contents back, Bradley and Nathan are just over here..."
  13. It won't be Ipswich anyway. They've just signed a left winger, some Argie, for a million quid. Apparently he came from the same junior side as Tevez and Mascherano. I say he'll go on loan to VJB Stuttgardt with a view to a permanent deal come June....
  14. What worries me is this. I used to get loads of transfer rumours from a mate who's a local journalist. Some true, many not as it turned out. Had a drink with him just before Xmas about possible signings and he honestly didn't have a clue if we'd sign anyone in January. Not a clue. He even said he'd not been party to any office speculation after interviews with JP or his coaching team, and none of the other journos were any the wiser. One even told me that he'd been at a press conference with MW and Wilde had been asked about possible targets for January and had said "We haven't made our minds up yet" and this was in mid-December!! One reason he gave is that we desperately need players off the pay-roll before we can sign more. He hinted that some players knew they were going to be sold this month and are just waiting for clubs to come in for them.
  15. Looks good 'til you read that Walsall, Hereford and Northampton also had scouts over looking at him...
  16. Aviva is Norwich Union, right? Well, Ipswich owed them £12 million a few years ago and they simply wrote it off. It does happen, and makes us more desirable to any potential new owner....
  17. One thing. If we go into administration, do we get a points penalty if we're still in it when the league starts again in August? Can see Lowe and Wilde ****ing up and doing it in July or something.....
