Glasgow Which poster is going for surgery in the next few months? It should be me , given as it was cancelled last week after I w3as admitted but it will be in no later than july. AS the NHS have to get BUPA in Stirlingto do it if it is not done by the 5/7/14 I can wait till then , as I have far more faith in the BUPA specialist Shoulder surgeon than the generalist orthopod who is scheduled to do it But then again it might be another poster thats having surgery in the next few months , its rumoured a certain unhappy poster is going to have ground breaking happy pills shunts inserted into their body

Bored this evening . Going through my very old VHS tapes . Saints fans are the guests fans . From what I can see we were playing norwish in the 5th rd if the fa cup . I'm guessing this is 2003 whem we went to the millennium stadium Any of the folk on here who were the saints fans at soccer am Also found a tape where I recorded the saints academy Anybody hoard old VHS tapes like me . I got fifty to go through . Anyone got any gems like me ?

Stick with it Ottery . I know it's frustrating and the enjoyment has gone . I'm also a saints fan who wears my saints heart on my sleeve and like you I want the saints to do well. There have been far more darker days in the past for saints . Look at the branfoot days . I still got behind the team and manager even then There have been times I have come close to walking away from this forum. But if I did then the the blue few and idiots will have won . I have not put Glasgow on my ignore list as some of his posts are amusing So for the time being I am not going to give them that pleasure of walking away like some excellent former members have done

I see it's the mirror who are leading the charge re his dismissal . There are bigger more serious stories in the news than clarksons story . How about the British jihadists in Syria . According to sky they have footage of a prisoner being executed as well as you tube videos requesting funds for their cause Then there's the story of Mr Adams . Anyone worried that if he is charged that it would lead to the troubles in NI again . Not that they have totally gone away . And macguiness comments cannot have helped the potential powder keg . These two stories are of more concern to me than clarksons alleged comments . And I say alleged as I haven't heard them and according to the media it's only when you turn the volume to maximum and enhance them then you apparently can hear the offensive word .

Dalek. ,The fact they are rolling about means they are breathing okay and no airway obstruction . If they have a Broken leg or serious trauma then you lie still as any movement will cause severe pain .

I know decades ago more spinal injuries occured in vehicle accidents as peopled just pulled people out of cars as quickly as possible but in the last ten years the emphasis is on C Spine support before moving. and as you say the medics are on the feild and if they suspect something serious , they take their time , putting splints on before stretchering folk off. its the same at rugby internationals Also its about time the FA etc brought out stiffer rules and fines against those players feigning injury. A player who has a serious injury will basically lie there motionless not rolling about like most of the prima-donna's It was something we were taught years ago when trying to triage patients whether on the sports field , in A&E and and in war zones

I was reminiscing on my early days as a medic .and treating broken legs and torn meniscus. And the recovery time for such injuries was several months for broken legs and a minimum if 8 weeks post mennisectomy before you could contemplate doing any training . Nowadays a player can be back inside a couple if weeks from a torn meniscus Then I thought about Dani Rodrigues and that bad ankle break which took ages to heal and he never really recovered to be the player we all thought he had the potential to be . I compare his injury to gars tons who was out for a very short period I appreciate medical technology and treatment has advanced significantly . But my question is do you think it's the players super levels of fitness , diet etc and advance medical technology that has allowed the player to recover much quicker than a few decades ago or is it purely just medical technology and early diagnosis that has allowed thus to happen In the 60 and 70 broken kegs seemed to occur quite frequently but then that was in the days of big dave Watson , Hugh fisher Jim Steele esq type players who took the man and not the ball But then again I was raised as a boy when dubbin and leather balls and boots with either wooden or leather studs were the norm
