  1. Go for the Virgin thing. I rung up as our Sky + box is on it's last legs and told them I was cancelling my contract and going with Virgin as they are doing a free Virgin+ HD box atthe moment. Lo and behold an Engineer was out 48 hours later with free HD+ Box!
  2. No need really.
  3. OK cheers. What drivers have you got? I need something forgiving as I have a bit of a slice! I play off around 16/17 so it can't be anything too difficult to use but I am a big hitter (300 yds+)
  4. Oh come on! The side profile is almost identical! Try doing some research onthe internet and you will find I'm very much in the majority in thinking so too! Looks quite like it from the back as well although the front is totally different for sure.
  5. I is going.
  6. Lazy day at the Renault design studio?
  7. Glad to see McLaren got rid of those awful rear lights on the earlier prototype!
  8. What putters do you have? After 3 years loyal service from my Rossa Monza it seems to be letting me down a bit at the moment. Like any good golfer I'm positive it's down to the putter and not my technique...
  9. A large wooden summer house type thingy from B & Q. A solar or wind powered generator. A laptop with unlimited use wireless internet (with a very strong aerial!)
  10. I've got a 58 plate Zafira at the moment and an adult really wouldn't want to spend much time in those back seats, even without being hit by a lorry! Also you will have absolutely no luggage space so unless you can get a roof rack and roof box as part of the deal forget it!
  11. I've just locked it mate. Definate no no. Blow jobs and all sorts going on!
  12. I've recently brought a Nissan Terrano (LWB 2.7 TDi). I've not modified it in any way yet but I'm about to fit upgraded shocks. I can't go mad with it as it's also our family transport and needs to do a lot of normal road travel. I take it green laning on Salisbury Plain as often as I can and despite it being a LWB 7 seater it's very capable. All I 've had to rescue so far is my mate in another Terrano who grounded himself in deep tank ruts! Mine's the one on the left;
  13. It would certainly do away with the need for sprinklers!
  14. How did the vet's actually get on? It's all been very quiet on that front!
  15. You said you were open to offers. You didn't say they had to be sensible ones! Seriously though, what lie are they and what sort of price are you looking for? Also, what shafts have they got and are the grips OK?
  16. £50
  17. I agree. Cars with around 100,000 miles on the clock that have been well looked after are a better bet than something that's done 40,000 but has no history. I've owned around 30 different cars in the 19 years I've been driving and the high mileage ones have always needed less money spent on them than the lower mile cars. One in particular sticks in mind which was a Rover 200 SDi which I had as a company car. I had it from new and it was nothing other than an absolute pain for the first 12 months and 100,000 miles (yes I did do 100,000 in 12 months!) but then from 100,000 through to a massive 189,000 (when my company eventually got rid of it) it didn't miss a beat. It was a far nicer car to drive for the 2nd 100,000 as well for some reason! And also, with regards to the GTi engine, my mate had an early mkII Golf Gti with 180,000 miles on it but it had been looked after impeccably. He then had the engine stripped as he had it skimmed and some internals upgraded and the guy doing the work said the inside of the engine block looked like new!
  18. I would personally go for something you aren't going to lose any money on. Something like the mk1 Golf Convertible I suggested would be ideal. I'd preferably get a GTi as the engines will run forever. (My mates Mum had one with over 300k on the clock on the original engine).I've had 2 of them and they are bomb-proof. The only money I had to spend out on either was for a CV boot! They are quick, fun to drive, solidly built, great in the sun and your kids will love going out in it with the roof down. You'll also get classic car insurance on it if you're doing limited mileage and the value will only go up (providing you look after it) Although this one's not a GTi it's a good price and looks very tidy. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/SALES/1121327.htm
  19. And they're both called CS91's? Errr... Ok then.
  20. Yaris is a good call. They've always been well rated in the motoring press.

  25. Have you ever opened up a laptop? If not good luck! Generally to get to the stage where you have a clear view of the system board and screen connections you will have to remove between 30 and 50 screws and more often than not, the entire lid assembly. You will probably also need to remove the screen to check all the cable connections to that as the ribbon cables and inverters are often behind the LCD panel itself in the lid. All I'll say is make a note of where you remove screws from. A good tip is to lay out a piece of A4 paper and as you remove the screws lay them on the paper corresponding to where they came out of the case. Also if you have a digital camera take a couple of pictures of the system board and screen connections before removing any internal cards or cables so you can remember where they came from! Good luck!
