  1. Was watching Question Time last night from Middlesbrough. Apparently 50% of all employment in the city is for the public sector. Well with all their ****ing cushy jobs, low hours, high pensions and good pay you would have thought that more might be able to go support their local football team more often.
  2. yeah, one-way ticket in a box car.
  3. A few million Jews, gays, gypsies and socialists went there once. Not many left though. Nasty business. Not entirely sure what to make of all the 'tourists' descending on the place though. I know it has to be remembered so as to not happen again but can't quite stop thinking it is a bit of a carnival of the morbid.
  4. "You should 'ave bin aaashamed of yerself mate..." Well at least Robinson has a job. P!ss off you muppet. What gives you the right to interfere in someone's job. Anarchic little f uck.
  5. Just another reason why we need to bring back the birch for these drugged up benefit scum. My thoughts are with you and your erstwhile rucksack.
  6. actually you are on to something Grandad. I do believe that serial benefit slobs should be neutered so that they don't breed generations of layabouts.
  7. yeah, I would. ****ing tenants are all the same. Gimme gimme gimme.
  8. I couldn't agree more. If these parasites can't be bothered to use a condom then why should I have to pay for the upkeep of their brood. What selfish layabouts. It used to be called 'family planning' and it involved sitting down with a calculator and working out whether you could afford additions to your family.
  9. This made me laugh! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/matt/?cartoon=8074609&cc=8035832
  10. where's Varna? How about holiday in Blighty, contribute to the local economy and leave less CO2 in the atmosphere.. now there's a thought...
  11. do your own dirty work. That's why she pays you rent. ****ing landlords, all the same.
  12. nothing matters until the government - of which ever stripe - understands that perpetual exponential growth on a finite planet with finite resources is not possible. We have a fictional monetary system, built upon facile assumptions of what the material world can produce. Trillions upon trillions of dollars/pounds/euros/yen/etc of commitments and future promises pulling forward natural resources which simply won't be there. The 21st century will be very different from the 20th. As much so as the 20th was to the 19th. We have very real new challenges in this century. We can and will survive, that is what humans do. But the status-quo - the narcissistic consumption - will not do. Our monetary system will re-align with the true wealth of the world, that is the material wealth. We have time to gather political consensus to ensure that real scientific endeavor is funded, but it must be a collective political agreement that true progress is not made by raping the planet for all its material and mineral wealth, and using its natural commons for dumping waste, all in the name of Economic Growth. Rather true progress is first understanding that we all have an inalienable right to basic necessities such as a warm place to sleep, a full belly once a day, access to clean water and access to knowledge and learning. After these have been met there is nothing to be garnered by wallowing around in our own human-made self pity and self indulgence. Then the next hurdle must present itself. And that hurdle must be for Man-kind to continue exploring. We must turn away from this imbecilic economic model of consumption-for-consumption's-sake and once more cast our eyes to the Heavans and beyond. We have the whit, we have the brains and mercifully we still have the natural resources and natural commons to allow us to continue the Human Quest. But time is running out.
  13. Mmm... Oh! My! God! I've just done the washing up using my new bottle of Fairy's Tangerine and Ginger washing up liquid. In all my three decades of washing up I have never, not ever, smelt a more delightfully scented washing up liquid. Not ever. It is to die for.
  14. actually I've been saying this before today's game. Wouldn't it have been nice to have got NA in before the pre-season! I think he will do good things for us but I accept that he needs time. the problem is what with ML's passing if we don't gain promotion this season then who knows, maybe the owners get bored..
  15. You must of missed the quote marks I put around 'getting better'. Obviously getting better is a good thing. What I was trying to point out is that the only 'getting better' that counts is 'scoring more goals'. And we are not scoring nearly as reliably as we need to if we are to be promoted. As said above, all the pretty football in the world won't matter a jot in the long run unless it results in goals. Goals win football games.
  16. agree 100%.
  17. First of all, we should have beaten Tranmere. They were utter crap. As I have said, there is plenty of time to turn things around. Second, it doesn't matter a damn about 'getting better'. What we need to do is score goals, and we are just not doing that enough. There is no way to sugar coat the first quarter of the season. It is simply not promotion-material. Can we turn it around? Yes. Will we? I hope so. But in recent years there has been this feeling that we are 'destined' to be promoted just because we are Saints. There are clubs out there with a 10th of our resources who are doing much, much better. Sure they can slip up later on and yes, the league table is congested and tight. However we must not be complacent. We need not only to start winning games, but really stamping our authority on the league if we are to stand a chance of automatic promotion.
  18. We have only scored 11 goals in 12 league games - and one of those was a 4-0 win. So the other 11 league games we have only scored 7 goals. That is not a good enough rate of scoring. That is not a goal rate which will get us promoted if extrapolated out through the season. also from all games this season including cups we have played 15 and only won 5. Again, teams which only win a third of their games do NOT get promoted. we are now more than a quarter way through the season. while there is still enough time to do something about it, it is also fair to say that we are sufficiently far into the season to begin to worry and say that this is not good enough. if some folks here want to slate me for being 'negative' that is their lookout but it doesn't change the above facts one iota. We are just not good enough at the moment.
  19. I've been beating this drum for the last 4 seasons. We have been consistently crap at corners for a long, long time.

  21. no. just because I do not think we are very good does not mean I am trying to **** people off. Sorry that you can't see that. So in your world only people with 'positive' things should be allowed to post?
  22. what a shambles. didn't this happen at Poole last week?
  23. what was the point of this post? grow up.
  24. get in there watford
  25. just reported this post. you are being abusive. I happen to have different opinions to you. if you can't be a grown up and have a proper debate then go and play elsewhere
