The thing is though they are not playing all out defence. They are creating as much as we are. We are doing what we always do. Keep possesion and create little.

Of course you can look at it in many different ways. The only reason we went further in the EL was down to how well we finished last season. But looking at the campaign overall it was a big dissapointment. No away goals let alone wins. And going further in the League cup is indeed a positive. But you have to ask yourself if Arsenal had put out a strong team would we have been through? Who knows. For us to have an on par season as the last we have to finish 6th. Can you honestly see that happening? When you look at our league results this season they are a bit ****. If you look at the results and say what was our best win thus far you would have to say Burnley. The Everton game was decent but they were so poor. By this time last season I recall we had beaten Chelsea away and Bompey. With us destroying Arsenal away 0-4 at some point in december. I think a big difference this season compared to last is that the teams that were poor last season have improved a lot. Chelsea and Liverpool have re-emerged whilst teams around us have also got stronger. West Brom, Watford, Bompey etc are much better teams compared to last year. The question I ask is are we a better team? Do we play as good football as we did? Do we score as many goals as we did? Do we have players of the calibre of those we lost? My personal view is no. Redmond is nowhere near as good as Mane. Austin is not as good as Pelle. Don't forget 2 of Austins goals have been penalties. None of Pelles goals last season were penalties. Add to that Pelle has much more impact in the big games. The Chelsea game he was a total beast. He had 2 assists and a goal. The same thing happened in the Liverpool game. He created 2 and scored 1. My point being for all Pelles flaws he was a very good striker for us. One that I believe has better impact on games than Austin. Add to that Jay sadly isn't who he once was. Long has regressed badly. The only player I feel we covered well for was Wanyama being replaced by Romeu. I honestly think Romeu has been one of our best players this season.

We haven't improved this year. We have gone backwards. I'm all for optimism but I honestly don't see how anyone can think we are better this season than the last.

Ignore him. I'm pretty sure he is a troll. You got to be nuts to think we will be in Europe next year. I think even the most staunch supporter of hull wouldn't even think that!

Maybe it is just me but I find you guys just as bad as them. Don't really seem to say much about the game just bash people for their views. I am not going to be too critical here but I think people have a valid reason to be annoyed with that result and recent performances. We have scored only 13 goals this season. West Brom have 20! Bompey have more than us.... There are clearly issues within the team and its right to point the flaws out after terrible performances. If you put your head in the sand and ignore them they get worse. I am glad you are really happy with how our season is going and everything is all rosey even after a loss to a team who were in freefall. But please stop talking like those who don't agree are 'princesses' because they don't share your view. I thought it was only the few that looked at everything all rose tinted win or lose. Clearly I was wrong.

Goes to show it is a game of opinions which is great. Personally I thought it was a typical jwp display. Created nothing, lost the ball lot, sloppy passing when it is beyond 2 yards and every free kick/corner either goes to the keeper or into the first defender. He is what he is and that isnt a top level footballer.

Great performance by us. Puel was the tactical genius against the most inform team in the country. We kept Palace under control the whole game and the selection was spot on. Redmond and Prowse were threats everytime they got the ball. Their defence couldnt handle them! Sure we lost but boy we are awesome! We might have the second worst goals for in the league but it doesnt reflect how great we are. You can't blame the attackers when their defenders and keepers pull off those amazing blocks and last gasp saves every game! All in all there is nothing to be negative about! On to the must win game in Europe next week. If we play like we have over the past 5 league games where we have 4 points from 15 we should cruise to a 20-0 win! (disclosure - not saying anything negative incase cb fry and co start crying and say i enjoy watching us lose. So only positive comments!)

Ah well what a difference a game makes. Pardew was about to be sacked and now only 3 points behind us. Seeing as we are awesome that means Palace are awesome now too right?
