It is an interesting question. Looking at transfermark our incoming over the past 2 and a half years from players is 16/17 = £64.5m so far. 15/16 = £45m and 14/15 = £106m. Total from transfers = £215.5m Transfer spend - 14/15 = £81m 15/16 = £47m 16/17 = £22m so far. Total transfer spend = £150m. So from transfer in/out we should have £65m+. That is before taking into account last season we made £85m from domestic/overseas broadcasting and final league position. This season we get £750k per tv game (facility fee) and £47m from the new overseas tv deal. Meaning finishing last place gets you £97m (see below for graph stolen from the tv deal announcement) Now that doesn't take into account our wage bill which is NO# CLUB 2013-14 2014-15 2015-16 3 Chelsea £190m £192.7m £215.6m 1 Manchester United £187m £215.8m £203 m 2 Manchester City £216m £205m £193.8m 4 Arsenal £166.4m £180.4m £192m 5 Liverpool £140m £144m £152m 6 Tottenham £112m £100.4m £110.5m 7 Newcastle United £68m £78.3m £75.8m 8 Everton £66m £69.3m £74.7m 9 Stoke City £55m £60.6m £72.3m 10 Sunderland £55m £69.5m £71m 11 West Ham United £60m £63.9m £69.5m 12 Aston Villa £74m £69.3m £65.1m 13 West Bromwich £49m £65.4m £68.5m 14 Southampton £47m £55.2m £59.5m 15 Swansea City £55m £48.1m £51m 16 Crystal Palace £45.7m £54.3m 17 Leicester City £36.6m £48.2m 18 Norwich City £37m 19 Watford £29m 20 Bournemouth £25m http://www.totalsportek.com/money/english-premier-league-wage-bills-club-by-club/ That doesnt count the loss of some big contracts i.e Osvaldo/Ramirez. So maybe it is agent fees Nope not that then. What I find pretty amazing is with all that cash why do we owe the bank £10m?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYwHgsRjoYo Better angle of it. Clearly pushes at him. If it was for the trip that would be harsh as was accidental. Either way Shaw bought that one.
-
He didn't have his arm out but at the start of the clip he pulls at his top and then tries to grab him again. Shaw made a massive meal of it but penalties can be given for intent which was what he was trying to do. Was nothing to do with his feet.
-
Think it is you who is watching a different game Clearly pulls at him trying to stop him going past
-
From the replay I saw he had his arm around Shaw and stopped him from going past him. No attempt at getting the ball etc
-
I thought the pen was for classie grabbing his shirt and pulling him back?
-
Da fuk was that Classie?
-
Couldn't disagree more to be honest. Hojlberg and Tadic have been different class but everyone else has been seriously second best. We are passing the ball around nicely in the middle and in defence but up front we are hoping either Long or Redmond can get onto a long pass. Our one shot on goal was that Long chance which was poor. Utd have not been spectacular at all but they are coming forward with pace and trying to get through us. Passing the ball around the half way line is not very impressive to me. Scoring goals does and right now the only player I think who could do that is Tadic. He needs to be further up the pitch.
-
Awful defending. All started from Redmond giving the ball away and not tracking back. Going to be a mauling now. Very poor.
-
It was 2 feet above his head.... It was a poor cross. He did great to get passed his man onto that ball but he ****ed the cross up.
-
Just started watching a stream as Fsports Italia is showing Malaga game for some reason... da fuk is going on with the broadcasting? Its like they are talking to us as if we have no idea about football at all. "The players walk down the tunnel and then onto the pitch"......really?
-
Not really sure what to make of that. The first 45 mins was up there with the worst I have seen. Play like that at Arsenal and Man Utd and we will be 0-3 down at half time. It was really poor. JWP was his usual **** self, offering nothing at all. Second half was much much better. Redmond came more into the game and improved from his dire first half display. However he wasted a lot of chances that I think someone like Mane would of buried at least 2 of them. When they were down to 10 men we seemed a bit clueless to be honest. Pass to the wings and cross or launch it into the box. I cant remember Gomes being tested at all. So like I said not really sure what to make of it. At the end of the first half I would have taken a draw. But second half when we got the goal and they went down to 10 men I expected at least some shots on their goal. Tadic was my motm. He was the creative force in the side. Redmond did great in the second half. I also think Target played very well. JWP and Long had terrible games. Need to get some creative players in asap or we are going to struggle imo.
-
Pathetic first half. Redmond is the next Thiery Henry hey? More like Lenny Henry...
-
The Crab is a perfect nickname for him haha

Hey Feyenoord thanks for your reply! Always nice to hear from other fans even if it is criticism! Karsdorp - Are you saying he doesn't get forward and be just outside the right of the penalty box that much? As looking at his assists video he seems to be there a lot? Interesting quote from one of your own fans " Karsdorp would be good enough to play for any team in the Premier League outside of the top four or five clubs. If he gets enough playtime, he will develop in a pretty decent full back/wing back" If he can play wing back can he not play as a winger then? Reminds me a bit of a player we had who started life as a defender then moved into being a winger. Wonder what happened to that guy. Janssen - If you read what I said I said "He is a natural striker". What I meant by cut inside is that he can be out on the wing and move with the ball inside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i-4h9vmIJQ 2.28 cuts inside, 3.38 comes out to wing, 3.55 on the right etc. He scores a ton of goals from the middle but he scores a lot from the sides too. Maybe Mane was not the best comparison though. But they both have that ability on the ball to be un-predictable and keep it rather than pass it off etc. Has now joined a big club. Overeem - Obviously that is my opinion. I admit I have not seen him as much as I have others but he seemed good whenever I did. Dutch fans seem to rate him " What a great player this is so, I hope so that he extended his contract by four years" "Van Overeem AZ again will generate a lot of money for a transfer in a year or two years" "He will have best potential" "By far the best player of this AZ" "Fighting spirit, perseverance, technique, beautiful to look at (the panna) and efficiency This boy must indeed be cherished." "Overeem belongs in midfield. It is a special class player." "Overeem, class, each week a little better." " I predict that within three years he played for a big club" "What energy! Never give up! Good insight! Let others better player and does a lot of dirty work !! " etc etc 9 assists and was 4th top scorer at AZ is pretty good going for a young lad imo. He also had the 2nd best pass % at the club. Like I said it is my opinions. One of them has already moved to a big club for relative peanuts. I don't get to watch Dutch league football that much in all honesty. I watch Serie A and the Premier League the most. But if there is a game on and I'm not doing anything I will watch it. So your knowledge of the league will be greater than mine. But it doesn't mean I have no knowledge of the league and players. Just as I am sure you know a lot about the PL. -
We were talking about Eric Black mate not Puel. Pretty sure Black had nothing to do with Thierry Henrey?
-
I am not writing him off. I think a few people are baffled by his appointment. His efforts at other clubs are questionable. I would have kept Sammy on as we know what we are getting with him. If Puel knows Eric well and how he works and wants him to be his number two then that is his decision. He made that call. Let's wait and see what happens. The board have done well before and can do well again.

Didn't take long to find these Celtic "He was known as toenails by most of the senior players-so far up joke broons arse that was all you could see. Also a dirty grass fact" "Chancer if there ever was one. Totally incompetent, fud, and hun to boot" "Got to admit I've not heard a good word about the man from his time with Celtic - was always suspected as being the chief leaker of information - nicknamed the Weasel by quite a few folks" Rotherham "I saw what Evans said about this coach and concluded that he was a great addition. I have since seen some breakdowns of his past record which has allowed me to form an evidenced based opinion[something that I greatly value] His record appears to be abysmal and he seems to have been associated with teams that have performed very poorly. Looking at yesterdays performance, my mind is truly boggled as to what they have been practicing in training, presumably a strategy of total disarray and confusion." Villa "I have never seen a more clueless manager at any premiership club. " "If we are to rebuild I don't see how such a failure of this level can be kept in any capacity. Add him to the list of woeful players we need to move on. " "clueless, spineless and willing to blame everyone (including the fans) but himself for the debacle...playing players who should be nowhere near the 1st team, talented youngsters or creative players ignored, the list is endless" " I hope he has nothing to do with us next season, not only is he clueless but also has an incredibly pessimistic attitude" "Clueless, useless, pathetic, moronic, **** is how i would describe Eric Black " "his negative comments & attitude in press conferences makes me feel he is the worst we have had" "Useless, hope he is off soon" Blackburn "reckon eric black has been the worst assistant in the league this season" "As soon as we replaced Mark Bowen for Black it all went downhill. That's the story of Eric Black"[ etc etc I can't be bothered to quote anymore as there are tons and tons of them. Let's hope CB Fry is right and this guy is a quality coach who will take us on to the next level. Up a level I mean. Not down a level like he did at Celtic, Blackburn, Villa, Rotherham, Birmingham, Wigan, Blackpool etc he does seem to have been involved in quite a lot of clubs going through the ****. That doesn't mean it is his fault. Maybe just unlucky. But if he was this great coach why has he not got a stale job coaching at one of the better PL sides? Always seems to be around teams in trouble.

There are a few that I think would do well here. Rick Karsdorp. He is a right back but plays more as a winger. I think eventually he will fill that role. Was joint top assister in Holland last season. Joris van Overeem. This guy will be a star in the future. Sam Larsson. Vincent Janssen. This guy is a pure goal machine. In a couple of years I expect him to go to a big club for sure. If I was looking to buy anyone at all it would be him. He is a natural striker but like Mane tends to be more of a cut inside winger. Riccardo Saponara. Andrea Belotti (another quality player). Those are ones that I would have gone for especially the dutch lads as they would fit in with the set up. Obviously everyone will have an opinion on who we should sign. Doesnt mean I am writing this guy off, far from it. -

Of course. £11m is nothing these days. But don't forget stoke only paid £12m for Shaquiri. Like I said I wish the lad well as if he does good we as a club do good. But I personally would have gone for other options. I am sure Les thinks he is a good fit for us and hopefully that turns out to be true. -

Good luck to the lad. I wouldn't have bought him as think there are better players out there for the same price. Reading the Norwich forum seems a mixed response to him going. One thing is for sure if he is the replacement for sadio he will have to hit the floor running. Will be one of our main creators with Tadic. -
Didn't Nice almost get relegated a couple of seasons ago?
-
Yep, was bored of it a week ago. A name over here that I think possibly could be alright. Eusebio Di Francesco. The past two seasons he has done very well with Sassuolo, finishing 6th this year. They are a very hard team to beat. Have the 4th best defence in Italy. That is pretty good for such a small club.
-
I appreciate what he did for us here but I won't wish him luck. I can understand wanting to make more money, we all want to do that. But the way he has decided to leave and have two agents playing the field is very disrespectful to us. Nothing more than a money grabber and shows what he said was nothing but sound bites. I won't do the whole "he will be sacked by xmas" like some did with Mopo as i dont think he will. It is now over to Ralph and Les to sort it out and show we are ambitious. That the talk of wanting to get into the top 4 was not a load of ********. We need someone in who commands respect, has experience at the top level and is a proven success. Not someone like Howe who currently isnt.
-
Think it is too soon for Howe. One season in the top flight isn't enough evidence to show he can do it Imo.
