Last year I was very unwell. I was in hospital for about 4 months. Things looked bleak. I couldn't see a future and had really given up hope. Then one morning one of the nurses told me that Alan would be coming in to see some patients, sign some autographs and have a chat and if I would be interested in seeing him. Of course I jumped at the chance (not literally, I was paralysed). Anyway, Alan came in and spent about 20 minutes with me. I won't break his confidence vy divulging all the things he said, but by the time he left I could sense pins and needles in my toes and the next day I was walking. I recently ran a marathon, and considering the doctors said I would never walk again, that is some feat. That's the kind of guy Alan is. I'll miss him (although I got to say, this new bloke is going to blow your minds).
Thanks for everything Alan.
