Not so sure about that, while we have been in the CCC the promoted teams have generally done very well and have played attractive football. If we can build a side that can be successful in League 1 then I don't think it will need a huge amount more investment to be successful in the CCC. Having said that though, this would need us to invest considerably in L1 to get a competitive team together and also the right manager to lead us forwards. So I really hope these WGS rumours are true. [-o

I thought we would be getting a special 125 commemorative shirt and if this is it then I am a bit underwhelmed by it tbh. I think that either the colours on the shirt should be the other way round or the shorts and socks should be navy. Maybe we will get a one off home shirt ala spurs a few years ago as well as this, could potentially be a money maker and would be a nice bit of memorabilia.

They leave Block 43 free from season ticket holders as they have to supply a maximum number of seats to the away fans (about 4,000 I think). So for example if Millwall asked for their full allocation, we would be obliged to give them said number of tickets which would include block 43. If this was the case and we had ST holders in block 43 then we would have to move them. However if it is obvious that the away fans won't be selling anywhere near their full allocation then we open up 43 to home fans (which is most of the time). HTH Anyone know whether you can get a ST in the Kingsland/Northam corner this year?

Ok, worst team ever is out of the question but surely you can't expect anything from what will be left if we are not bought soon. If you take out those which you have suggested, Rasiak, Schneiderlin, Lallana and Thomas from the current squad list and also take out Davis, BWP, Euell, Saga, etc then you can only pick out 5 players who you can garantee will be capable of doing a job in league 1 (Bart, James, Gillett, Wotton and Holmes). In goal Bart has been around long enough for us to know about him and I think he would do a reasonable job, however defence is a major issue as Perry has lost his legs and lacks a physical presence when faced with a big striker. Lancashire is similar to Perry however has pace but no experience and has a tendancy to pick up stupid cards. Mills is slightly tested in a handful of games league one with Scunny however didn't feature in all while he was there. So besides James who looked assured towards the end of last season we don't have a proven defender for league one. Wotton didn't have a great season last year but has experience of the league, as does Gillett who looks set to become a key player next year. Holmes looked good until injured and hasn't really featured since then so it is impossible to tell how good he will be when he returns. All the others have only played a handful of first team games and so it is impossible to judge how well they will fair next year. Gobern and McClaggon were hit and miss, while White was far from impressive vs Blackpool. Reports suggested that Thomson had an encouraging spell at Bournemouth but in League to and you can't assume he will make the step up. So I accept I overexaggerated but you can't put an 11 down that you are confident will still be here vs Millwall that on paper you would look at and think "We have a strong team for this division". Much like our off the pitch situation, which i regretably bring up, our on the pitch situation is still very much in the unknown. I hate to be pessimistic but after so many seasons of failure it is impossible not to be. (Sorry for the long post and the depressive nature but it has to be said)

Don't know about this but BWP, Euell, Davis etc are all out of contract along with Wotte. I think that was what the original poster was refering to. If we can't offer them contracts soon then they will be leaving on frees (If it was not there intention to in the first place). HTH

Get them to rotate round helping out in defence in shifts. Play on the ground into the channels and flood the box when we have the ball. Easy peasy!

Had some people shouting about how ugly he was during the game and comments about Kev's wife but was applauded off when he was subbed and then at the end when he came over. He said that we were a superb club with superb fans in the progamme and that we should be back in the premier league where he spent the best years of his career with us. If anyone did boo then they were definitely in the minority and were not real saints fans.

Jermaine Easter-(Plymouth) was good at wycombe but just got back from injury. Santa Cruz' brother-(Blackburn) if Roque goes to City. Rob Jones-(Hibernian) being chased by colchester, big centre half who wins alot in the air. Had Samaras in his pocket a few weeks ago. Young Liverpool defender, english forgotten his name but has played a few times for their first team in cups. Hobbs or something.

I believe that we are a defence away from a fairly decent side: Davis New RB New CB New CB New LB Dyer Schneiderlin Surman Skacel Saga BWP/McG Hopefully Molineux is one piece of that. Its just a shame that no money means that we probably can't play those players in the same team.

This will be our first test against a compact defensive unit. If we get an early goal we should be fine but I can't help but remember the Burnley home game last year. 3-0 saints I hope, should be an interesting match though.
