Not really, this BBC headline was a bit surprising. Now, correct me if I'm wrong. But didn't they just manage to beat Iceland with a narrow 2-1 victory? How that equates to blasting critics I do not know.
-
You got to stop somewhere. If you include Davies then I suppose Racine could also be in that list, JP seems to rate him.
-
Does anyone know how to watch that if you're not in the UK?

So if 5 other centrebacks are all out at the same time we might have a problem. Otherwise two out of the following could play: Svensson Perry Cork Thomas Wotton Lancashire
-
Cork has already played 34 games for S****horpe last season, that doesn't make him a seasoned pro but doesn't make him unproven either. He's good back up and which ever way you want to twist this having 3 centrebacks as backup for Svensson & Perry in Thomas (very experienced at this level), Cork (somewhat experienced at this level) and Lancashire (inexperienced) is not bad at all. I'd say more cover would be unwise in our current financial predicament. And if worst comes to worst, we can always get an emergency loan.

Any particular day mentioned? Friday perhaps?

That's rather naive of you.

Good to see the English press keeping their feet on the ground after ONE good match....
-
I like Copenhagen, just a tad expensive.
-
How tall is Cork anyway?
-
Or we could put Wotton in for Gillett, that would increase the height of our team a lot with just one switch. Anyway, I don't see the problem really. We've got Cork, Perry, Lancashire, Wotton and perhaps Thomas as well. I'd say that is plenty of players for two positions.

The good old days - old timer goes off on one again

I was born in '84 and most of what you described counts for my "generation" as well. Of course we had computers and stuff but that doesn't mean we didn't play football on the street until dinner and a bit more after dinner. But then, maybe that's the difference of growing up in a city or in a smaller suburb town. -
I thought he got that quite some time ago??

By signing his biggest rivals on his team (Heras for instance) and only letting people he likes win stages. The last two years have been way more exiting in the mountain stages. This doesn't mean I don't respect his achievements but cycling has been a lot more interesting in the last two years.
-
Not entirely true, he has said very clearly that those that were available for transfers were only going to be considered for the first team after the transferwindow closed.
-
J.Cole on the left wing with Cashley behind him. That has never worked and will never work.

96 goal scoring chances in our first 6 games

So far both DMG and Holmes have scored while playing on the wing and Lallana has scored as well. So in short, most of our goals have come from the non-striker attacking players. -
All correctly. And we could have scored a few ourselves as well (in the first half).

Do they have bigbushybeards?
-
There's always been dope rumours around him and they think that with the biopassports they have today he wants to prove that he can compete at the level he did before without taking drugs (and thus prove he didn't use them before either). In my opinion it a real shame though, the US Postal/Discovery team tactics killed cycling and I expect that whatever team he'll ride for will do the same next year.

Where could I watch it? Please note that I don't live in the UK.

Does he have a son called Kim Jong Il II?

We are playing something very similar to what Chelsea played under Mourinho. And to say one striker doesn't work, Dutch teams have played it for ages. Besides that, just look at Holland the euro's this year. One striker van Nistelrooy supported by three attacking midfielders (choose from: van der Vaart, Sneijder, van Persie and Robben). On paper our team might look like this: ---------------------------Davis---------------------------- James-----------Svensson-----------Perry-----------Surman ----------------Wotton--------Schneiderlin----------------- Dyer-------------------Llalana-----------------------Holmes -------------------------John------------------------------ But you might as well put it down on paper pike this: ---------------------------Davis---------------------------- James-----------Svensson-----------Perry-----------Surman ------------Wotton---------------------Schneiderlin-------- ---------------------------Llalana-------------------------- Dyer-----------------------John---------------------Holmes In one we play one striker in the other 3 but essentially the line-ups are the same. -
So the only way for young central defenders, midfielders and attackers to break through is by being played out of position? I agree that there need to be some more experienced players in a team but that doesn't have to be the so called spine. They might as well be the right back and the left winger.

And one bad match warrants a change? It doesn't work that way, especially when you play youngsters who are a bit more inconsistent. Anyway, in preseason it seemed Euell did quite well in some matches in the Llalana role but if there's one player I wouldn't drop. Bad luck for them I suppose. The one change I might understand is playing John upfront and switching DMG to the wing. I'm not sure White is ready yet and neither is Thomson. Dyer and BWP could play there perhaps but I thought Dyer was very dissapointing after a good first few mins against blackpool.
