Under 21s (?) coach appointed - and Henderson leaves
John B replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Which is where we were with Lowe but did not have enough Premiership standard players coming through Now we are in League 1 do we have enough League 1 standard players coming through? -
What time is todays game?

I take your point but I dont think it is not very realistic In the next ten years we are not going to be able to compete with the top Premier League clubs as they are investing all the time and as I said above I doubt whether a top clas youngster in say Nuneaton is dreaming about playing for SFC But as I dont have a Crystal Ball I dont know what will happen after that -

Although I totally agree in the Strategy it is not a foregone conclusion that it will actually work It works at teams like Ajax and Barcelona because the best young footballers want to go to their Acadamies I doubt whether a top clas youngster in say Nuneaton is dreaming about playing for SFC. -

I agree with your comment but without financial contraints there will not be the same pressure to sell to balance the books. But I think players will still leave when their contracts end -

I dont see much difference between this strategy and Lowe's We will have to wait and see what happens when we produce a Walcott a Bale or a Bridge in the future but I would be surprised that they did not eventually move to a top club -

Yes sounds very much like the Dutch way too which the previous regime wanted to adopt which I fully supported. I was very impressed with an interview Martin Jol Manager of Ajax gave on Sunday his team has 8 or 9 players who have come through his Academy Playing together for a number of years must be a good thing -
Is this player from Bishops Stortford in the Squad http://nln24.com/news/story/stortford-star-hoping-for-dream-saints-switch
-
I Wonder if Stern stayed would we have bought Rickie Lambert
-
I know there will be some Mickey Mouse Friendlies for the Reserves. I do however agree with your analysis about the goal Keeping Situation but I cannot blame Bart if he wants to leave Seems to be a slight mess unless they think Forecast is going to improve
-
I think Bart may want to play for a First Team with no reserve fixtures this year what is he to do at SFC
-
The club spokesman has and he is in Switzerland
-
Yes we should be in the top two but who knows
-
Totally agree is the person posting the information new just like to know next who is in the squad
-
Unfortunately it does not seem to be working it at the moment with very few coming through to the First team. Apart from Oxlade and possibly Gobern which Academy players are going to make it into the First Team this season. We are a League 1 side so standards are not as high as they were previously
-
Any idea who is in the Squad
-
I am sorry if this has already been posted but there has been talk of Rooney joining us from Maccessfield He is currently training with a League 1 side Could it be us? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/macclesfield_town/8802154.stm

Noodles does make a reasonable point ML/NC may have saved the club in your eyes and others but all they did was buy a Premiership Club at a knock down price but I am quite happy they did

No but that does not mean that we have our own ideas how the team can be improved
-
I agree the first XI is very good but was hoping for a couple of old heads like Murty Jaidi or Connolly just for a season or so but I do agree I would not expect any young freebies. I think Harding may have been our only free last season on a longterm contract
-
We need a Corky type for Saints an old Pro with lots of experience and proven ability
-
That is the best formation I have seen but lets hope Lambert stays fit
