Dont think that would work as then there would probably be more on Benefit I am an OAP next April so it does not affect me but losing a third of my occupational pension has. Just think people will have to pay more NI or opt out completely
-
I am not sure SRS used to post stuff that was interesting to discuss Although I disagreed with some of his comments they were well put out.
-
As we dont have an English Government I suppose I am British
-
That how I see it to.

I think you make a good point. The main difference between the two parties is that Labour likes Taxes the Tories dont You get nothing without paying for it Obviously there is a general problem with Pensions which has to be addressed but I think it would be better to pay more tax and retire at 65 than pay less and retire at 70

Seems to be a quote from A Daily Mail Reader who has a bigotted idea of how the Public Sector works No I have never worked in the Public sector but have been involved in supplying IT Products and Services to both Central and Local Government and found little evidence of widescale waste. Just normal people doing a good job in difficult circumstances and getting value for money out of a wide range of products and services. It is just a myth put round by people like you that there is wide spread skiving in the National Health Education and Local Government . In fact you last sentence is one of the most ridiculous I have seen posted on this forum as well as the suggestion that I work in the Public Sector

I dont understand how Redknapp was so bad at St Mary's he has done well at other clubs. Listened to him before and after the Slovenia game on BBC 1 and was very impressed with his contibutions but he was useless when we got relegated
-
I know there is another thread on Bart but I thought I would start another more spefic one about the Goalkeeping Situation at St Mary's So why would Bart want to comeback if there was little chance of First Team Action Is he likely to get more games this season or will Davis continue to be number 1 I thought Bart played well last season when he played

I disagree he tried to give the impression that VAT would not go up "David Cameron last night dismissed claims the Tories would put up VAT " unlike Vince Cable who after the Issue with The Tories Timebomb Poster did admit that VAT could go up. Of course cuts and Tax increases are needed but it is when and how they happen which is key. If you do not work in the Public Sector probably you may think cutting hard is good but it does mean less Tax income from the people who have no jobs . I doubt whether the 500000 or so people forced out of a job or school/university leavers will think cuts are a good thing. The economy needs to grow before the major cuts take place otherwise things will be grim. Putting up VAT again in January may have reduced the Debt but may have contributed to low growth in 2010

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/election-2010/7625873/General-Election-2010-Cameron-dismisses-claim-Tories-would-put-up-VAT.html Not according to Cameron before the Election - Once in he changes his mind http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/election/article-1268370/General-Election-2010-David-Cameron-reveals-Tories-target-north-east-Northern-Ireland-cuts.html

So putting up a poster highlighting the fact that the Tories would have a VAT TimeBomb is not campaigning against VAT

I think we must just be getting too old

I have read the thread with interest as I have never thought Corden funny but thought I must be missing something

Why is he banned

Well the Daily Telegraph think Heskey did a good job Emile Heskey had little time to make any real impact, although did hold the ball up effectively during the final minutes to ensure England closed out a tense victory. Fabio does know what he is doing you know - one of the best coaches in World Football By the way it is a shame that Lambert does not have Heskey's pace because he would be in the England team but probably not Saints
-
Because he bought on Heskey we did not concede a goal but of course if we had he could have still brought on Crouch Heskey does a particular job reasonably well but I agree he is not an out and out goal Scorer
-
I dont think that was how Capello saw it. The Slovenian CBs were winning everything in the Air and we were not surrending possession too easily and putting pressure on our defence
-
I agree quite Obvious I would have thought Heskey is stronger than Crouch
-
Heskey was a good substitution as we won still had Crouch Available as well
-
I thought the one from Terry was quite good. Good team selection from Fabio too Dont think Joe Cole will get much of a look in in future matches as Milner played very well and can unlock defences He is a much better footballer than Theo who just seems to have pace
-
I thought their Goalie was outstanding ours was quite good too
-
The only explanation I have heard was the Charter was for last season
-
I agree they were in power for thirteen years and carried out good work but the debts were mainly due to the affect of the Global banking crisis as can be seen from the misfortunes of other countries If the Labour Government had adopted the Policies of the Tories in 2007/2008 we may have been in a similar position to Greece but we are not because they did not seem right at the time So who knows if the Tory Policies are right now?
-
Yes I agree with your first point so it has turned out to be a PR stunt and not something which can be relied upon. I dont think there is anything wrong in posting something which you disagree with because lots posted on here is bollix anyway
