Yes totally agree it takes time to build a team but good managers do it quickly We will just have to see what happens in the next month or so.

What the hell sacking Pardew has got to do with Liverpool I have no idea. It is very negative to give somebody a job to do in five years and not to give him a contract for that length of time that is my point. If he cant do the job why appoint him?

I would agree but as we have a five year plan Pardew should be given every chance of carrying it out thats all

Why take notice of other posters it takes time to get a team working well. As you know Peter Osgood came to us in 1974 and during our lean spell failed to score a goal and we got relegated still a fine player

It does not mean that getting in loads of players will make the team win. The squad is good on paper and now the Manager and Coaches need to make it good on the pitch

So you agree that NC/ML could have been more positive and given AP a 5 year contract. If Pardew was the right man for the job he should be given the five years to get to the Premiership.

I think we have enough players to cover for injuries we have probly 25 or so players capable of playing effectively in League 1

I know which means that NC/ML are not confident of Pardew leading us to the Premiership.

So why not a five year contract?

I have always thought that doing really well in the JPT was a reasonable goal which would show that we were competitive in League 1. It was always unlikely that with the poor start and the loss of 10 points we would be promoted so the JPT was a vehicle for success this season. Getting to Wembley surely would be welcome after our failures in recent years

That is not negative I would have thought pretty positive and realistic. Suggesting that things need to get better is clearly better than accepting performances which are not good. Things are obviously getting better at SFC but things are not good on the pitch at the moment to suggest that we will be promoted this season or get automatic promotion next. Hopefully with the new players things will improve and promotion will be achieved soon - I still think having a five year plan puts increased pressure on everybody.
