AP does not need an excuse -10 and Administration is the reason we are not in the playoffs Plus the fact we lost our best players from last season and AP had to build a team
-
I know how you feel We lost to Germany in the 1970 Cup Finals because Gordon Banks was ill and his Deputy Peter Bonnetti and excellent goalkeeper was not up to the task
-
If it was not for the Cup Competions the Season would be crap
-
Yes that is my point
-
What if he the best of a bad bunch? It is hardly his fault there are not many better goalkeepers about. But it is a bit of a concern having an old crock in goal for us in SA
-
It is a good job that Pompey were awful otherwise they may have beaten us by more than 4 1. Like us last season they have no money and have had to sell their best players. If they had had Crouch Defoe Kranjker and Glen Johnson they may have been better. Plus others they have recently sold Although Saints played well and I enjoyed the game it showed the gulf between League 1 and the Premier League which we have to bridge
-
They are only legends because they performed well in Div 1 and the Premiership. We are only in League 1 at the moment
-
Me too but did Thierry Henry not take corners for Arsenal Not having a footballer at RB does not help either
-
Excellent post. Yes to me getting to the Premier League is still a dream not a plan. Getting to CCC should be relatively easy . Building a team to get to the Premier League and stay there will be extremely difficult for the reasons you have suggested,
-
Well I think Window Cleaner has a point. Lallana maybe a very good player and gives his all but I feel he rarely puts in a truly match winning performance in League 1 Other young Saints players I have seen such as Paine Sydenham Chivers Williams Channon Le Tissier Shearer Wallace R and D have He played well yesterday but did not affect the result in anyway I just want him to do that and then SFC will be on the way to the CCC
-
You may believe it but at the moment there is little evidence based on League form that is why I agree with Alpine the next couple of months is extremely important. The team must show it can win games and produce excellent results both at home and away
-
Quite unbelievable really
-
No I think he was better today
-
I am not so sure it is much to do with a winning mentality but something to do with missing too many chances in the first half of matches. We should have scored more in the first half v MK Dons away JPT Brentford away and today. On Tuesday we went 2 up and cruised to an easy win
-
It is going to be interesting what happens as his contract ends in 2011 and there appears to be little money in the Premier League to buy players
-
Yes but there is now competition for places in the team which must be a good thing.
-
Yes he was a bit unluckly but was at fault missed his challenge PS how is Charlie
-
Yes Sturrock signed him I think He is a close friend of a relative who used to play football with him when he was younger
-
I said he was good today but would have been great if he had scored It is in the end goals which count
-
I agree but I wish he would score more goals he gets in good positions all the time but does not score as many as I think he is capable of
-
Todays performance was so much better than two years ago when we were dreadful against Bristol Rovers in the 5th Round
-
It was similar in that for the first hour or so we were as good as B'ham like we were today. However I think the First Pompey Goal was really good an excellent strike which for me showed the difference in class between the Premier League and League 1
-
I agree but we also played well against B'ham earlier in the season for 70 mins or so before Murty got injured
-
I agree whats more he appears to be a decent bloke and on ITV was complimentary of the match today
-
I think Antonio is going to be a pretty good player the more he plays the better he is probably going to get.
